Huo Xiaolong felt that there wasn't enough time in the day. She had to go to school during the day and practice martial arts at home in the afternoon, leaving only a little time for herself in the evening. These past few days, she had even started making underwear. The young girl was a bit of a perfectionist; if she was going to do something, she wanted it to be the best. She pulled Hou Xiangxiang over to discuss how to match them nicely.
"I think we should add this black veil on top of this," the little dumpling said, holding up the black veil in her hand.
“Okay, it will look even better with it on,” Hou Xiangxiang agreed.
"Kids don't think about temptations; they just think it looks good," Huo Xiaolong continued.
"This color suits Sister Mando perfectly, I'll give it to her tomorrow."
"What about this color?" Hou Xiangxiang asked, pointing to the light cherry blossom-colored underwear that had already been made.
"Of course it's Sister Chunying! This one is my mother's, this one is my mom's, this one is your mom's, and the rest are for your embroiderer. It took us three days to make this much. If we finish this for the whole building, we won't be able to go to class for seven days."
Huo Xiaolong's eyes had been a little sore from looking at these lingeries for the past few days, so she and her girlfriends washed their eyes with the spiritual spring water.
“Then I’ll show it to the embroiderers at home tomorrow, and then give it to my sisters after it’s all finished, otherwise it will seem like we’re being biased,” Hou Xiangxiang said.
The little dumpling thought for a moment and nodded.
"Okay, then make two smaller ones."
"The young one?" Hou Xiangxiang asked back.
"No, make a bunch of small ones, no need to add this yarn or anything, just small ones. I'll tell you the size tomorrow, and make them thinner and more comfortable."
"Why bother with all that stuff?" Miss Hou continued to ask.
"I made this thing for my older sisters to practice with. They bind their chests every day, how could it not hurt? They're all still growing."
"You're such a small person, why do you worry so much?" Hou Xiangxiang felt that Huo Xiaolong thought about so many things every day. He would notice almost every need of everyone. She really wanted to ask her little sister Long'er if this was tiring.
"Because my sisters are good to me~" Huo Xiaolong said.
"Won't you get tired doing this?"
"No," the little dumpling blurted out, a happy smile on its face.
She wasn't tired because she had experienced the hardships of her past life, and that's why she knew how wonderful her current life was. She wasn't trying to please anyone; she just cherished it all the more.
Cherish everyone around you and live each day to the fullest.
That way, we won't let down God for giving her a second chance at life.
“Look, little sister, the moon.”
Two little girls stood on a stool, their arms resting on the windowsill, their faces pressed against the moon. They wanted to get closer and closer to the moon.
"The moon is so beautiful tonight."
"Yeah, it feels really bright."
"Long'er, do you think there really is Chang'e on the moon?" Hou Xiangxiang turned to ask her friend.
Huo Xiaolong pursed her lips. She didn't know about this either. In her previous life, the country didn't have this technology. Landing on the moon was no problem, but they couldn't just touch the entire moon to see if there was a Chang'e.
"I think so."
You ask a silly question, I'll give a silly answer.
"Then do you think she'll be lonely? She's left Hou Yi, she must miss her husband a lot." Hou Xiangxiang's questions were getting weirder and weirder, but that's how kids are, they say whatever comes to mind.
"Probably, but it's not a big deal. After all these years, Sister Chang'e must be used to it and can live without a man."
"Can you live without a man?" Hou Xiangxiang asked rhetorically.
“Yeah, that’s true. Everyone can live without anyone else in this world,” Huo Xiaolong replied.
"Why are the women in that building getting married? Wouldn't it be more carefree for them?" Hou Xiangxiang asked, somewhat puzzled.
“Living happily and getting married are not mutually exclusive,” the little dumpling said earnestly to Hou Xiangxiang.
“I think everyone in the world longs for happiness. If two people are happy together, they get married; if they are not happy, they separate. The most important thing is whether the two people can still be themselves after getting married. Hou Xiangxiang, do you believe me? If the sisters in my building were to stay at home every day like your mother did before, managing the household and having concubines come to bother them from time to time, they definitely wouldn’t get married.”
The girl nodded. Indeed, her mother had been living a very stifled life before, and because of that, she was somewhat reluctant to get married. If marriage was a cage, she would rather not have it.
"So the problem isn't about getting married, but about people—whether you can meet the right person."
"We're still so young, let's not talk about this anymore, marriage is still a long way off!" Hou Xiangxiang felt a little at ease as she smelled the fragrance of the flowers in the yard.
I am no longer afraid, because I know that if that day ever comes, if I am ever trapped in the four directions, a girl will come riding by to rescue me.
Chunying and Huo Xiaocheng were newlyweds and had been making a lot of noise these past few days. Just as the young man was about to lift his inner garment by candlelight, he saw a pale cherry blossom veil reflected on his chest.
—Whoosh
The girl was worried because of the sudden nosebleed. This was the second time Huo Xiaocheng had a nosebleed in front of her. Was he not feeling well? Maybe she should go see Doctor Gu tomorrow.
"What happened? Why is your nose bleeding?"
The young man waved his hand to indicate that he was alright, and took the handkerchief from Chunying's hand, saying...
"It's okay, I'm going outside to cool off. It should be hot there."
Huo Xiaocheng pushed open the door and was catching his breath in the courtyard when he heard the sound of water coming from Fengyue Tower. He looked over and saw Lu Wangji.
The sickly beauty, like myself, had mottled spots on her face.
"What... what's wrong with you?" Huo Xiaocheng asked, a little embarrassed. He was embarrassed because he couldn't be with Lu Wangji, since they had been married for so long.
