Huo Xiaolong looked down at the several different colored banners; the moment had finally come.
On the vast grasslands, the two armies faced each other, the atmosphere heavy and tense. The banners of the Xiongnu fluttered in the wind, warhorses neighed, and horns sounded across the sky.
Opposite them, the Huo family army stood in neat ranks, their swords and spears like a forest, their morale high.
The battlefield was deathly silent, broken only occasionally by the sound of the wind and the clatter of horses' hooves. Both sides knew that a life-or-death struggle was about to unfold. Each person's breathing became heavy, as if they could hear their own heartbeat.
The Xiongnu began to advance slowly, their horses' hooves echoing across the grasslands like rolling thunder. The Central Plains army, however, remained motionless, their eyes resolute, showing no fear whatsoever.
It wasn't time for the two generals to compete yet. The flags changed, and the two sides became entangled. Ya Lanyu watched from afar as the girl holding the flags took the lead.
The soldiers' combat capabilities, which he was so proud of, were not an advantage against her.
"General Huo is fighting with the Second Prince?"
The people of the Fengshi tribe were somewhat taken aback. Everything was fine in the morning, but in the afternoon, they heard horns sounding everywhere, and then the military camp was empty except for some cooks.
"The Second Prince is famous for his superhuman strength, a warrior of the grasslands. I wonder how General Huo is doing." Little Stone sat on the hillside. He really wanted to go ahead and see Huo Xiaolong, but he couldn't cause trouble for the girl.
When Huo Xiaolong saw the imposing man ordering someone to bring him weapons, he couldn't contain his excitement.
"Little Grass, he's personally leading the way. I'm going to meet him."
Li Xiaocao followed beside the girl, also trailing behind, and said with some hesitation.
"General, the ladies and your father all forbid you from participating. They say that the commander-in-chief should not put himself in danger unless absolutely necessary."
Indeed, including Xiao Lanyi, they generally wouldn't personally take to the battlefield unless absolutely necessary. What would happen if the commander-in-chief were in any danger?
The red-armored girl hesitated for only a moment before speaking.
"I'll go, I absolutely won't get hurt myself, at the very least I'll trade one for one with him."
"Yes, sir."
Li Xiaocao will no longer try to persuade her.
Ya Lanyu, wielding a heavy hammer, charged straight at Erhei. The man, who trained in martial arts with strength, trembled slightly as he held a weapon for the first time. Erhei knew he was no match for her; if it really came to a one-on-one fight, he would need Zhang Mama to come instead.
Er Ya was right beside him. When Huo Xiaolong settled these older sisters in the military camp, he always put the couple together. War is no different from anything else; there's no tomorrow. Even if they went to the battlefield, he tried to arrange for them to be together.
The girl felt that if she were in her shoes, she would also be willing to die with her lover.
The round-faced woman tightened the reins and turned back to Erhei's side. She heard the Second Prince say to his husband.
“You are not like the people of the Central Plains. The people of the Central Plains are not as tall as you. With such skills, you must be a descendant of the warriors of my grasslands. As long as you come with me, you will have everything you need, including money, beautiful women and high status.”
Er Ya was immediately displeased. Money and status aside, if you're talking about beauty, who isn't a beauty?
Er Ya has gone from a round-faced girl to a round-faced woman. The weight she painstakingly lost has all been regained by her husband. Er Hei, wielding his large ladle, is always talking, chattering incessantly at Er Ya.
"Why are you so thin? What if a strong wind blows you away? Then I won't have a wife."
So now Er Ya is nearly 1.7 meters tall, slightly chubby, and quite tall from behind, probably weighing around 140 or 150 pounds, which Er Hei adores.
"Do I look good this fat? Look at my sister-in-law, and then look at those girls. What kind of taste do you have?"
Erhei scratched his head, letting his wife's fierce slap land on him, and then said frankly...
"You look good. You were so chubby when I first met you. Chubby is beautiful."
Er Ya is the kind of person who gains weight even from drinking water. She spends her days wielding a large ladle in the kitchen and practicing her skills, so her body doesn't feel any strain at all. In other words, you can't do this kind of physical work without having some fat on your body.
To lose weight, you have to starve yourself. The girl starved herself until she was dizzy and disoriented. She even got dizzy when she swung a big spoon. Erhei felt sorry for her.
It was one thing before they got married, but after they got married, Erhei wouldn't let her lose any more weight.
The round-faced woman, wielding two hammers, met Ya Lanyu's attack. Her hands were split and bleeding slightly, but she stood before the man as if she felt no pain and said...
"No need for you to trouble yourself. There are beauties in the Central Plains as well. In particular, you'd better not meddle in my husband's private affairs."
The couple always knew that there are always people more capable than themselves, and that there is always something beyond their understanding.
Unable to defeat the Second Prince by brute force alone, the two of them attacked together. Their heavy hammers clashed, sometimes sparks flying. Knowing they were outmatched, the couple tried to turn back and call for reinforcements.
"division……"
Before the second word could be uttered, the girl in red and riding a white horse drew her knife and made a move. The two stepped aside, clearing a space for Huo Xiaolong.
The blade descended from the sky and clashed with the heavy hammer inlaid with dark patterns. Huo Xiaolong looked at Ya Lanyu, who did not need to withdraw her strength but did not retreat, and could not hide the joy in his eyes.
The tall man felt his arms trembling, and he held his breath to keep it from showing.
After years of being virtually unbeatable on the grasslands, he has finally met his nemesis today.
Even your strength, which you're so proud of, won't do.
Huo Xiaolong's hands were also a little numb from the shock, but she was still happy.
"You're really tough."
She's even more resistant to being hit than Jiang Tianxin.
He didn't say the last sentence, afraid that Jiang Tianxin would hear it.
The man remained silent, afraid of expending his last breath. He then saw the girl in red leap from her horse, raising her Green Dragon Crescent Blade above her head, the blade aimed directly at his face.
