Chapter 8 The Mysterious and Low-Profile Su Family

The scene suddenly descended into chaos, with guests in the audience frantically taking photos with their phones.

I was outnumbered and at a disadvantage, but fortunately Gu Yanqing's parents, who valued their reputation, rushed over to mediate.

"In-laws! In-laws! This is the children's wedding, and so many guests are watching! Stop it!"

"Don't stop me! I'm going to beat this unfilial daughter to death today! You jinx! You were born to bring me bad luck!"

Jiang Haiyang was completely enraged by me, and he became ferocious and out of control. Even the two elders of the Gu family couldn't pull him away.

Suddenly, Tang Xiu'e shouted, "Stop hitting her! Xiao Yi has fainted! Someone come quick! Someone come quick!"

Jiang Haiyang froze, glanced back, shoved me aside, and rushed to his youngest daughter, shouting, "What happened? Where's 120? Call 120!"

The people surrounding me vanished instantly, all rushing towards the bride who had fainted on the ground.

Gu Yanqing was extremely anxious. He rushed over and picked Jiang Yi up in his arms. "Jiang Yi, hold on! You must hold on! I'll take you to the hospital right now!"

I was a mess, my cheeks were covered in a dense layer of pain, but seeing them in complete chaos, seeing this wedding utterly ruined, I felt incredibly happy!

I never knew going crazy felt so good!

I was extremely satisfied. I snatched the microphone from the emcee and, in the tone of the host, reassured everyone: "I'm sorry for the commotion. The wedding banquet dishes were carefully selected by me and are very good. I wish you all a delicious meal and a happy life."

With those words, I walked away gracefully, without taking a single cloud with me.

Back in the car, I took a deep breath.

I pulled down the sun visor and looked at my injuries in the small mirror.

Both cheeks were red, but thankfully no disfigurement. Her hair was also a bit messy, but she could easily smooth it out by raising her hand.

From childhood to adulthood, it's been commonplace for Jiang Haiyang to beat me.

Especially after he divorced my mother and married a vixen, I was going through a rebellious phase at the time. I deliberately went against them and disgusted them. Being beaten and punished became the main theme of my daily life.

These slaps are considered mild. In the past, I would be whipped with a belt, slapped with a book, or kicked. Those hurt much more.

I've survived to this day because I'm incredibly lucky.

Later, I met Gu Yanqing. He treated me very well and made me feel a warmth that I didn't have at home. I thought I had finally found a safe haven.

But I never expected that the bloodshed he brought me would be even more intense and cruel than that hellish home.

After sitting down for a while, I calmed down and reached into my pocket for my phone.

Unexpectedly, I touched something soft, and when I took it out to look at it, I frowned slightly.

I forgot to return the handkerchief that the kind guest just handed me.

I find it strange that these days, there are still grown men who carry handkerchiefs in their pockets when they go out. What kind of quirk is that?

However, the handkerchief was of excellent quality. I work in high-end custom manufacturing, and I can tell how expensive the fabric is just by looking at it.

This fabric is called silk wool, a natural fiber fabric.

Light as gauze, with a fine and clean surface, it has both the elegance of silk and the texture and luster of cashmere.

Even a handkerchief made of such exquisite materials.

I thought to myself that this person must be a person of good taste.

The handkerchief has a faint, fresh scent of forest grass and trees. I thought of the tone of voice that spoke to me, cool yet gentle, just like the feeling this handkerchief gives.

The handkerchief has the character "苏" embroidered on one corner using a double-sided embroidery technique.

I suddenly remembered that my scumbag father called him "Second Master Su".

In Jiangcheng, there is only one person who can be called Second Master Su.

But that's the Su family, a powerful and influential family!

Moreover, isn't the Su family always aloof, mysterious, and low-key, never involved in any social activities and rarely appearing in public?

As for that Second Master Su, he was only known by name and never seen in person. There were even rumors that he suffered from a strange disease and could not be seen by people.

Why would he grace my wedding with his presence?

I was completely baffled and wondered if there was some mistake.

However, since they don't show themselves easily, and they did, they witnessed such a spectacular show, so the trip was definitely worthwhile.

My phone suddenly rang, pulling me back from my chaotic thoughts.

Li Yunwei shouted excitedly and angrily on the phone: "Gu Yanqing and Jiang Yi are disgusting! I was so angry I almost smashed my phone! Luckily you didn't back down, you did a great job, you were brilliant, you made those two bastards scream!"

I sighed, leaned back in my chair, and rubbed my forehead with one hand. "Has it already spread all over the internet?"

"What do you think? Such a rare breed is hard to come by; even melodramatic TV dramas can't portray it. Netizens are now divided into two camps, arguing fiercely."

"..." I closed my eyes, my headache getting worse.

I do want revenge on them, but I don't want to drag myself into this quagmire.

If this matter escalates and blows up, I will also suffer the consequences.

"Xiao Wan, are you alright? I saw you got hit." Li Yunwei was angry, but she immediately asked me about it.

I said casually, "It's nothing, just a few slaps."

"Your dad went too far! Hitting you in front of so many guests is absolutely outrageous! I should have gone; at least I could have fought for you!"

Weiwei was originally supposed to be my bridesmaid, and the bridesmaid dress was already prepared.

Because of this unexpected turn of events, I didn't let Weiwei attend today, nor did my maternal grandmother or aunt.

“Jiang Haiyang is not my father. I have severed ties with him,” I said indifferently.

"It's good that it's over! Calling such a beastly father is like shortening your own lifespan."

"Hmm..." I responded faintly, still thinking about how to quell the online controversy.

I don't want this to affect the company and my career.

Hearing that I sounded weak and listless, Li Yunwei asked worriedly, "How are you? Where are you? I'll come and keep you company."
