Extra: Raising a Cub
Lu Shiman sat on the soft sofa, his eyes fell on the two little figures playing on the carpet in the living room, and he sighed silently.
She looked at her daughter, who was lying in front of the sofa, lowering her head and concentrating on biting the sofa cushion with her newly grown baby teeth, with a look of helpless doting in her eyes.
Lu Yuzheng walked over to his mother on his short legs, his brows furrowed tightly as he stared at his sister, who was chewing on the mat, with a serious expression. He asked in a crisp voice, "Mom, why does my sister look so silly?"
Hearing this, Lu Shiman raised her eyebrows and shifted her gaze from her daughter to her son's little face which was filled with serious confusion.
She tilted her head and thought for a moment, then smiled mischievously: "Maybe it's because if the brother is stupid, the sister will be stupid too."
When Lu Yuzheng heard this, his face immediately tensed up. He straightened up like a little adult and retorted seriously, "Mom, outsourcing responsibilities is not good!"
He extended his little index finger and pointed it seriously in the air: "You can't blame your sister's stupidity on me as her brother."
He paused, as if he felt that denial alone was not enough, and immediately offered constructive advice: "Mom, you can blame Dad for your sister's stupidity, but you can't blame it on me, your son."
After saying that, he imitated the usual behavior of grandfather Xie, putting his two little hands behind his back, slightly puffing out his little chest, and lowering his chin a little too high, putting on a calm and composed look.
He had practiced this set of movements many times in private, and felt that it was very powerful and had a great feel.
"Mom, you're an adult now..." He continued in a tone of imitation, a bit of instruction, "You have to learn to reflect on yourself."
He tried to recall the words his uncle had taught him: "My uncle said, 'I examine myself three times a day: am I disloyal when I work for others? Am I trustworthy when I interact with friends? Do I practice what I preach?'"
Lu Yuzheng repeated it word by word, and although some of his pronunciations were still a little childish, his meaning was expressed quite clearly.
Then, he changed the subject and pointed his little finger at his mother accurately: "So, mom, your sister is stupid, you need to reflect on yourself."
He imitated the previous sentence structure and began to improvise: "How can you serve your mother without fulfilling her promise? How can you interact with your children without loving them?"
After saying this, he tilted his head, as if waiting for his mother's deep reflection.
"Mother..."
Lu Shiman only felt his head buzzing, as if countless little bees were having a party inside.
She held her forehead helplessly and looked at her son who was chattering away, constantly inputting profound truths.
Oh my God, who can tell me who this child inherited his genes from?
How can this little mouth be so talkative all day long?
"Son..." Lu Shiman smiled gently, stretched out her hand, and covered her son's still-opening mouth: "Can you...close your little mouth for a moment?"
Louis Zheng was talking excitedly when his mother's hand suddenly covered his mouth.
His big black eyes widened instantly, and he made a "mmmmm" sound of protest, and his little body twisted in dissatisfaction.
He tried to pry his mother's hands apart and continue his 'instructions', but Lu Shiman was determined to keep him quiet for a while this time.
After Lu Tangxi finished chewing on the sofa cushion, he turned around and smiled foolishly at his mother and brother.
She staggered towards Lu Shiman, and although she was just over a year old, she couldn't pronounce words clearly: "Mama~"
Lu Shiman let go of his son and opened his arms: "Has our little Tangxi finished eating?"
Lu Tangxi threw himself into Lu Shiman’s arms: “Silly, stupid.”
Hearing the words her daughter had learned, Lu Shiman turned to look at Lu Yuzheng and said, "Look at what you've done. My sister has learned it."
Lu Yuzheng walked to the French window, with his back to his mother and sister: "Mom... forget it, if you say it's me, then it's me. Dad said that whatever Mom says is right."
The light of the setting sun shines on the little person, making him so cute.
Lu Shiman held little Tangxi in her arms, tilted her head and stared at her son's back with a smile on her lips.
There was a sound of a door opening in the entrance hall.
Lu Shiman and Lu Tangxi turned their heads at the same time, and the same light flashed in their eyes, one big and one small.
Ji Linshen was holding the wheel cake that Lu Shiman had specifically asked for.
"Husband~" Lu Shiman put Lu Tangxi on the baby sofa, stood up and rushed over to hug Ji Linshen.
Then, she buried her head in his collarbone and sniffed madly.
Ji Lin hugged her waist and kissed her forehead. "The osmanthus flavor is sold out. I'll buy some for you tomorrow. You can just eat it today."
Lu Shiman pulled away, raised his head and kissed Ji Linshen on the corner of his lips, took the bag from him, turned around and walked back to the sofa: "Go buy it earlier next time~"
"Well, go earlier tomorrow. It's my fault." Ji Linshen loosened his tie, his eyes falling on the small sculpture in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
When Lu Yuzheng heard his father's voice, he wanted to rush over and hug him.
But he is a man and he is still trying to show off. He can't be so cowardly as to ask for a hug.
Ji Linshen withdrew his gaze, walked to the kitchen, poured a glass of water for Lu Shiman, bent down and picked up Lu Tangxi.
Lu Tangxi hugged Ji Linshen’s neck with his small fleshy hands, and like Lu Shiman, he tried to smell his father’s scent.
Then she bit Ji Linshen's tie and soaked his shirt with saliva.
Ji Linshen gently pushed his daughter's forehead, his tone gentle and doting: "Biting everywhere? How are you just like mommy?"
Lu Shiman took out the wheel cake and took a bite: "I didn't bite you everywhere, don't talk nonsense."
Ji Linshen held his daughter and walked to stand next to his son. He reached out and rubbed Lu Yuzheng's head: "Our teacher Xiao Zheng, are you thinking about your 5-year-old life again?"
Lu Yuzheng looked up at Ji Linshen: "Dad, Mom said that my sister is stupid because of me."
He filed a complaint.
Ji Linshen chuckled, changed his arm to hold his daughter, and held Lu Yuzheng with the other hand: "Don't listen to what mom says."
Lu Yuzheng nodded. As expected, apart from his uncle, only his father understood him at home.
"It's obvious that you took after your sister."
Lu Yuzheng's eyes suddenly widened: "Dad!"
"Speak softly, your ears will be deafened." Ji Linshen carried the two of them and sat down next to Lu Shiman.
Lu Yuzheng and Lu Tangxi sat on his lap respectively.
Lu Shiman handed another wheel cake to his son: "Eat it, Zheng Laba."
The aroma filled his nose. Lu Yuzheng took it, lowered his head, took a bite and mumbled: "Mom and Dad, I'm grown up now. It's hard for you to deceive me now."
"You should learn to treat me as an adult and talk to me as an equal, instead of treating me like a five-year-old and coaxing me with toys and snacks."
"Dad, I'm..."
Ji Linshen and Lu Shiman looked at each other helplessly.
It started again.
Their son, the loud speaker, started broadcasting again.
