Chapter 213 Imperial Marriage

The entire Situ Mansion was burned to ashes.

Fortunately, it was daytime and Situ Qinghe was not at home.

The maids and servants in the mansion also ran out in time, and no one was hurt.

Therefore, Situ Qinghe had to move everyone to an unused house temporarily.

Since moving in, Situ Mingji has kept himself locked in his room.

At first, Situ Qinghe did not know the reason behind it.

They assumed that Situ Mingji had been attacked on his way back and was frightened, and that he was in a bad mood because his clothes and jewelry had been burned. They thought he would be fine after a while.

However, several more days passed, and despite Situ Qinghe sending her a lot of jewelry, she remained the same.

This made Situ Qinghe start to worry, and he originally wanted to go and check on his daughter.

But just then, some people in the court began to impeach him.

He was so preoccupied with his worries that he couldn't pay any attention to her at all.

The arsonist has still not been caught.

At this time, he was summoned to the palace by Emperor Rongcheng.

It wasn't until Situ Qinghe came out of the palace that he vaguely noticed something unusual in Emperor Rongcheng's words.

He rushed back to the manor and went straight to Situ Mingji's room, intending to ask what had happened.

But they were surprised to find Situ Mingji hanging from the roof beam.

He was startled and quickly grabbed her, then called for help, which successfully rescued Situ Mingji.

However, after Situ Mingji woke up, she didn't say a word about why she was so upset.

Situ Qinghe was helpless and dared not mention it again. When facing Situ Mingji, he became more and more cautious.

Occasionally, I would find her some articles to read in order to comfort her and prevent her from having any negative thoughts.

And so, several more days passed.

Situ Mingji's expression finally improved a lot.

Unexpectedly, she was suddenly awakened that very night.

Then she saw someone on top of her.

The man's face was strangely familiar.

During this period, it frequently appeared in his dreams, and its "ferocious and terrifying" appearance made Situ Mingji hate it to the bone.

And now, he was still pressing down on her, just like that day in the carriage, one hand tightly holding her captive, and then constantly giving in to her every whim.

She tried to call out, but he covered her mouth with his hand.

She struggled incessantly, but to no avail.

Only when the person above stopped moving did they breathe a sigh of relief and release Situ Mingji.

Situ Mingji, however, was ashen-faced and had no strength left to struggle.

The man left quickly after finishing.

Situ Mingji didn't know who he was, but he wasn't as devastated as he was the first time.

When she woke up the next day, she immediately went out and personally bought medicinal herbs from various pharmacies. She then brewed a contraceptive soup and drank it, finally feeling relieved.

Afterwards, she ordered her men to surround her courtyard tightly, preparing to capture the person next time.

However, a few days later, the person did not come. But Situ Mingji learned a new piece of news from Situ Qinghe.

Emperor Rongcheng actually bestowed a marriage upon her!

Moreover, the person to whom the marriage was arranged was the eldest son of the Li family in the south.

Although Situ Mingji had lived in Tiandu for a long time, he had heard of this man's deeds.

I heard he's a spoiled brat who spends his time catching cats and dogs, bullying men and women, and committing all sorts of evil deeds.

Upon hearing the news, Situ Mingji felt dizzy and collapsed.

After waking up, she couldn't stop crying.

She simply couldn't understand why Emperor Rongcheng would make her marry such a dissolute playboy.

Upon learning the news, Situ Qinghe guessed that Situ Mingji had probably offended Emperor Rongcheng.

After he investigated everything through various methods, he finally understood what foolish thing Situ Mingji had done.

After learning what had happened, he slapped Situ Mingji across the face.

"You're too clever for your own good!"

"Do you think you can do whatever you want just because you have some skills?"

Are matters of the palace something that we, as mere subjects, can interfere with?

"The Emperor Rongcheng spared your life today out of respect for your father. Now that he's letting you marry that纨绔 (a spoiled brat), he's giving you a way out."

"If you marry him obediently right now, we can save the Situ family."

"Otherwise, our entire Situ Mansion will be buried with you."

It was only at this moment that Situ Mingji realized that Emperor Rongcheng had not been unaware of his thoughts.

Rather, he simply didn't point it out.

but……

She thought about how she had been violated time and time again.

Given her current physical condition, if she were to marry into that family and that playboy were to discover her, it would likely lead to even more serious consequences.

She opened her mouth, wanting to tell Situ Qinghe about being forced into it.

However, looking at Situ Qinghe's cold and hard face, she didn't say a word.

She understands her father.

The Situ family rose from nothing, relying entirely on the accumulation of their ancestors and their father's keen observation of Emperor Rongcheng's moods. He followed Emperor Rongcheng's instructions step by step, which is how he gradually gained Emperor Rongcheng's trust and reached his current position.

Now that the Situ family is just getting back on track, her father would never let her ruin the entire Situ mansion.

So, Situ Mingji hesitated, but in the end, he didn't tell anyone about being bullied.

Jingyu Palace.

As dusk fell.

Night gradually enveloped the entire courtyard.

Everyone in Jingyu Palace sat upright, heads held high, looking towards the courtyard gate.

Jiang Xianhao had already finished bathing. She changed into a comfortable undergarment, and looked much more gentle and graceful.

However, her face was very pale.

Even her fair and delicate fingertips became incredibly cold.

Jingtan was worried that Jiang Xian was cold, so she specially draped a fox fur cloak over her shoulders.

However, this caused her to touch Jiang Xianhao's fingertips, and she was immediately startled.

"Your Highness, why are your hands so cold?"

Jiang Xianhao shook her head upon hearing this, unwilling to explain further.

At this moment, Emperor Rongcheng strode in.

Upon seeing this, everyone quickly bowed in respect.

His gaze remained fixed on Jiang Xianhao, without even glancing at the others. He simply waved his hand, dismissing them.

The door closed.

Jiang Xianhao then looked at Emperor Rongcheng.

Her long eyelashes, like a small fan, slowly lifted, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes that showed a hint of timidity and shyness.

Instantly, Emperor Rongcheng's heart pounded, as if he had returned to his youth, to the same eagerness he felt on his wedding night.

Before he could even say a word, he grabbed Jiang Xianhao and, ignoring her struggles, pinned her against the wall and lowered his head to kiss her.

Jiang Xianhao quickly turned her head away.

Rong Cheng's low kiss landed on her ear, and then on her neck.

Immediately afterwards, he got up, had someone carry him to the bed, and then pinned the person down beneath him.

Jiang Xianhao, however, kept her head turned away, refusing to let Emperor Rongcheng kiss her, and even more so, refusing to look at Emperor Rongcheng's face.
