Chapter 73 Mandala

"Can't it be clean? Won't it smell bad in the summer?"

"It didn't smell before," Huo Xiaolong said.

"There was no blood before, Long'er."

"That's right."

This darkroom has probably been used the most in the last few months since it was built; indeed, no one had ever been inside before.

When the young maids finished cleaning the room where Wei Ci had committed suicide, the leaders looked at each other for a moment.

"This dagger?"

People are relatively easy to deal with, but weapons and such are more difficult.

"Pull it off, then we'll have the blacksmith melt it down later."

"If someone were to show me this dagger design and ask questions, wouldn't they be discovered?"

"Then take it apart. Use the handle as firewood, and let the tip melt."

"The hilt of this knife is covered in jewels, it looks like it's made of gold."

This worried the girls greatly, as they had collected all the Hunnic triangular knives and piled them up in the woodshed.

"Pull it out first, and we'll talk about it later," Ping'er said.

"OK"

The girls worked together to stuff Wei Ci into a sack, then cleaned the room thoroughly, leaving not a single weed behind. Only then did they carry the sack and their belongings out of the darkroom.

"Are you done cleaning up, sis?"

"Okay, all done. Now you can go in and play if you want."

Huo Xiaolong nodded; he was finally able to go inside and take a look at the torture instruments.

"Mom, I want to go play in the darkroom!"

The little dumpling couldn't reach the light switch in the darkroom, so she could only call for her mother.

"Are your sister Ping'er and the others done cleaning up?" Cen Ang asked, picking up Huo Xiaolong.

"Yes, it's all done."

The woman turned on the switch and was greeted by a fragrant floral scent.

"How did they clean it up, daughter?" Mrs. Cen asked, puzzled.

"Just tidy it up like you normally would when cleaning a building, make sure it's spotless, then sprinkle some air freshener."

The woman looked puzzled. She knew these young girls were capable, observant, and quick. But they didn't need to be this capable! This was a darkroom! A darkroom!

Cen Ang carried Huo Xiaolong into the torture chamber, his expression shifting from initial confusion to numbness.

Destroy it all, do whatever you want! What torture chamber is completely spotless?! The torture instruments are so clean they're practically glowing! Not only that, even the fire tongs she used for branding people are polished to a shine! There's no blood left on them.

Looking at the prison cells where the prisoners were held, apart from the weeds that were still there for people to sleep on, they had cleaned the dirty walls.

"Oh my god, Mom, this place is like an exhibition hall, it's no different from the counter at Huaxuetang!"

The clean instruments of torture seemed to await their rightful owners, and it was unknown which lucky and discerning person would be chosen for them. Just like the orderly displays of merchandise at Huaxuetang, they sat quietly on the counter, waiting to be selected.

When Cen's mother led Huo Xiaolong out of the darkroom, she felt that her breathing was much easier.

You can't really say anything about it. Those young girls really did a great job. Just tell me, wasn't it clean? It had to be clean, right?

The little dumpling grumbled and ran off to watch Zhang's mother cook, leaving Cen Ang alone sitting at the door of the darkroom, slapping his thigh.

In a few days, Gao Di will replace this mechanism! No one but her will be able to get in!
