She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Gu Jinxi lying on the bed and breathing normally, then turned to look at Mo Junxing.
What did you do to him?
Mo Junxing, however, slightly curled the corners of his lips.
"He's fine, he's just asleep."
"I have already had someone examine it."
Upon hearing this, Gu Jingchun breathed a sigh of relief, but his gaze remained fixed intently on Mo Junxing.
"Mo Junxing, what exactly do you want to do?"
"How dare you attempt to assassinate the Empress Dowager? Do you really think that we, the Great Cheng, are without temper?"
Gu Jingchun's voice was loud with anger, but Mo Junxing's hands did not stop moving as he focused on brewing tea.
Only after he slowly poured the tea into the teacup, picked it up, and took a sip did he say:
"I?"
"Do you think I hurt your Empress Dowager of Dacheng and took this little one away?"
Gu Jingchun: "Isn't that right?"
"Didn't you do the same thing before?"
"Do you really think I'll give in just because you're doing this?"
Mo Junxing chuckled softly.
“If it were me, I would have countless ways to bring your precious son out, why bother hurting the Empress Dowager again.”
This foolish act not only alerted the enemy but also brought him countless troubles.
As he spoke, he turned to look at Gu Jingchun, the icy look in his eyes reflecting Gu Jingchun's figure.
"Gu Jingchun, I'm crazy, not stupid. Why would I do something that's clearly not beneficial to me?"
Gu Jingchun raised an eyebrow and calmed down instantly.
"You mean to say that Seele wasn't brought up by you?"
Mo Junxing raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on his lips, and made a gesture indicating that he had answered correctly.
"You got it right!"
"Not only did I not kidnap him, but I also rescued him."
"Therefore, I am his savior."
This surprised Gu Jingchun.
She looked at Mo Junxing, completely puzzled.
Mo Junxing pointed to the seat opposite him.
"Would you like to try some of our finest berry tea?"
"Slightly bitter at first taste, but sweet after swallowing."
Gu Jingchun slowly walked over and sat down opposite him.
Mo Junxing immediately poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of her.
"Want to try some?"
Gu Jingchun picked up the glass and took a sip.
It was indeed slightly bitter at first, but as she swallowed it, a faint sweetness actually lingered in her throat.
This surprised Gu Jingchun slightly, and he subconsciously relaxed his brows.
Mo Junxing also noticed Gu Jingchun's change. He gripped the teapot tightly and immediately poured her another cup after she put down her teacup.
"I still prefer working with you."
"You were much more obedient back then than you are now."
Gu Jingchun had no time for reminiscing and immediately asked, "What did you mean by what you just said?"
"Who wants to take Seele away?"
"And how did you manage to save him?"
Mo Junxing smiled, but did not answer her question: "You look a little different now than before."
Gu Jingchun frowned, and after confirming that Mo Junxing did not intend to have a proper talk, she stood up.
"Your Majesty, thank you for your help to my son today. A drop of kindness deserves a spring of gratitude. I, Jingchun, have no way to repay you but will certainly send you ten thousand taels of gold as thanks."
Mo Junxing chuckled softly.
"Ten thousand taels of gold?"
"Miss Gu, you are certainly generous, but do you think I am short of money right now?"
Gu Jingchun frowned.
She knew that Mo Junxing would not release them easily.
"What does the monarch want?"
Mo Junxing also stood up and slowly walked to Gu Jingchun, gradually closing the distance between them.
"Don't you know what I want?"
Gu Jingchun's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this, and he took several steps back, but Mo Junxing continued to press forward.
Seeing that there was no way to retreat, Gu Jingchun had no choice but to speak.
"Your Majesty, I urge you to have some self-respect!"
"Oh!"
Mo Junxing sneered, stepped forward, and grabbed Gu Jingchun by the neck.
"Self-respect?"
"Tell me then, how can I possibly maintain my dignity?"
"Gu Jingchun, don't forget, you are still the Empress of my Great Qi, and my betrothed wife."
Gu Jingchun struggled to speak.
"You and I...we are not married, so I have...no...relationship with you."
“You saved Seele… I am so grateful to you… If you… want anything, I will do everything I can to repay you.”
"I'm the only one who can't do it."
Gu Jingchun spoke with difficulty, which enraged Mo Junxing.
His lips were tightly pressed together, his eyes seemed to be covered with ice, and he exuded a chilling aura.
"Luo Yun Chu!"
Mo Junxing called out Gu Jingchun's old name.
"Don't keep challenging my bottom line."
Do you think I wouldn't dare kill you?
"If you anger me again, I will kill you first, then your son, and finally that pretty boy emperor you've set your sights on."
"If you don't believe me, you're welcome to try."
Gu Jingchun's breathing became increasingly difficult, and he nodded with difficulty.
Seeing Gu Jingchun's face growing redder and redder, Mo Junxing finally released his grip on her neck.
Gu Jingchun was finally able to breathe deeply. She watched as Mo Junxing took several steps back before she spoke.
"Mo Junxing, what exactly do you want?"
