"If I'm not mistaken, your daughter's childbirth was extremely risky and damaged her health, so she will never have the chance to get pregnant again in this lifetime."
Lanxin and Xiaoman's faces turned even paler, and they looked at the imperial physician with shock.
These are secrets that few people besides Gu Jingchun know.
Even Xiaoman and Lanxin, who served her closely, only knew the general idea; they never expected that the doctor would know so much.
The doctor sighed and continued:
"This poison is extremely harmful to the body. Even though the poison has been neutralized, there will still be residues. That's why your daughter is especially afraid of the cold in winter."
If it's not properly cared for, it might even shorten its lifespan!
After these words were spoken, Lanxin and Xiaoman's gazes towards the doctor changed from shock to admiration.
The two immediately knelt down.
"Doctor, please save my young lady and young master. Once my young lady wakes up, I will reward you handsomely."
Upon hearing this, the doctor stroked his beard and spoke.
"I am unworthy, my surname is Sheng, and my given name is Quan."
"I don't want any reward. You can't do what I want anyway, so I'll just wake up your young lady first and let her make the decision."
As Sheng Quan spoke, he immediately had Lan Xin bring out the freshly picked herbs. After processing them, he had Lan Xin take them to brew.
He then took out his silver needles again and first applied them to Gu Jingchun's body. After a moment, he wiped the sweat from his forehead and said softly:
"Give her the medicine as soon as it's ready."
"After taking another dose tomorrow, he should wake up."
Upon hearing this, Xiaoman immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
After Lan Xin finished feeding Gu Jingchun the medicine, Ye Wenxi, looking disheveled, finally returned with the help of the guards.
Upon seeing so many refugees in the courtyard, his face turned pale. Without needing the guards' help, he rushed into the house.
However, as soon as he went in, Lanxin pushed him out.
"Young Master Wenxi, you're back."
As she spoke, she pushed Ye Wenxi away.
"Miss just took her medicine and hasn't woken up yet!"
However, despite Lanxin's objections, Ye Wenxi insisted on rushing in to check on Gu Jingchun's condition.
He breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that Gu Jingchun and Gu Jinxi were both safe and sound, but then felt a sharp pain in his ankle.
Just then, Lanxin pushed him again, and his body fell backward uncontrollably.
At the crucial moment, Xiaoman helped him up, preventing him from falling.
He breathed a sigh of relief, but then his eyes closed and he lost consciousness.
Xiaoman and Lanxin exchanged another glance, then called out in unison, "Dr. Sheng!"
That day, all the refugees were cleared out of the courtyard.
They all struggled painfully, and when they realized they were finally out of the courtyard, they ignored their physical pain and struggled to walk away.
However, some were in a worse state, with their bones so badly broken that they couldn't walk at all.
I could only lie there in despair, watching the sky turn from bright to dark, and then from dark to bright again.
The commotion here was quite significant, which naturally attracted the attention of the villagers.
Some of the bolder ones peeked out and discovered that the refugees were lying on the ground. They then went forward and took back the things that had been stolen from them.
The neighbor who reported Gu Jinxi never expected that Gu Jinxi and her group would be so capable.
They were terrified that Gu Jinxi and the others would retaliate against them, and they trembled with fear, so they quickly cleaned the room inside and out.
However, because there were too many refugees outside, the guards were worried that Gu Jingchun and Gu Jinxi might get hurt, so they stayed in the courtyard and didn't sleep at all.
This made the other person even more frightened, and the next morning, he brought some food he had made to apologize.
Lanxin and Xiaoman snorted coldly when they saw them.
She hadn't intended to give them a friendly look, but seeing the food they brought over, which would fill the guards' stomachs, they simply stopped talking.
The neighbors breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the people had taken their things.
Meanwhile, no one noticed that among the refugees, a petite woman had taken advantage of everyone's inattention and quietly drove away in a carriage.
He sped along, driving through the wilderness, not knowing how long he had traveled, until finally, exhausted, he stopped in front of a dilapidated temple.
He stumbled into the dilapidated temple and opened one of the mechanisms.
Suddenly, a deep passage was revealed behind the Buddha statue.
He lit the tinderbox and slowly walked down.
He walked for a long time before finally stopping in front of a secret room.
Inside the secret room sat a man with gray hair.
He was dressed in a Taoist robe, his body was thin and bony, he had two mustaches above his lips and his beard was white, giving him a rather incongruous air of otherworldly elegance.
He was meditating.
After hearing the noise, she slowly opened her eyes.
Seeing the disheveled state of the person in front of him, he immediately understood everything.
"Smack!"
A soft sound.
The Taoist priest's whisk struck the man's face like a whip, instantly turning his cheeks red.
"You haven't even gotten the job done, and you still have the nerve to come back?"
Upon hearing this, the man felt even more ashamed and immediately knelt on the ground and kowtowed.
"Master, this is really not my fault. It's just that the opponent's strength is too great."
"Smack!"
Another dagger landed in front of the man.
