Chapter 389 Don’t Look
"For Yan Qingqiu." An Yan used this as an excuse.
Li Rongsen was still a little confused.
An Yan walked up to Li Rongsen and said to him, "He brought you here, and you're also his good friend. If he knew you died because of this, he would definitely not forgive me. I can't let him worry."
"That sounds reasonable." Li Rongsen nodded slightly.
"You don't have to be polite. Just remember this favor to Yan Qingqiu." An Yan picked some small flowers under the big tree, walked into the house with lowered eyes, and put the small flowers into the empty bottle on the table. She saw the old woman writing at the table, and she was writing very seriously.
Anyan asked her, "Grandma, what are you writing?"
"Write a love letter." said the old woman, without putting down her pen.
"Grandma, it turns out you have a lover." An Yan laughed. This was the first time she heard of it.
"I came here just to find him. I care about him all my life and write him a love letter every month. We will definitely meet again." The old woman said very seriously.
An Yan was a little touched. She said, "Grandma, when the dry well has running water, you can meet him."
"I hope so. It's a hope," the old woman said, and then sighed, "It's a pity. I'm old."
Li Rongsen, who was sitting at the door, turned to look at An Yan in the house. She was smiling at the old woman, picked up a small flower on the table, pinned it in the old woman's hair, and said, "Grandma is very beautiful."
"Even when I was young, I might not be as pretty as you."
"Beauty cannot be compared. You have to look carefully. I think grandma is the prettiest." An Yan did not lie.
Li Rongsen turned around. He was no longer looking at An Yan, but was thinking of Yan Qingqiu, worried that he would be worried about him.
And listen to Anyan say again: "Grandma, I thought of a good idea today, let's try it and see if it works."
"What do you want?" The old woman looked up at her.
An Yan picked up the bottle containing the Youyue grass water and walked back to the yard, pouring all the water into the soil.
The old woman came out to see what was happening. She said, "Oh, it's all wasted now. You spilled it all."
"Don't worry, we'll know tonight if it works." An Yan signaled the old woman not to worry and asked, "Grandma, do you want some vegetable pancakes?"
"How come you know everything?" the old woman laughed.
An Yan smiled lightly but said nothing. She was afraid that Li Rongsen would not be able to get used to the dried sweet potatoes and steamed buns, so she naturally had to try something different to make him something edible. Besides, it was the middle of the day, and he had to eat a full meal.
Li Rongsen just sat in the chair thinking and watching An Yan busying around.
After a while, An Yan came out with a plate. She first handed two cakes to the old woman, and then handed the other two to Li Rongsen, saying, "Here, these two are for you."
"Thank you." Li Rongsen took it. Maybe because he was hungry, he felt that these two very simple vegetable pancakes were particularly delicious.
An Yan also picked up one and started eating it. She took small bites and suddenly narrowed her eyes. She quickly exhaled and turned to Li Rongsen and said, "Be careful when eating it. Don't burn your mouth. It's a little hot."
Li Rongsen nodded. He took a small bite and was greeted by a fragrant aroma. He thought it tasted particularly good and said, "It's delicious."
"Eat more." An Yan tore off the uneaten half of the pancake in her hand and put it into his bowl, saying, "Replenish your energy so you won't feel too bad at night."
"It seems that Yan Qingqiu has a good reason to like you." Li Rongsen didn't know why he said this, but he just wanted to mention the three words Yan Qingqiu.
An Yan said: "If he finds out you're missing, he'll definitely be worried, so you have to go back quickly."
"He's here to see you." Li Rongsen said.
"I have to finish my work." An Yan replied.
"Yan Qingqiu didn't explain to me why you had to come here. Can you tell me?"
"Because I promised to come here and serve as a servant for a hundred days."
"But Yan Qingqiu said you are the mayor of West City."
"It doesn't have any impact." An Yan whispered.
"I'm afraid my grandfather can't wait for a hundred days." Li Rongsen mentioned this matter. He came here because of this, so he had to remind him.
An Yan looked at him and said, "I understand."
After hearing her answer, Li Rongsen didn't say anything. After eating, he went back to the room and lay down to sleep for a while. When he woke up again, it was already night.
The bright white moon is already hanging in the sky.
An Yan and the old woman were both in the yard, staring at the soil where the Youyue grass was planted.
When the moon shone on the soil, the Youyue grass sprouted and bloomed at a speed visible to the naked eye. Today, there were no longer just one plant, but more than ten, which made An Yan very pleased.
The old woman was also very happy. She counted the plants one by one and said, "That's great! Today we have sixteen. If we keep going like this, we'll be done in a few days."
"If we sow more tomorrow, there might be more than a hundred plants overnight." An Yan said as she turned around and bumped into Li Rongsen who was standing behind her without any preparation.
He was weak and was about to fall, so An Yan had to support him. However, after Li Rongsen turned around, he could not control the weight of his body and fell on An Yan, pinning her to the ground.
An Yan's back was lying on the ground, and Li Rongsen's upper body was pressing on her.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Li Rongsen struggled to get up but found himself unable to do anything. He could only stare at An Yan with embarrassment on his face, and tried his best to get up.
He was very close to An Yan, and he thought of Yan Qingqiu from time to time, feeling deeply sorry for him.
"Can't you just lie down?" An Yan said as she pushed Li Rongsen up.
The old woman also came over. She pulled Li Rongsen up with one hand, and then threw him directly onto the couch with another force.
With a "bang", Li Rongsen felt great pain in his body, but he forced himself not to cry out, just frowned.
An Yan had already stood up. She walked over to look at Li Rongsen and said to the old woman, "Grandma, he can't stand it."
"He won't die." The old woman disagreed, then took a wooden plate and went outside to pick the Youyue grass. Then she came back in, closed the door, and said, "You have to protect him later. The foul air outside is most suitable for people with weak bodies."
"I understand. You just need to suppress them." An Yan said, and took out two dried sweet potatoes and gave them to Li Rongsen, saying, "Come, eat something to replenish your energy."
"Is it okay if I don't eat it?" Li Rongsen had no fondness for things like dried sweet potatoes.
An Yan didn't force it. She put it back and said to him, "Don't move for a while. Just close your eyes and don't look at anything. Understand?"
"What are you dealing with?" Li Rongsen asked. He wanted to help.
"This is customary, don't look." An Yan repeatedly warned him, but she was still worried about him, so she found a piece of cloth to cover his eyes.
Li Rongsen frowned. He felt that the smell of the cloth was too bad, as if it had been washed in a toilet. He took it off with his hands and said, "I won't open my eyes."
"Then you have to keep your word." An Yan reminded him.
"I understand." Li Rongsen agreed silently.
Suddenly, the sound of weeping and wailing began outside, which was creepy and sent chills down one's spine.
Li Rongsen asked, "Who is here?"
"There's no one here, just ignore him." An Yan grabbed Li Rongsen's wrist with her left hand, and kept her other hand ready to block the foul air at any time.
