Chapter 356 Fainted in Prison

Sheng Mingyu just gave her a light kiss and left.

Her eyes were wet like a frightened deer, which made Sheng Mingyu's heart move. He forced himself not to get close to her again.

He closed his eyes tightly and calmed himself down.

"Yun Ni, you go out first. I can eat by myself. I will take you out for a walk in the evening."

Gu Yunni obeyed and ran away in a hurry with a red face.

After she left, Sheng Mingyu called for a bucket of cold water and finally calmed down.

"Mo Qing, follow my previous instructions and continue investigating. As long as no substantial evidence is found, there's no need to release the person."

Sheng Mingyu's tone was cold, and he was no longer in the same state as before.

He had just finished his meal when an accident happened.

Mo Qing rushed in.

"Oh no, Your Highness. The man you arrested suddenly vomited blood and fell into a coma in prison. The doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong. Please go and take a look yourself."

He looked anxious. This was the person that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince had taken great pains to find. If anything happened in his hands, he would be punished.

"Unconscious?"

Sheng Mingyu frowned, not as panicked as imagined.

"Did he see anyone before he vomited blood?"

"Reporting to His Royal Highness, no, you said that outsiders were not allowed to go there, so no one has seen it."

Sheng Mingyu frowned, "Does anyone want to visit?"

"No, even after those bosses were arrested, some people went looking for him. He was like he had no family. No one was worried about him at all. His subordinates waited for a long time, but nothing happened."

Sheng Mingyu asked questions one by one, and Mo Qing answered them one by one.

Everything was within Sheng Mingyu's expectations, and there was no gain.

The atmosphere became quiet, and as time passed, cold sweat broke out on Mo Qing's forehead.

The pressure from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was too strong and he couldn't stand it.

"Did you eat anything before you fell into a coma? Who delivered the food?" Sheng Mingyu said in a steady voice.

As long as a person is in a coma, there must be a reason and clues. The only possibility is that I haven't found it.

Mo Qing thought for a long time before speaking.

"As for what to eat... it's the same as the prisoners in prison, a bowl of porridge, a steamed bun, and a bowl of vegetables. But when I went there, I heard the jailer say that he wanted to eat meat, but the jailer didn't give him any."

Sheng Mingyu looked up at Mo Qing with an unfathomable look in his eyes.

"That's probably where the problem lies. Go ask the jailer, what would his reaction be if he wasn't given meat?"

After hearing Sheng Mingyu's instructions, Mo Qing hurried out again.

Not long after, a jailer came over, and Gu Yunni and the national teacher followed behind, looking worried.

"I heard something happened in the prison. What happened? Didn't they say that no one can enter the county jail?"

"Yes! We finally caught the man, what should we do if something happens to him? I can't explain to His Majesty!"

The two of them have their own ideas, but they are all for Sheng Mingyu's good.

The news that they had captured the person had already spread, and they would be leaving Jiangnan soon. If they didn't bring the person back, they would be finished.

"Don't panic, we're investigating. He's just vomiting blood, he's not dead yet. There must be a way to solve it."

Looking at Gu Yunni, Sheng Mingyu spoke in a gentle tone, trying his best to comfort her.

Even if something really happened, he would not let Gu Yunni take the responsibility.

"But..." Gu Yunni frowned, hesitating to speak.

She didn't want to pour cold water on Sheng Mingyu, but she was worried.

"That's what we said, but we're really worried without seeing him in person. Why don't we go check it out first? We can't just leave him alone in the cell."

The Imperial Master sighed, "Right! Why don't we go over and take a look? Although I haven't thought about caring about him, he still has a secret."

Gu Yunni nodded quickly. She wanted to ask where the man had learned the mysterious arts and what other skills he had.

"Okay!" Sheng Mingyu pondered for a while and nodded in agreement.

"Then let's go and take a look. I haven't seen anyone yet, and I'm worried. I don't know what tricks he has played."

Sheng Mingyu walked in front, followed by the National Master and Gu Yunni, and the group walked into the prison in a mighty manner.

The prisoners around were trembling and hiding in the innermost part of the room without moving.

They heard that something happened in prison, and I guess these adults will be angry again.

"Your Highness, it's right here. I thought it would be more convenient to remind him, so I arranged for him to be placed closest to the interrogation area. I didn't expect..."

Mo Qing led the way in front, looking remorseful.

The master handed the task over to him, but he failed to do it well.

"Don't blame yourself. Go in and take a look first. He's very cunning. It doesn't necessarily mean he's really in trouble."

Sheng Mingyu still refuses to believe it.

He was fine in the morning, why did he faint in the evening?

When a few people went in, they saw the man lying on the straw, his face pale and bloodless, like a glass doll that would shatter at the slightest touch.

There was also a bowl of porridge and a steamed bun next to it, all thrown to the ground, but their weight had not decreased at all.

"Didn't eat? That means his fainting had nothing to do with food. So what exactly is the problem?"

Sheng Mingyu frowned, and Gu Yunni watched worriedly from the side, with a look of disapproval on her face.

"He might have drunk that porridge, but he drank so little that it's hard to tell. How can you be sure it has nothing to do with the porridge?"

Sheng Mingyu felt a little guilty. This man left too much porridge, and he really thought he didn't drink it.

Now that Gu Yunni mentioned it, it made sense.

He went forward to feel the pulse, turned the man left and right, but couldn't figure out what was wrong, and looked worried.

Just when things were at a stalemate and there was no progress, Sheng Mingyu noticed that the man's fingers moved slightly.

He raised his eyebrows and sent his men away.

"Mo Qing, take these people out of the cell first. Yun Ni, you and the Imperial Preceptor will stay here with me."

"Okay." The two agreed, puzzled.

After the cell quieted down, Sheng Mingyu asked.

"You went to so much trouble to find me, Prince. You certainly didn't want to see us investigate the case cluelessly, did you? If you have something to say, just say it. Don't try to be rude, or don't blame me for being rude."

As soon as Sheng Mingyu spoke, Gu Yunni and the Imperial Master looked at the man on the ground in surprise.

It never occurred to them that this man was faking illness.

"Your Highness is indeed clever. I thought it would take you a long time to find out, but you found out in such a short time. The people under your command are truly worlds apart from you."

The man's voice was evil. He got up from the ground and leaned against the wall. His chest heaved violently. His lips regained some color, but his face was still pale.

"What's going on? Stop flattering me. This prince won't listen to it."

Sheng Mingyu's tone was irritable.

As soon as he saw the man, he thought of that incident.

Although there is no evidence yet, he always feels that it is almost certain.

"I have something to discuss with you. Is it convenient for you? What I'm going to say will definitely be of benefit to you."

A man gets straight to the point and doesn't waste time.
