Lin Yanran shook off his hand and snorted coldly, "Stop pretending."
Yu Jiuyuan watched this scene, a calculating glint in her eyes.
Lin Yanran's arrogance and Rong Shenghan's forbearance are a highly dramatic contrast.
She picked up the hiking backpack that Rong Shenghan had prepared and quickly caught up with Lin Yanran: "There are spare ski suits inside, prepared according to your size. You might as well wear them."
Lin Yanran paused, but did not turn around nor refuse.
The plane smoothly soared into the sky, and the cabin quieted down. Yuan Xu sat by the window, engrossed in reading "A Pictorial Guide to the Creatures of Changbai Mountain," occasionally scribbling in her notebook.
Xie Zhecheng wore noise-canceling headphones, closed his eyes to rest, but his brows remained furrowed, clearly still pondering the details of the observation plan.
Yu Jiuyuan walked over with two glasses of juice and placed one of them in front of Rong Shenghan: "Don't take Lin Yanran's personality to heart."
Rong Shenghan put down the book in his hand and smiled: "It's okay, it's just teenage rebellion." He looked at Yu Jiuyuan, "Speaking of which, you seem to know everyone's temperament like the back of your hand."
"After all, she's the student council president; she should know a thing or two about social etiquette." Yu Jiuyuan took a sip of her juice, her gaze falling on Lin Yanran in the front row.
He was leaning back in his chair playing on his phone, the screen brightness was turned up high, and you could vaguely see that he was chatting with someone. There was a hint of impatience in the corner of his mouth, and he was probably just dealing with his father.
She put down her cup, got up and walked to Lin Yanran's side, deliberately draping the blanket over his shoulder: "The air conditioning is set too low, cover yourself up so you don't catch a cold."
Lin Yanran suddenly looked up, her eyes like those of a startled wildcat: "What are you doing?"
"I'm just being kind by covering you with a blanket." Yu Jiuyuan smiled innocently. "Or is it that Young Master Lin would prefer Vice President Rong to serve you?"
These words struck a nerve with Lin Yanran. He hated being treated like a child who needed to be taken care of, especially in front of Rong Shenghan. He grabbed the blanket, draped it haphazardly over his lap, and muttered, "I don't need your help."
Yu Jiuyuan didn't say anything more and turned back to her seat. She knew that Lin Yanran was the kind of person who responded better to gentle persuasion than force; her slightly provocative words were more effective than soft words.
The favorability rating on the system panel remained unchanged, but Xie Zhecheng's emotional fluctuations showed that the "positive" column had quietly jumped to 48.
She looked up at Xie Zhecheng, who had just taken off his headphones. His gaze seemed to linger on her for half a second before quickly shifting away to the clouds outside the window.
Yu Jiuyuan smiled. Some reactions don't need numerical proof.
Just like now, the plane is passing through the clouds, and sunlight is streaming in through the windows, casting dappled light on everyone. The undercurrents hidden beneath the calm surface are quietly surging.
The snow of Changbai Mountain will soon fall on them. And this seemingly simple observation journey will ultimately become the most exciting chapter in her "taming manual".
She took out her notebook and wrote a line on it:
"Target: The frozen land, each to take what they need."
The sound of the pen tip gliding across the paper was very soft, yet it seemed to announce the start of a silent hunt.
