Chapter 212 Persuasion and Teasing

The private jet pierced through the clouds and landed smoothly at the international airport in Sei-Sakura City.

Outside the porthole, the familiar city skyline stretched out under the early summer sun, and the camphor trees lining the streets were lush and green, carrying the unique scent of moist vegetation.

Yu Jiuyuan leaned on Rong Shenghan's shoulder, the fine sand of the Maldives beach still lingering on her fingertips, her eyes reflecting the lingering languor of her honeymoon.

For the past two weeks, they have wandered through the coconut groves and under the starry sky of the island, embraced each other in the moonlight of the castle, leaving behind all the noise and hustle and bustle, and immersing themselves in each other's world.

"Tired?" Rong Shenghan lowered his head, his warm breath brushing against the top of her hair, his fingertips gently stroking the diamond ring on her ring finger. "You can get some rest when you get home."

The "home" he referred to was originally a newlywed villa that was specially built for them before their wedding.

Located in the most upscale neighborhood of Saint Sakura City, the property is vast and exquisitely designed, with every detail reflecting his aspirations for the future.

Just as Yu Jiuyuan nodded in agreement, her phone vibrated at an inopportune moment, displaying the words "Xie Zhecheng" on the screen.

She answered the phone, and before she could even speak, she heard Xie Zhecheng's gentle voice carrying a clear sense of grievance, like a large, abandoned dog: "Xiao Yuan, where are you? Yuan Xu, Yan Ran, and I are waiting for you at your old villa."

"We just got off the plane and are on our way there."

Yu Jiuyuan smiled helplessly, imagining Xie Zhecheng's drooping eyebrows on the other end of the phone.

After hanging up the phone, she turned to Rong Shenghan, her eyes filled with apology: "I'm sorry, Shenghan, we should have gone straight to our new wedding villa."

Rong Shenghan held her hand, his fingertips warm, and said in a doting tone, "It's alright, it's good to go see them first. After all, they've probably been calling my phone non-stop for the past two weeks."

He was telling the truth.

During their honeymoon, Xie Zhecheng's daily greetings, Yuan Xu's sharing of her paintings, and Lin Yanran's silent concern were almost constant.

At first, it was just a subtle concern, but later, the disappointment and urgency in his tone became more and more obvious. Even the usually composed Lin Yanran awkwardly asked on the phone, "When are you coming back?"

As the car drove into the familiar villa area, three figures could be seen standing at the door of the white villa where Yu Jiuyuan used to live, looking around.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Xie Zhecheng was the first to come forward. He was wearing a neatly pressed white shirt, and his face, which was usually always adorned with a gentle smile, was now filled with grievance, and his eyes were slightly red: "Xiao Yuan, you're finally back!"

As he spoke, he tried to hug her, but Rong Shenghan calmly blocked him from doing so.

Looking at him like this, Yu Jiuyuan slowly typed a question mark in her mind. This was very disrespectful to Xie Zhecheng.

Rong Shenghan raised an eyebrow, his tone slightly teasing: "Professor Xie, watch your manners. She is my wife now."

Xie Zhecheng pursed his lips, not refuting, but staring intently at Yu Jiuyuan, as if he had suffered a great injustice: "I know, but you've been gone for half a month and have barely replied to any messages. You didn't even look at the experimental data I sent you last time."

Yu Jiuyuan quickly reassured him, "I'm sorry, Zhe. I didn't check my phone much during our honeymoon. I'll definitely check it carefully when we get back."

At this moment, Yuan Xu also stepped forward. He was wearing a light-colored knitted sweater, his face showed a slight haggardness, but his eyes held a deep longing.

He held a sketchbook in his hand and handed it to Yu Jiuyuan, his voice gentle: "Xiaoyuan, these are the paintings I did over the past two weeks, all of them are landscapes you like. It's too quiet in the villa without you here, and I always feel like something is missing."

The sketchbook contains sunrises over islands, sunsets over ancient castles, and streams in the forest. In the corner of each painting, there is a small figure, vaguely resembling her.

Looking at the delicate brushstrokes, Yu Jiuyuan felt a surge of tenderness in her heart and said softly, "Yuanxu, thank you, it's so beautiful."

Lin Yanran stood at the back, tall and straight, dressed in black casual clothes. Her face remained expressionless, but the emotions in her eyes were more turbulent than usual.

He didn't speak, but simply pulled out a thermos from behind him and handed it to Yu Jiuyuan, his voice low: "Your favorite sweet soup, just heated up."

Yu Jiuyuan took the thermos, her fingertips touching the warm body of the container, and felt a warmth in her heart.

Lin Yanran is not good with words, but she always expresses her care through the most practical actions.

At least that's how it is now.

For the past two weeks, he has probably been thinking about her tastes every day, trying to make her favorite sweet soup again and again.

Stepping into the villa, a familiar atmosphere greeted her. The sofa, carpet, and even the books on the bookshelves in the living room were exactly as she had left them.

Clearly, these three men had been meticulously managing the place during her absence, afraid that even the slightest change might occur.

After sitting down, Xie Zhecheng spoke first, his tone somewhat cautious: "Xiao Yuan, we've all heard about your and Rong Shenghan's new villa, it's very beautiful."

Yuan Xu nodded in agreement, a hint of disappointment in her eyes: "But, are you going to live there from now on and never come back?"

Although Lin Yanran didn't speak, her gaze was fixed on Yu Jiuyuan, clearly waiting for her answer.

Yu Jiuyuan looked at the three men in front of her. They were all outstanding in their respective fields, but at this moment they seemed like excellent actors.

The redness in Xie Zhecheng's eyes, Yuan Xu's haggard face, and Lin Yanran's tightly pursed lips all made her want to laugh.

She turned to look at Rong Shenghan and found that he was also looking at her, his eyes filled with doting affection and helplessness.

Clearly, he had anticipated this outcome.

"Actually, Sheng Han and I came back this time to discuss this matter with you."
