Chapter 167 Dedication

I swallowed, not wanting to refuse.

Otherwise, it would make me seem petty.

"Then... I'll have to trouble you." I was clearly reserved, and my speech was still hesitant, my mind already wandering.

"What trouble?" His expression softened, and he looked at me intently, as if he had only just realized that what he was about to do was a little...shy.

"Don't worry, I'll just help you take a bath," he emphasized inexplicably.

I didn't dare look him in the eye, and muttered, "I'm not worried..."

We went into the bathroom one after the other. He turned on the hot water first, then turned around and helped me take off my clothes.

Although we shared a bed last night, and did everything from hugging and kissing.

But this kind of "frankness" under bright lights is a first for me.

“I’ll help you, um… if you feel uncomfortable or can’t accept it, you can just say so.” He reached out his hand, his handsome face inexplicably flushed, his eyes fixed on me, not looking down.

"Okay, hurry up, I'm fine." Rather than dragging things out and making things awkward for both of them, it's better to get it over with quickly.

When I urged him on, a smile appeared on his lips, and then he obviously sped up his movements.

When the dress fell to the ground, although I didn't look directly at his expression, I could vaguely feel that his breathing had obviously quickened.

The warm water washed over my body, and I was startled, unable to help but tremble.

He whispered a reminder: "Lift your hands up a little to prevent the water from constantly washing over you."

His voice was low and hoarse, unlike his usual voice.

I turned my back to him, so I wouldn't have to face him, which made me feel a little more at ease.

His warm, thick hands, along with the warm water, gently caressed my body, with meticulous care and reverence.

I could sense that he was struggling to suppress his emotions.

My heart raced, and a strange longing surged through my body. For a moment, I just wanted to turn around and hug him.

Let everything that is meant to happen happen!

But before I could fully muster my courage, the water suddenly stopped, and I heard his hoarse, unpleasant voice behind me: "Okay, I'll dry you off."

A soft bath towel was draped over my body, and I couldn't help but shiver again. I turned around and said, "Thank you."

How's the injury on your wrist? Does it hurt?

"It's alright, I can tolerate it..."

The subtle, persistent pain was indeed there, but it paled in comparison to the gnawing pain in my heart—an indescribable, complex emotion that was both excruciating and unbearably painful.

Seeing that he finished so quickly and nothing happened, I was even a little disappointed.

Why is he being so gentlemanly?

Who wants such a gentleman?

Do you really want to force me to become a "slut" and actively pursue him?

After drying me off, he put a clean towel on my shoulder, held it down with one hand to prevent it from falling off, and then said, "Okay, let's go."

We walked out of the bathroom together.

I don't understand. Someone of his status should have been someone who was served and taken care of since childhood.

How could he be so good at taking care of others?

Gentle, meticulous, and methodical.

It looked as if they had been doing it for a long time.

I was too embarrassed to ask, but I was surprised and touched at the same time.

After experiencing a disastrous relationship, meeting such a perfect man has completely healed my wounded heart.

Su Shenglin brought me clean clothes and placed them by the bed. "Put them on slowly, I'll go to the bathroom to tidy up."

He deliberately walked away so that I wouldn't feel so constrained.

I blushed from head to toe, like a boiled shrimp, and even though I managed to say something, no sound came out.

He went into the bathroom and probably took a quick shower, since his clothes were wet when he helped me wash.

When he came out again, he was wearing a bathrobe.

"Is that alright? Let me disinfect the wound on your wrist."

"That's fine."

I put on my pajamas and calmed down a bit.

Su Shenglin sat down by the bed with his medical kit, bent one leg, and put my arm on his knee so he could operate it.

His movements were careful and gentle. Although it was inevitably painful when the medical alcohol was applied, his doting attitude was enough to relieve all the pain.

"How are you? If it hurts, just yell it out. You don't have to hold it in." Seeing that I didn't say anything, he looked up and asked with concern.

"It's nothing. Getting injured is nothing new to me. I can handle this little bit of pain," I replied with a smile, making a self-deprecating remark.

I remember one time last year, Gu Yanqing came to my studio and harassed me. During our argument, the tailor's scissors fell and cut my arm.

When Su Shenglin learned of this, he was very distressed and specially had someone buy ointment and send it over.

This time, I was injured by Gu Yanqing again, and Su Shenglin took meticulous care of me once more.

The difference is, now he's my boyfriend.

The question that had just crossed my mind resurfaced, and I couldn't help but ask curiously, "Why are you so good at taking care of people? Do you have experience?"

Su Shenglin smiled, and after disinfecting, he began to apply the ointment to me.

"Are you asking if my experience comes from taking care of my ex-girlfriends?"

“I didn’t ask that…”

Because he said he only had a brief relationship and broke up before it got serious, so it probably wasn't to the point where he had to take care of the other person.

Su Shenglin applied the medicine, leaned closer, and gently blew on it before casually explaining, "Taking care of people doesn't require any experience. We're all adults; if we want to do something, we can do it as long as we're willing. It doesn't require any skill, just sincerity."
