Chapter Ninety-Six: Falling Off the Carriage

"Otherwise, I'll kill him right now."

Princess Rongyang continued.

Gu Jingchun then explained:

“Your Highness, Luo Ziqian is the one who drives the carriage. He has been taken hostage by you. If you want to stop the carriage, you will need someone to drive it.”

I only wanted to go there to follow your orders.

Princess Rongyang was immediately annoyed upon hearing this.

"Don't move."

She called out again.

He then gave instructions to Luo Ziqian.

"Stop the carriage."

Upon hearing this, Luo Ziqian carefully touched the reins and slowly slowed the carriage down.

However, his movements were limited, and he could only slow down the carriage, not stop it completely.

Upon seeing this, Princess Rongyang raised her voice.

"Don't try any tricks on me."

Seeing this, Gu Jingchun couldn't help but speak up:

"Your Highness, he is completely unable to move. It's already quite good that the carriage has slowed down."

If you want the carriage to come to a complete stop, you'll need to be gentle and give it some room to move.

Upon hearing this, Princess Rongyang glared at Gu Jingchun, her eyes filled with vigilance.

"Shut up!"

Although she said this, she still subconsciously looked at Luo Ziqian's neck.

At that very moment, Gu Jingchun stepped forward and grabbed Princess Rongyang's hand.

At that moment, Luo Ziqian knocked the hairpin out of Princess Rongyang's hand.

In an instant, the golden hairpin fell to the ground.

Seeing that she had no weapons, Princess Rongyang disregarded everything and immediately tried to take Gu Jingchun hostage.

Gu Jingchun quickly dodged.

Princess Rongyang missed her target, lost her balance, and fell backward.

She was standing outside the carriage and was about to fall off. Seeing this, Gu Jingchun didn't care about anything else and immediately stepped forward to pull her back.

But she suddenly turned around, smiled slightly, and then pulled Gu Jingchun along, and with a forceful pull, the two of them fell off the carriage.

"Miss--"

"Mother—"

"Princess--"

"Miss Gu—"

A shout suddenly came from the carriage.

But soon, the two could no longer hear it.

The two of them fell heavily onto the grass, and then their bodies rolled down uncontrollably.

They were currently in a high position.

Below was a long hillside. After the two landed, they instinctively clung to each other for survival, rolling smoothly downhill.

Gu Jingchun felt dizzy and his body ached in waves.

It's unclear how much time passed before the two finally stopped.

Gu Jingchun lay on the ground until the spinning in front of him stopped, then slowly sat up.

She looked around and found that the area around them was relatively flat, with a path not far away and a clear stream beside the path.

Gu Jingchun breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

fine.

It's not some desolate, godforsaken place.

She stood up and gently kicked Princess Rongyang.

"Hey, get up."

But Princess Rongyang did not move, and appeared to have fainted.

Gu Jingchun continued, "Hey, stop pretending. If you don't want to be eaten by wolves later, hurry up and get going."

Upon hearing this, Princess Rongyang, who had been completely unresponsive, slowly opened her eyes.

She glanced at Gu Jingchun, looked around, and then pretended to be clueless.

Where is this?

Gu Jingchun rolled her eyes at her.

"Stop pretending, get up now."

After Gu Jingchun finished speaking, he walked towards the stream.

She had been busy all day and hadn't eaten anything until now, and was starting to feel hungry.

It will probably take Xiaoman and the others some time to find them.

She might as well get something to eat now.

Gu Jingchun had already reached the riverbank while thinking this.

Fortunately, although the stream here is not deep, there are quite a few fish.

Seeing this, Gu Jingchun picked up a tree branch from the side and examined it carefully.

Princess Rongyang then walked over as well.

Seeing Gu Jingchun's movement, she subconsciously took a step back.

At this moment, Gu Jingchun pulled out a dagger from his bosom, startling Shen Rongyang, whose face changed color. He quickly warned:

“Let me tell you, I didn’t pull you down on purpose. I was just acting out of instinct to survive. I had no other choice.”

"Besides, when you fell, I... protected you too. You can't kill me, you know. I'm a princess. If you kill me, my brother will definitely seek revenge."

Upon hearing this, Gu Jingchun glanced at Princess Rongyang indifferently, then chuckled softly.

"revenge?"

Gu Jingchun smiled and said, "Do you know that your brother is head over heels in love with me?"

As soon as Gu Jingchun finished speaking, he began to slash at the tree branch with the dagger.

Princess Rongyang breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

But then, realizing what Gu Jingchun was saying, she immediately retorted incredulously:

"You're talking nonsense!"

My elder brother is the Crown Prince, the most handsome man in the entire land. He is the Crown Prince of our Great Cheng, and the ministers universally acknowledge him as the future wise ruler.

"The chosen one of heaven, the future emperor."

"How could someone like him possibly be interested in a widow like you with a child?"

Princess Rongyang was so angry she was practically bursting with rage, unleashing a barrage of attacks without even taking a breath.

Gu Jingchun found Princess Rongyang's flustered appearance amusing, comparing her to a fighting rooster, and he felt a urge to tease her.
