Clang!
The prince passed through the door and collapsed in the courtyard in a disheveled state, splashing up a puddle of water.
The prince felt that in that instant of levitation, he had reviewed all the important events of his life...
"Your Highness?!"
The commotion summoned all the eunuchs and palace maids in the courtyard. After seeing what had happened, they hurriedly helped the prince up.
After being helped up, everyone knelt respectfully on the ground, not daring to even raise their heads.
The concubines inside the room were so frightened that they huddled together in fear.
"Do you think there's really something evil here?"
"Waaaaah, I'm so scared."
One of the more rational concubines patted the two beside her and said, "Sisters, why don't we go see the Crown Prince? Otherwise..."
Her implication was clear: otherwise, if the Crown Prince came to his senses and remembered the three of them's behavior, it would be difficult to explain.
The other two immediately understood, quickly composed themselves, flicked their sleeves, and ran into the yard in a panic.
"Your Highness, are you injured? Don't worry, the imperial physician will be here soon."
"Your Highness, please come inside and change your clothes. Be careful not to catch a cold."
"Your Highness, let me wipe your face."
The Crown Prince, having been repeatedly summoned by the three princes, felt his head spinning and immediately wanted to shout at them to get out of there.
But then a few memories of being beaten flashed through his mind, and it seemed that the thing would only attack when he asked the concubine to leave.
The prince's eyes suddenly lit up. Did that mean that as long as he didn't leave them, he wouldn't be beaten?
So the Crown Prince swallowed his reprimand and instead said to his concubines, "You all go inside and rest."
He needed to get inside quickly; he didn't want to lose face in front of the palace maids and eunuchs again.
How could Xu Jinhuan possibly do as he wished? She kicked him again with swift, clean movements, only this time in a different spot.
So, the concubines saw the prince take a step forward, and suddenly his expression changed, and he fell flat on his face right in front of everyone.
"Your Highness?"
After all this, the concubines were unsure whether they should be concerned about the Crown Prince's injuries.
The crown prince seemed used to it. He scrambled to his feet and said calmly, "It's nothing, I just slipped."
After saying that, he stopped needing anyone's help and limped into the house on his own.
From an angle where no one could see him, he finally grimaced in pain; it really hurt!
He had never suffered such pain in his entire life!
But for the sake of his pride, he could only force himself not to rub his still-sore buttocks.
Seeing the Crown Prince's foolish appearance, Xu Jinhuan sneered. If she didn't need him to restrain Lei Tingjun, she would have stabbed him directly. The effect would have been obvious, and it would have saved her time and effort.
And so, Xu Jinhuan tormented the Crown Prince for a while longer, completely confirming that the Eastern Palace was haunted, before she left the Eastern Palace with a smile and a full space.
"Let's head to the next stop!" Xu Jinhuan said, and then walked towards the Wu residence.
She was already very familiar with the location of the Wu residence, having moved there before.
Xu Jinhuan figured there wouldn't be anything good in the Wu family's storeroom right now, so he planned to finish quickly, ransack the kitchen, dump the body at the front gate, and run away.
However, after seeing someone at the Wu residence, she instantly changed her mind.
That person was none other than Consort Rou, who had previously been very affectionate with the Crown Prince.
Xu Jinhuan thought to himself, "You really know how to wander around in this heavy rain! First you go to the East Palace, then you leave the Imperial Palace. Aren't you afraid of being discovered? This emperor is such an incompetent fool!"
At this moment, Consort Rou sat respectfully to the left of Wu Daoyi.
"My lord, I have successfully intimidated the Crown Prince as you instructed. As long as the Crown Prince raises an army, you can use the banner of 'purging the court of corrupt officials' to lead your generals into the capital."
Wu Daoyi smiled and said to Consort Rou, "Good, Wenxian, you've worked hard all these years. Not only did you have to pretend to be friendly with the dog emperor, but you also had to deceive the good-for-nothing crown prince."
"Don't worry, after I ascend the throne, I will definitely help your Li family overturn the verdict and clear your father and uncles of wrongful convictions."
Roupin, or more precisely Li Wenxian, rose from her chair and knelt respectfully before Wu Daoyi.
"Thank you, Master, for remembering the injustice done to my Li family. Without you, Wenxian would still be being trampled on in a brothel. My life was saved by you, Master. I would do anything for you!"
Wu Daoyi laughed and said, "Good, good, good. It wasn't for nothing that I went to so much trouble for you. Besides Liu Rou, I also asked someone to teach you disguise techniques. Don't worry, once everything is over, you will still be Li Wenxian."
Xu Jinhuan silently sorted out the whole story. How could someone as wicked as Wu Daoyi be so kind as to save someone and help clear their name?
Xu Jinhuan had reason to suspect that Wu Daoyi had fabricated the injustice against the Li family in order to better control Li Wenxian and make him work for him.
Thinking of this, Xu Jinhuan glanced at Wu Daoyi, who was still showing off, and thought, "You old man, you have quite the ambition. You even want to be the emperor yourself."
After figuring things out, Xu Jinhuan didn't linger this time; she suddenly had an even more interesting idea for the game.
Xu Jinhuan took out the jade pendant and waist token that he had taken from the unconscious Fifth Prince during the landslide from his spatial storage, and said with a smile.
"It's a good thing I have this habit of plucking feathers from passing geese, otherwise how could they be left to fight like dogs?"
She strolled leisurely to the main gate of the Wu residence before having the system, Xiao Wang, throw the corpse out.
After the bodies were arranged, Xu Jinhuan looked at them, found two curled fingers, and stuffed the jade pendant and waist token into their hands.
