Chapter Ninety-One: The Fish Has Taken the Bait

Shen Hechuan also stood at the entrance of this tunnel.

The mechanism opened, and he fell to the ground. Feeling the soft cushion beneath him, Shen Hechuan, despite his anger, slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

He stood up and walked forward through the tunnel. He didn't know how long he walked before he stopped in front of a dead end.

Seeing this, Tianji quickly told Shen Hechuan to step back, while he himself tried to open the exit.

However, the exit was blocked by huge rocks and could not be opened no matter what.

Finally, Shen Hechuan lost his patience and took out a firecracker from his pocket and handed it to Tianji.

"this……"

Thinking of the power of the firecracker, Tianji dared not make a move.

Shen Hechuan said, "Don't worry, it's not that powerful."

Upon hearing this, Tianji placed the firecracker in the crack.

Nevertheless, he made Shen Hechuan take a few steps back before lighting it.

With a soft bang, the exit was blown open.

When Shen Hechuan emerged from the tunnel, he saw a messy woodshed.

He removed the pile of straw, looked around, and then opened the door to the woodshed.

The first thing you see is a small courtyard.

The yard was clean and tidy, with everything in perfect order.

Unfortunately, the courtyard was quiet, so the person must have already left.

Shen Hechuan led Tianji outside.

After quickly looking around, he hurried into the room.

There was indeed no one in the room.

Shen Hechuan walked around the room and saw the bandages scattered around the bed, still stained with blood.

His gaze paused.

There are people injured?

That means people can't go very far.

Upon realizing this, Shen Hechuan immediately made further arrangements, instructing Tianji to strengthen its defenses.

Moreover, thinking of Luo Ziqian's abilities, Shen Hechuan couldn't help but chuckle.

"I remember, have Li Ping guard the city gate."

"Li Ping?"

Mysteries of Heaven.

He was the least noticeable one among Shen Hechuan's men.

Not only was he plain-looking, but his martial arts skills were also mediocre. Some people even questioned why he was in Shen Hechuan's team.

What they didn't know was that Li Ping possessed an incredibly powerful skill: the art of disguise.

His disguise skills were superb and unparalleled.

If Shen Hechuan hadn't saved Li Ping years ago, he would never have been willing to be subordinate to someone else.

Luo Ziqian had once witnessed this skill of his by chance, and had long coveted it. He kept pestering Li Ping, wanting to learn it.

Li Ping, being mild-mannered, couldn't resist Luo Ziqian's persistence, so he taught him only the basics.

And it was this little bit of knowledge that allowed Luo Ziqian to thrive.

If he wants to take Gu Jingchun and the others out of the city now, the best way is to disguise himself.

But if Li Ping is guarding the city gate, they won't escape his eyes even if they disguise themselves as beggars.

At this point, Shen Hechuan only needed to wait for the person to be brought back.

Moreover, even if Luo Ziqian and his group manage to escape this time, they will surely find other ways to leave the city.

At this point, he only needs to wait and observe the movements of all parties to figure out their exact location.

Therefore, after Shen Hechuan came out of that small courtyard, he sat quietly on the city tower.

He looked at the bustling crowd below the city gate, his interest growing more and more evident.

It's been a long time since I've had this feeling of waiting for something to happen.

This feeling is really, really good, really wonderful.

He was now really looking forward to seeing Gu Jingchun's expression again.

Meanwhile, Luo Ziqian, Gu Jingchun, and the others had disguised themselves as beggars and blended into the crowd.

Their clothes were tattered, their backs were hunched, and even their fingernails were covered in black dirt.

Even so, Gu Jingchun was still somewhat uneasy.

Are you sure this will really work?

Upon hearing this, Luo Ziqian lifted his messy hair, revealing a dirty face.

"Can you still recognize me now?"

Gu Jingchun carefully examined Luo Ziqian and slowly shook his head.

"If you can't recognize me, how could the guards of the city possibly recognize me?"

"Don't worry, there won't be any problems."

As Luo Ziqian spoke, he let down his hair, turned around, moved the hand holding the wooden stick forward a little, and looked up at the front.

But just that one glance sent chills down his spine and made his heart skip a beat.

Without a second thought, he immediately turned around, grabbed Gu Jingchun, and started walking back.

Gu Jingchun was confused, but he still pulled Gu Jinxi along.

Xiaoman and Lanxin naturally followed quickly.

However, the sight of them walking back together still attracted the attention of the soldiers guarding the city.

"Hey, what are you guys doing!"

"stop!"

The soldier shouted sharply.

Gu Jingchun paused, but Luo Ziqian held her tightly and whispered, "Don't turn around, hurry up and go."

Seeing this, Gu Jingchun realized the seriousness of the matter and quickened his pace.

When the soldiers guarding the city noticed that they were walking hurriedly and did not stop, they had no choice but to chase after them.

They were about to be caught.

At the crucial moment, Xiaoman suddenly whistled.

The sound wasn't loud, but it was short and urgent enough for everyone around to hear.

Almost simultaneously, a large number of people suddenly surged out from their side, completely separating Gu Jingchun and his group from the soldier.

Luo Ziqian breathed a sigh of relief once they reached a safe place.
