Chapter 81 After the Snow

He didn't actually care about any work plan; his father forced him to come, telling him to spend more time with Yu Jiuyuan and learn how to be "sensible."

But now, seeing the intimate traces between her and another man everywhere in this villa, he felt extremely uncomfortable.

"Understood." He tucked the documents into his coat pocket, turned to leave, and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

"Wait a minute." Yu Jiuyuan called out to him gently, "There's an AI exhibition next Saturday, and Xie Zhecheng will be there too. Do you want to come along? Consider it... a student council activity."

Lin Yanran paused and turned to look at her.

Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows and fell on her face; her smile looked incredibly genuine, as if she were sincerely inviting him.

But a strange sense of irritation rose in his heart, especially when he thought that Xie Zhecheng would also be there, and that Rong Shenghan was still wearing his bathrobe and circling around her. This irritation was even more intense.

“I’m not going.” He blurted out almost without thinking, his tone carrying the awkwardness and arrogance of a young man. “I have no interest in those cold, impersonal machines.”

Yu Jiuyuan didn't press the matter, but just smiled and said, "It's okay, just let me know whenever you want to go."

Lin Yanran didn't say anything more, turned around and strode away, closing the door with a deliberate force.

The living room returned to silence.

Rong Shenghan looked towards the door, picked up his water glass and took a sip, saying casually, "It seems that Secretary Lin isn't too keen on your 'group activities'."

“Take it slow.” Yu Jiuyuan leaned back on the sofa, her posture languid. “He’s a spoiled young master who’s most susceptible to the tactic of playing hard to get.”

She paused, then looked at Rong Shenghan with a hint of inquiry in her eyes: "Do you think Lin Yanran might know anything about the Su family?"

Rong Shenghan paused almost imperceptibly for a moment, then resumed his normal demeanor: "I don't know. But the Lin family and the Su family are close, so his father should know some inside information."

He put down his water glass, walked up to her, bent down and leaned close to her, his breath brushing against her ear, "What? Miss wants a new puppy again?"

His tone was teasing, but his fingertips gently pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him.

Those eyes, which always held a smile, were now churning with complex emotions: interest, curiosity, and a barely perceptible hint of...possessiveness.

Yu Jiuyuan didn't avoid his gaze; instead, she laughed, reached out and hooked her arm around his neck, and kissed him.

The kiss was full of aggression, as if it were declaring its sovereignty.

"What?" She stepped back slightly, her nose touching his, her eyes mischievous. "Is the vice president jealous?"

Rong Shenghan chuckled softly, kissing away the moisture from the corner of her lips, his voice hoarse: "I just think that Miss has a lot of energy."

He picked her up and strode upstairs. "But it's okay, I have plenty of time to play with you slowly."

The bedroom door closed again, locking away both the snowy scene outside the window and the ambiguous atmosphere inside.

Yu Jiuyuan nestled in Rong Shenghan's arms, listening to his increasingly rapid heartbeat, the smile on her lips never fading.

Winter break is still long, and her "taming manual" has only just turned a new page.

Whether it's the aloof Xie Zhecheng, the arrogant Lin Yanran, or the unpredictable Rong Shenghan before her, they will all be the most interesting pieces in her game.

The mystery surrounding the Su family will one day be dispelled by her own hands. After all, she never fails to get what she wants.
