Chapter 31 is kissing Su Shenglin.

As the saying goes, "What you think about during the day, you dream about at night." With my best friend's encouragement and my admiration for Su Shenglin, I dreamed about Su Shenglin when I went to sleep that night.

In my dream, my wedding with Gu Yanqing went as planned.

Wearing a wedding dress I sewed myself, I stepped onto the red carpet amidst gasps of admiration and praise, slowly walking towards my Prince Charming.

As I approached, the other person lifted the veil from my head. When I looked closely, I realized that the groom was not Gu Yanqing, but... Su Shenglin!

I was terrified, thinking I was hallucinating, and searched everywhere for Gu Yanqing.

But Su Shenglin took my hand and kept walking, as if we were going to walk until the end of time.

I was lost in a beautiful dream and didn't want to wake up. When the alarm clock rang, I dreamt that I was kissing Su Shenglin, and I felt like I was floating on air...

However, reality ultimately triumphed over the dream.

I struggled to open my eyes, reached for my phone, and the memo notification on the screen instantly snapped me back to reality.

I made an appointment at the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce.

I quickly got up and got ready for work. On my way to the company, I called Gu Yanqing.

Thinking of the unpleasant ending at the auction, I thought Gu Yanqing wouldn't answer, but after only two rings, I heard his cold voice: "What is it?"

Hearing his tone, without even a proper address, I was taken aback, wondering who had offended him so early in the morning.

"Mr. Gu, I'm calling to remind you to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau at 3 PM today."

"Does it have to be today? Jiang Yi isn't feeling well, I can't leave." His tone was still indifferent, but now tinged with impatience.

"Gu Yanqing, it's just a divorce, how long are you going to drag this out? If you think we can get back together after Jiang Yi dies, let me tell you, dream on! If you're a man, be decisive and get a divorce already." I got angry too, and spoke rudely.

To my surprise, he ignored me and hung up the phone.

It seems I really need to prepare to file a lawsuit and go through legal proceedings.

When I got to the company, I immediately asked Xiaoyingtao to help me schedule a divorce lawyer appointment.

At 10 a.m., I was on the phone with my divorce lawyer, learning about the divorce proceedings, when Xiao Yingtao knocked on the door and came in: "Sister Wan, there's a man outside looking for you. He claims to be your cousin, surnamed Zheng."

My cousin, surnamed Zheng, is my aunt's son—what does he want from me?

I asked, puzzled, "Let him in."

I ended my call with the lawyer and looked at the young man who came into the room. Sure enough, it was my aunt's son, my cousin, Zheng Weihao.

"Haohao, what brings you here? Is there anything I can help you with?" I stood up to greet him with a smile.

Zheng Weihao's face was grim, and his words were full of hostility: "Cousin, you've already torn your own family apart, and now you want to mess with my family too? You've been pitiful since you were little, and my mother has taken good care of you. Is this how you repay her?"

I was completely stunned by this barrage of sarcastic remarks.

"What do you mean? Did something happen to your aunt?" I asked, puzzled.

Zheng Weihao's tone was sharp, "Did you borrow money from my mother? You asked for 20 million right off the bat, you have some nerve!"

I was startled and realized what was happening.

Could it be that there's something wrong with the money my aunt lent me?

"I did borrow money from my aunt, but I didn't need it. I paid her back a couple of days ago—is there a problem?"

A few days ago, in order to raise money for the auction, I scraped together money from all sides, borrowed from various places, and even took out a bank loan.

Later, Su Shenglin helped me bid on the jade bracelet. I used that money and gradually paid it back to my friends and the bank over the past few days.

I transferred my aunt's money the very night the auction ended.

"Of course there's a problem! That money was embezzled by my mother to lend to you, without my father's knowledge. He only found out today. Even if you pay it back, the nature of this is egregious. My parents had a huge fight, smashed up the living room, and are now threatening divorce! Isn't this all your fault?" Zheng Weihao said indignantly, raising his voice to launch into a tirade of accusations.

I was startled, and I roughly guessed what was going on.

My uncle's company has been in disarray in recent years because he brought in all his relatives, both capable and incompetent, to leech off his wealth.

My aunt had been persuaded by my uncle a few years ago to quit her job and return to family life.

However, because too many of her uncle's relatives had joined the company, it created a chaotic atmosphere. My aunt was worried that the company would eventually be hollowed out by those parasites, so after a difficult struggle, she regained control of the company's finances.

With my aunt in charge and the finances tightened, those corrupt officials could no longer easily profit from the situation. Naturally, they would slander my aunt in front of my uncle, causing their relationship to become increasingly strained.

It must be because my aunt embezzled public funds to help me this time, and my uncle found out and finally seized on her weakness—even if the matter itself did not cause any wrongdoing, my uncle will make a big deal out of it.

If they divorce, the tragedy that happened to my mother will be repeated in my aunt's life.

My uncle will definitely try to control my aunt, making her leave with nothing or be burdened with debt.

Once I understood all this, I quickly calmed down.

"Don't yell, just say what you have to say. Shouting won't solve anything." I reassured Zheng Weihao, then took my phone and told him, "Calm down, I'll call your aunt."

I cannot listen to his one-sided account of these matters; I must understand them comprehensively.

I had a feeling that his sudden visit to me wasn't just to vent his anger; he must have had other motives.

When I called, my aunt's voice was noticeably hoarse, and she was still upset.

"Auntie, Hao Hao is with me. I heard that he had a fight with Uncle because of the money you lent me, and now they're even talking about getting a divorce?"

The aunt was surprised: "Hao Hao went to look for you?"
