Chapter 32 Look! This scumbag has lowered the bar again.

"Fifty million? No way." Seeing his outrageous demand, my attitude turned cold.

Although this matter started because of me, it is ultimately the Zheng family's fault. They don't want me to be the scapegoat.

Zheng Weihao glanced around my office, his expression tinged with jealousy: "I heard that you divorced Gu Yanqing and he gave you the company. I also heard... that you've now climbed up to the high and mighty Su family. That mysterious and low-key Second Master Su spent 300 million to help you redeem my aunt's jade bracelet."

Zheng Weihao walked up to me, looking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"From this perspective, fifty million is nothing to you. Whether you ask Gu Yanqing for help or ask that Second Master Su for help, it's a piece of cake."

After hearing this, I couldn't help but smile.

No wonder they came to blackmail me; they'd found out everything, thinking I was some golden phoenix on a branch, ready to pluck a few of my feathers from anyone who passed by.

"I've broken up with Gu Yanqing; we're enemies now. I won't borrow money from him. As for the Su family, I'm not worthy of their attention. That 300 million was borrowed from Second Master Su." I explained calmly and truthfully.

But Zheng Weihao didn't believe it. He walked back to my desk, stared at my face, and became indignant again: "Jiang Wan, my mother has treated you like her own daughter since you were little. How can you just stand by and watch me die?"

I remained indifferent: "I will try to raise the money, but it will take time. Even selling the company won't be something that can be done in a day or two."

“But my family can’t wait any longer. We’re facing internal and external troubles all at once, and we’re facing bankruptcy every day,” Zheng Weihao said anxiously.

Seeing his panic, I couldn't help but gloat, "Didn't your dad think about the consequences before he acted recklessly?"

He suddenly snapped, "What's the point of saying all this now? Just lend me the money!"

I frowned and said slowly, "This is the first time I've ever seen someone borrow money from someone so brazenly, like a bandit or tyrant."

"Jiang Wan, you—"

His face turned red, and he pointed at me, about to start cursing again, but I stopped him: "Zheng Weihao, if you yell at me again, I won't lend you a single penny. If you go bankrupt, I'll support your aunt. You can forget about getting involved."

"..." As soon as he said that, he immediately suppressed his anger.

In the tense silence, the office door was suddenly pushed open, and a familiar voice pierced the air—

"Haohao, I'll lend you this money, but it'll be under your sister's name."

Gu Yanqing walked in, his tone straightforward and hearty.

Zheng Weihao turned around, saw him, and was taken aback. His expression changed instantly. "Brother-in-law? You're still as loyal as ever!"

I raised my voice to correct him: "Don't shout that, he's no longer your brother-in-law."

"How can it not be? Even if he marries Jiang Yi, he's still my brother-in-law. We're family no matter what." Zheng Weihao looked at Gu Yanqing and immediately laughed again. He was shameless.

Gu Yanqing was satisfied with his answer and smiled faintly.

But when I looked at Zheng Weihao, his expression was indescribable.

Although I already knew that my cousin was a bit of a scoundrel, I didn't expect him to be this bad.

I don't bother arguing with a fool. I'm too lazy to argue with him. I just looked at him and said, "Go back. I'll give you an answer within three days."

Zheng Weihao didn't believe him: "Don't try to fool me."

I scoffed, "Now it's your turn to ask me for help. If you continue with this attitude, I wish you all the best in closing down soon, and I'll save money too."

Before Zheng Weihao could speak, Gu Yanqing became anxious and hurriedly asked, "Xiaowan, where are you going to get fifty million? You don't have much money at all."

"What's it to you?" I retorted, looking at Gu Yanqing, and then exposed his trick. "You just want to lend him money in my name so that I'll owe you another favor and be under your control—I'm not falling for it."

Gu Yanqing looked embarrassed and explained in a low voice, "You're overthinking it. I just wanted to help you."

Zheng Weihao became excited, "Then brother-in-law, why don't you lend it to me now—"

“If you’re going to borrow money from him, then you should all leave this place. Whatever you discuss, how much you borrow, it’s none of my business.” I interrupted Zheng Weihao, pointing to the door with an unusually serious expression.

Zheng Weihao cast an expectant look at Gu Yanqing, but Gu Yanqing remained unmoved.

I smiled knowingly, realizing that I had hit the nail on the head regarding Gu Yanqing's thoughts.

Zheng Weihao realized that Gu Yanqing was unwilling to bypass his relationship and lend him money directly. His face fell, and he turned away angrily.

The office quieted down, and I asked Gu Yanqing, "What do you want? The divorce is this afternoon, just go directly to the Civil Affairs Bureau."

Gu Yanqing didn't answer that question, but instead frowned and asked me, "Where are you going to get fifty million? Are you going to sell the company to help your aunt?"

"It's none of your business." To be honest, I do have this plan; I want to transfer some of my company shares.

"Xiao Wan, why are you doing this? I'll lend you fifty million, and the Zheng family's crisis will be resolved immediately. You won't need to be so worried."

I stared at him, wondering why he was suddenly being so kind.

"Are you going to get down to business or not? If not, get out, or I'll call security."

I put my hand on the internal phone, and his face darkened before he said, "I did come to see you because I have something to discuss."

I looked at him, my face indifferent, my eyes wary. "Besides divorce, there's nothing between us to talk about."

Gu Yanqing didn't respond to that question, but went straight to the point and asked, "When did you become so close to Su Shenglin?"

My eyes widened in surprise—ah, so that's what you wanted to ask.

"Gu Yanqing, you didn't suspect me of cheating on you all along, did you? Thank you for your kind words, I did want to, but alas, I wasn't capable enough." I mocked myself, and also mocked him.

Gu Yanqing's expression was serious, and he looked rather intimidating. "Jiang Wan, you know perfectly well that I have a grudge against Su Shenglin, yet you still get so close to him. Are you deliberately trying to annoy me?"
