Chapter 81 It's not your place to stand up for her.

"Your Highness, Song Zhiyu has damaged the Seventh Princess's reputation. You are the Seventh Princess's aunt, so why are you always helping outsiders?" The Prince's heir avoided the main issue, drawing everyone's attention to the Seventh Princess without mentioning Shen Jinshu at all.

The eldest princess gave him a cold glance, her voice carrying an air of authority without anger. "I will stand up for what is right, not for my own family. The seventh princess has made a mistake and should be punished. It is not your place to stand up for her."

“The Seventh Princess and I grew up together and have a deep bond. I believe she is not such a malicious person. Someone must be deliberately slandering her.” The Prince’s heir was still unconvinced and even tried to throw mud at Song Zhiyu.

Song Zhiyu didn't tolerate him and unceremoniously threw the mud back at him, "Has the Prince's son learned how to change faces? Otherwise, how come you were just now standing up for Miss Shen, looking like you wanted to tear me apart, but now you've completely forgotten about her?"

Since the Prince's heir insisted on protecting Shen Jinshu and making things difficult for her, she naturally wouldn't be polite.

"Stop talking nonsense, believe me or not..."

"presumptuous!"

Before the prince's threatening words could be finished, he was met with an angry shout from the princess. Instantly, he shrank back like a quail whose neck had been grabbed.

"Even your father, the King, has to show me some respect. How dare you, a mere junior, be so disrespectful and spout such nonsense in front of me? Who gave you the audacity?"

The princess's cold yet authoritative voice struck everyone's hearts, making them realize that Song Zhiyu was no longer the same as before. With the princess protecting her, she would not tolerate being bullied by others.

The eldest princess casually pointed to a maid, "Go and bring Shen Jinshu here."

"Yes," the maid replied, bowing her head and hurrying away.

"Your Highness, this matter has nothing to do with Shu... or Miss Shen. Please don't make things difficult for her." The Prince's heir panicked. He hadn't expected the Princess to target Shen Jinshu; this was completely different from what he had envisioned.

Shen Yanxi watched the maid's departing figure, his face showing unease, and his voice becoming somewhat hurried, "Your Highness, this matter is just a misunderstanding. The young master was just joking with Song Zhiyu."

Besides, Shu'er knew nothing about this matter, so why are you angry?

He raised the corners of his eyes and frantically gave Song Zhiyu meaningful glances, signaling her to cooperate with him.

"I can't take jokes that could kill someone," Song Zhiyu said quietly from the side, treating him as if he were going crazy.

Song Zhiyu was very curious about where Shen Yanxi got the confidence to think that she would help him cover up his lie.

"Shut up!" Shen Yanxi was embarrassed by Song Zhiyu's sabotage, and his tone was slightly angry. He shouldn't have had any hope for Song Zhiyu.

"I think it's you who should shut up." The Duchess, who had been standing beside the Princess, finally couldn't help but speak up, her usually smiling face now covered with a layer of ice.

Shen Yanxi shut his mouth awkwardly, angrily turning his eyes away, just in time to see Shen Jinshu walking over in a hurry.

"Your Highness, is there something important that you summoned Jinshu here?" Shen Jinshu bowed gracefully, her face composed.

"I heard that Miss Shen was wronged by Zhiyu, and the Prince's son is eager to stand up for you. I have specially summoned you here to ask you in detail whether this is true or not?" The Princess looked at Shen Jinshu's beautiful and fair face and smiled meaningfully.

With such a beautiful face, it's no wonder she could bewitch the dissolute prince's son.

"Your Highness has misunderstood. My second sister did not bully me. The Crown Prince has always treated me like a younger sister and has taken good care of me. There must be some misunderstanding here." Shen Jinshu's expression remained unchanged, and she cleared herself of any wrongdoing in just a few words.

The prince's son stood up for her, making a scene, and everyone present was moved by his deep affection, but Shen Jinshu shut him down with a casual remark about brotherly and sisterly feelings.

The Prince's heir, however, didn't see anything wrong. His eyes were glued to Shen Jinshu, and he kept nodding.

“If there were truly a misunderstanding, the Crown Prince wouldn’t be so certain that I bullied you and harmed the Seventh Princess. Could it be that someone is twisting the truth in front of him?” Song Zhiyu spoke up at the right moment, not giving Shen Jinshu a chance to refute.

She paused slightly, noticing that the smile on Shen Jinshu's face had faded a bit, before continuing, "Besides, the young master is no longer an ignorant child; how could he not distinguish between good and bad?"

"What do you mean?" The prince's son was furious as soon as he finished speaking.

Song Zhiyu's words were clearly mocking him, which was infuriating.

"Don't you understand the literal meaning?" Song Zhiyu replied slowly and deliberately, without any fear of offending the person too much.

Now that they've already formed a grudge, even if she doesn't offend the Prince's heir, he'll still take action against her.

If that's the case, she might as well offend people completely.

Instead of cowering and making yourself sick, you might as well annoy others and feel better.

"Song Zhiyu, you're asking for death!" The Prince's heir was so angry that his chest heaved violently. For a moment, he forgot about the presence of the Princess and the others, and spoke recklessly.

Originally, out of consideration for Shu'er, he only wanted to teach Song Zhiyu a small lesson.

But now, he has changed his mind, and a wicked idea has arisen in his mind.

The princess's cold gaze swept directly at the prince's heir, her face already showing displeasure. "Mingxuan, if you want to stay here any longer, you'd better control your temper."

Shen Jinshu knew things were going badly, fearing that the Prince's son would ruin her plans, so she could only gently comfort him.

"Your Highness, Her Highness is angry right now. Please don't upset her any further. If you are implicated because of me, Jinshu will not feel good either."

The prince's son also calmed down and couldn't bear to put Shen Jinshu in a difficult position.

He hasn't taught Song Zhiyu a lesson yet, and he hasn't gotten rid of this trouble for Shu'er, so he can't leave.

After thinking it through, the prince's son kept a straight face, snorted irritably, and then said nothing more.

Song Zhiyu looked up at the two of them, somewhat surprised. Shen Jinshu's dog training skills were truly impressive.

But the prince's son didn't say anything more, and she was able to have some peace and quiet.

"Miss Shen, you have quite the tricks up your sleeve, making my foolish nephews and nieces so easily manipulated that they're willing to stand up for you. But I'm not so easily fooled." The Princess had seen countless people, so how could she not see through Shen Jinshu's true colors?

Shen Jinshu is quite shrewd and has good methods, but he is still a bit naive.

"This humble woman does not understand Your Highness's meaning." Shen Jinshu smiled, her expression unchanged, seemingly genuinely unaware of the Princess's implied meaning.

"Whether you truly understand or not, that's all I have to say. You'd better take care of yourself."

After leaving those words, the princess smiled, walked up to Song Zhiyu, gave her a few more instructions, and then left.

Shen Jinshu lowered her eyelids, concealing the ruthlessness in her eyes, and kept the humiliation of today in her heart.
