Chapter 234 What a strong wind
Yan Qingqiu was still sitting in the house eating happily, thinking that he would ask An Yan to buy some back next time, as the taste was really good. At the same time, he was thinking that it was not enough, so he planned to talk to Hua Ye and have a good talk with them. He said that older people were not suitable to eat too much cake, so he should do it for them.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching.
Yan Qingqiu looked up at the door. It was Li Rongsen who came over. He said, "You came early today."
"Where is An Yan?" Li Rongsen sat down at the table.
Yan Qingqiu picked out the smallest piece of cake and placed it in front of Li Rongsen, saying, "This is for you. An Yan bought it for you."
"Did she just drop off her things and leave?"
"I walked in front of you." Yan Qingqiu said nonchalantly.
Li Rongsen frowned and asked again, "It's almost time for dinner."
"She hasn't eaten dinner at home these past two days, and I don't know what she's been busy with. When she comes back, she's often covered in mud, as if she's been working in the fields." Yan Qingqiu told him everything he was thinking.
Li Rongsen frowned even tighter and said, "Why don't you ask her what she's busy with?"
"Did you ask?" Yan Qingqiu asked him back.
Li Rongsen was speechless after hearing his question, and couldn't even find an excuse to explain his negligence in the past few days.
Yan Qingqiu said: "She will come back to sleep anyway, you don't have to worry."
"Then I'll go first." Li Rongsen said as he stood up.
"Where are you going? Eat first and then go out." Yan Qingqiu felt that he was a little strange.
"No more eating." Li Rongsen said as he left the yard. When he met Hua Ye outside, he quickly said, "Wait a moment, boy."
Li Rongsen was puzzled and asked, "What's wrong? Is there something you want to tell me?"
"My apprentice asked me to give you two bottles of medicine. He said they are for your grandfather's leg treatment." Hua Ye said as he handed the two bottles of medicine to Li Rongsen and said, "Keep them safe. Don't lose them."
Li Rongsen nodded and walked out of the yard to get the car. He thought to himself that An Yan would be so busy that she didn't even have time to send him two bottles of medicine, and she didn't go to Wancaotang for several days.
Nissen said her office was gathering dust.
He thought about it and decided to go to Bai Shichen's house. He thought that maybe he was there, but he couldn't think of a reason, so he simply went back to find Yan Qingqiu and asked him, "How is your injury now? Can you go out for a walk?"
"Okay, it's okay. What do you mean?"
"I'm taking you out for a nice dinner, do you want to go?"
"Go, anyone who doesn't go is a fool." Yan Qingqiu was very happy and quickly followed Li Rongsen out.
He didn't know that Li Rongsen was taking him to Bai Shichen's house for a big dinner.
Bai Shichen was taking care of Wen Jiaer's residence, while An Yan was doing carpentry work on the side. She made wooden tables and chairs according to Wen Jiaer's design drawings.
"An Yan, you are amazing. You can even do carpentry. What can't you do?" Bai Shichen exclaimed in admiration as he saw a table almost completed.
"It's not that difficult. The design drawings Wen Jiaer gave me are very detailed." An Yan answered casually, but she actually didn't need to look at the drawings at all to make exactly the same one.
During that lifetime, she lived in that peach forest until her death, and everything there was was clearly visible to her.
"This guy is really interesting. Even the location of the trees he plants needs to be very precise, as if he is deliberately arranging them." Bai Shichen chuckled. He was planting a tree at the moment. After seeing that he had finished the last one, he stood up and said, "I should go cook."
"I'll do it."
The person who said this was Wen Jiaer. He had come in from outside with a lot of things in his hands. He said, "I've bought some things and am going to put them in the house to decorate. I'll go cook first." After saying that, he put the things down and left.
An Yan stopped what she was doing and washed her hands.
I heard Bai Shichen say, "He can't cook, so I quickly went to stop him, otherwise you won't have a good meal." After that, he left.
An Yan mentioned the things Wen Jiaer bought and walked into the house. He bought some decorative items, including teapots, teacups, vases, and dishes. They were all familiar old things.
It's amazing that we can still find these things. Although there are slight differences, they are almost the same.
Among them was a white bottle. An Yan took it out and placed it on the table. She then went out and broke off an unopened peach branch and put it into the bottle. She often did this in her previous life. It was the only bright spot in her life. However, now was not the season for peach trees to bloom.
"The crape myrtles are in full bloom right now," Wen Jiaer said as he walked in. He removed the peach branch from the vase and placed the crape myrtle in his hand. He added, "This pink color is quite similar to peach blossoms."
"I didn't expect you to like antique things so much." An Yan said as she walked towards the window.
"I often dream of this, as if it were my home." Wen Jiaer said with a smile, coughing again.
An Yan said to him, "Your illness needs to be treated."
"You seem to really hope that I can cure your illness." Wen Jiaer asked her.
"This is my occupational disease." An Yan answered evasively.
"Thank you so much for coming to help me during this period and making a lot of furniture for me. These are jobs that men should do, but you, a little woman, have done them all. I don't know how to thank you. Look at this, do you like it?" Wen Jiaer said as he handed her a jewelry box.
An Yan didn't take it and said, "That's nothing. You are a friend of Li Rongsen and Bai Shichen, so you are also my friend. You don't have to be polite to me."
"I haven't seen Rong Sen for a long time recently. I wonder what he is busy with."
"He must be busy with work." An Yan answered him.
Wen Jiaer handed her the box again and opened it for her, saying, "It's just a hairpin, not worth much. I've seen you pulling out your hair while doing things these days, so it should be useful to you."
"Thank you very much. I won't accept the items. You can keep them."
"Why, you don't like it?" Wen Jiaer was a little surprised, and explained to her, "I don't have any other meaning, I just think you can use it."
"I have this." An Yan took out an ordinary black hairpin and put it on her hair, saying, "Thank you for your kindness. This will do for me."
This was the first time Wen Jiaer had given someone something, and for a moment he felt it was difficult to end the situation. Moreover, he really wanted to thank her, so he couldn't help but feel obsessed. He said, "In that case, I shouldn't have accepted this thing from you. I'll return this throat medicine to you."
An Yan frowned, staring at the blue bottle he handed over with a worried look on her face. This was something she had carefully prepared for him, and it could temporarily alleviate his condition. She couldn't take it back after giving it away with great difficulty. She could only take his hairpin and said, "Alright, this makes us even."
"Then I'll take it back too." Wen Jiaer put the medicine back into his pocket with satisfaction.
"Twice a day, how do you feel after taking it?"
"I feel much better now. I cough less frequently and my throat isn't as dry and sore anymore."
"Eat on time." An Yan nodded.
Suddenly, there was a "bang" sound.
An Yan and Wen Jiaer looked towards the door and found Li Rongsen and Yan Qingqiu standing there.
Li Rongsen had lost control of the door and pushed it. He had thought he hadn't used much force, but the door fell to the ground without even being pushed. But it was Yan Qingqiu who said, "The wind was so strong, it blew open the door, what a fragile door."
"Where does the wind come from?" Wen Jiaer was puzzled. He found that the branches and leaves outside the window were motionless.
Yan Qingqiu cleared his throat. Of course he wanted to help his own people. He added, "It's like a gust of wind, it's gone just as fast as it came."
