Chapter 25 The Jade Bracelet is Given to Miss Jiang

Su Shenglin, high above, saw me too, and even nodded slightly to me.

One second I felt like I was falling into an abyss, and the next second I felt like I had been brought back from the dead.

Overjoyed, I smiled at him from afar.

I am incredibly grateful. Although the jade bracelet didn't return to me, the fact that it ended up in Su Shenglin's name is the best outcome in my opinion.

"Three hundred million! Three hundred million, anyone else willing to bet?"

"Three hundred million once, three hundred million twice, three hundred million three times! Sold! The new owner of the mutton fat jade bracelet is—Mr. Su Shenglin!" The auctioneer was so excited and ecstatic that his voice cracked.

The entire audience cheered and applauded, everyone looking back excitedly at the second floor.

Su Shenglin sat there calmly and serenely, as if he were an emperor receiving the adoration of the masses.

There was someone standing next to him, and I heard people around me saying, "Isn't the person standing next to Mr. Su the owner of China Guardian Auction House?"

"Yes! He's the auction house owner."

"Who exactly is this person? He's so mysterious! The owner of the prestigious China Guardian Auction House is standing next to him like a servant."

"You don't know the Su family? The Su family... this, this is—so prestigious and illustrious that I could talk about it for three days and three nights!"

As I listened to the astonished and admiring comments from the crowd, I slowly sat back down, my heart filled with a myriad of complex emotions.

Jiang Yi went from joy to anger, feeling extremely frustrated, and was currently venting her anger on Gu Yanqing.

Gu Yanqing was trying to coax him, but she seemed absent-minded, though she also looked relieved.

I estimate that even if he really needed 200 million, he wouldn't be able to come up with it right away, so this is a way to get him out of a tight spot.

After the transaction was completed, the staff took the jade bracelet off the display shelf and carefully placed it into a brocade box.

My gaze remained fixed on the stage, hoping to see Su Shenglin come to collect the jade bracelet.

At the same time, I fantasize that maybe one day when I've made my company bigger and stronger, and earned enough 300 million, I can buy it from him.

Su Shenglin did not appear.

It was his secretary, Ji Ming, who came to pick up the bracelet.

I watched as Secretary Ji walked towards me with the brocade box, assuming he was just passing by. As he got closer, I nodded to him politely.

Unexpectedly, Secretary Ji walked up to me and stopped.

Everyone present stared at Secretary Ji with a mixture of envy and admiration in their eyes.

When Secretary Ji stopped in front of me, all those gazes stopped as well.

In the silence, Secretary Ji said respectfully and politely, "Mr. Su instructed that this jade bracelet be given to Miss Jiang."

Whoosh—

The entire room erupted in commotion, with many people even standing up in shock, craning their necks to stare at me.

Gu Yanqing and Jiang Yi, who were separated by only an aisle, were also shocked, their expressions changing drastically.

Jiang Yi stammered, "What...what's going on? A bracelet worth three hundred million, a...a gift?"

I was equally shocked and speechless as I stared at the bracelet in the brocade box.

"Miss Jiang?" Secretary Ji gently reminded me when she saw that I was unresponsive.

I snapped out of my daze, swallowed, and then subconsciously looked back upstairs.

But the private room was empty; Su Shenglin had vanished without a trace.

He remained as low-key and mysterious as ever, disappearing without a trace as soon as he realized he had been recognized.

“Secretary Ji, this is too precious, I…” I stood up, my words faltering.

Although I dream of getting this jade bracelet back, it was bought for 300 million and given to me for nothing.

I dare not answer.

“Miss Jiang, this is Mr. Su’s instruction. If you have any questions, please speak directly with Mr. Su. Please accept this.” Secretary Ji pushed the brocade box further into my arms.

Unable to refuse such a kind offer, I could only gratefully accept the jade bracelet, saying, "Please thank Mr. Su for me, Secretary Ji."

"OK."

Secretary Ji smiled and nodded, then strode away with a graceful and decisive air.

I stood there, continuing to be bombarded by the gazes of all the wealthy people in the room.

The way they looked at me clearly held a hint of admiration, even jealousy.

The mysterious and low-profile heir of the Su family, the unapproachable Second Master Su in the eyes of outsiders, suddenly appeared, bought a jade bracelet, and casually gifted it to a down-on-her-luck heiress who only had a few pretty faces.

I dare not imagine how this matter will escalate and become a hot topic of discussion.

I don't know if this is a blessing or a curse for me.

But in the moment, I did regain all my dignity and gave Gu Yanqing and Jiang Yi a resounding slap in the face.

At this moment, I would gladly die for Su Shenglin.

"Jiang Wan, when did you meet Second Master Su?" Jiang Yi could no longer be arrogant, and stared at him, directly asking the question that made her jealous.

I clutched the brocade box, gave them a wry smile, and said, "What's it to you?"

"you--"

Having obtained what I wanted, I had no desire to linger and prepared to leave early.

Jiang Yi got the short end of the stick with me, and turned around and threw a tantrum at Gu Yanqing, "Get out of here! What are you still doing here? I've lost everything I wanted!"

Gu Yanqing was stunned, as if he had suffered a major blow and had not yet recovered.

I paid no attention to it, picked up the brocade box, and left.

Judging that Su Shenglin hadn't left yet, I quickly chased after him as soon as I left the venue.

As I passed by a row of lounges, I heard voices. I assumed Su Shenglin was in the lounge, so I knocked on each door to check.

But they couldn't find him.

This person is really strange; he's like a dragon whose head is seen but not its tail.

Once I was sure he had left, I turned back from the end of the corridor.

As I passed through a half-open door, the familiar sounds of arguing drifted in, slightly drawing my attention.

"Gu Yanqing, don't think I don't know that you regret it, you regret abandoning Jiang Wan, and you regret marrying me!"

"Jiang Yi, can you please stop making a fuss? I spend all my time with you every day except when I'm working, what more do you want? I've fulfilled all your requests. You said you wanted to come to the auction, so I canceled two meetings to bring you here."
