Chapter 61: At First Sight

Chapter 61: At First Sight

An Cheng's illness was cured, but because he had overworked before, he still needed systematic conditioning of his body. Moreover, An Yan found out that he was secretly working behind her back, which was not acceptable.

But An Cheng refused to listen to her and said, "Yan Yan, I can't stay here. It's too boring. If I go out and do something, there will be people I can talk to. Just let me go out and do something. I will take good care of myself, don't worry."

"Dad, you really can't do this. I don't agree. We are not short of money now. You can just enjoy yourself. Why do you have to work?"

"It's mainly because I'm bored and it feels so uninteresting." An Cheng sighed.

An Yichen, who was standing nearby, heard this and said, "Shouldn't we find a companion for Dad?"

"What nonsense are you talking about? Shut up." An Cheng sneered at him in feigned anger, and then began to persuade An Yan earnestly, saying, "Yan Yan, Dad's illness has been cured. I just want to go out and do something relaxing. I won't do those heavy work anymore."

An Yan thought about it carefully and said, "Dad, I'll take you to see someone later. He's also worried about having no one to talk to, and there's something he can do there."

"Who is it and where are you going?" An Cheng immediately became interested.

An Yichen said, "I won't go. I have an appointment with my classmates to go to the library later."

"You go and do your own thing, I'll just go with Dad." An Yan said to him.

An Yichen nodded, then took his things and left.

An Yan took some food from the refrigerator, sorted it out, and then said to An Cheng, "Dad, let's go. Let's go."

An Cheng nodded, and she gestured for An Yan to go first, and he closed the door behind her.

An Yan saw a letter in the mailbox downstairs. She took it out and saw that it was a check for 50 million yuan sent by Li Xuan. She thought that he was quite capable as he had earned 50 million yuan so quickly. She put it in her bag.

An Cheng came down and said, "I haven't seen Li Xuan come over recently. He's very busy."

"He's busy working to pay back the debt, so of course he doesn't have time to come." An Yan answered casually while going out to get a taxi.

The two of them arrived at Hua Ye's yard. He was sorting herbs. When he saw An Yan coming, he stood up and asked her, "Who is this?"

"This is my dad. He couldn't stay at home, so he wanted to find a companion." An Yan said to him with a smile, and then gave An Cheng a brief introduction, "This is my master, who taught me medicine."

"Oh, I really want to thank you for teaching our Yanyan such a good skill." An Cheng immediately stepped forward and shook hands with him enthusiastically.

Hua Ye also looked at him and nodded repeatedly, and asked him: "What are your hobbies? Do you know how to play chess?"

"I can play all kinds of chess, but I'm not very good at it." An Cheng said with a smile. He just loves playing chess, and he learned it all by himself.

"Okay, let's play a game." Hua Ye said as he set out the chessboard in the yard, saying, "I haven't played chess with anyone in years. I've been wondering if I'll have the chance again, and now here I am."

An Yan poured tea for them and peeled fruit, and was very happy to see the two of them.

It was obvious that Hua Ye's chess skills were no match for An Cheng's, so he insisted on holding him back and said, "Stay for dinner. I have plenty of food here. After we finish eating, we can continue playing."

An Cheng was also very happy, and even said to An Yan: "Yan Yan, I want to stay here with Hua Ye for two days. It's troublesome to walk back and forth. You should go back first today."

An Yan didn't expect that they would hit it off right away. Thinking that her father would be safe here, she didn't force him to go back. She said, "Okay, I'll go first. I'll go home and cook."

"Yanyan, you can go to Madam Li's house for dinner. I promised her that day that you would go there for dinner often. She treats you like her daughter." An Cheng said to her with a smile.

An Yan didn't say anything and left. She had a place to eat tonight, and she was going to attend the banquet hosted by the old man in the wheelchair.

The banquet at Li Rongsen's side had already begun. Old Master Li sat in the main seat and told the waiter to serve the cold dishes first.

Wang Lina sat with Li Rongsen and praised Old Man Li: "Grandpa, you look really good."

"With less trouble, I will be in a good mood. I am already half buried in the grave. I just hope that people will turn a blind eye and live the rest of my life comfortably. I don't want to be competitive anymore." Grandpa Li seemed to have something else to say.

Madam Li said, "Dad, Rong Sen is in charge now, you can enjoy a peaceful life."

"I'm afraid there won't be much peace and quiet to enjoy. There aren't enough gossips in the newspaper today. Li Rongsen alone took up half of the newspaper. One moment he's saying he has a mistress, the next he's saying he's getting married, and the next he's saying he's selling his property privately."

"That's all nonsense." Mrs. Li explained quickly, and then gave Li Rongsen a look, indicating that he should admit his mistake quickly.

But Li Rongsen didn't respond.

"Rongsen, I heard recently that you joined the Renyi Association and became the head of the association." Grandpa Li asked him.

"Yes." Li Rongsen agreed.

"You are still young, so you should be more careful and don't let others take advantage of you."

"I know, I'll pay attention."

"Don't rush to gain advantage. Patience is necessary." Master Li seemed to be giving him advice, and then said, "When are you and Lina going to get married?"

"I don't want to get married yet." Li Rongsen said frankly.

Wang Lina quickly said, "Grandpa, I think Rong Sen and I should get married right away. That way, we can shut those people up and prevent them from slandering Rong Sen. He's not the kind of person the newspapers say he is."

"It would be best if you could trust him. That's what a wife should do." Mr. Li was very satisfied with her understanding.

Wang Lina became even more excited when she heard this: "Grandpa, please pick an auspicious day so that Rong Sen and I can get married sooner and you can have a great-grandchild sooner."

When Mr. Li heard this, he laughed, as if it touched his heart.

Mrs. Li looked at Li Rongsen's face and found that he was expressionless and seemed to be thinking about something.

Wang Lina added, "Grandpa, our Wang and Li families have been friends for generations. My parents said that if I marry Rong Sen, he will be the one to run the family business."

Old Master Li looked towards Li Rongsen and asked him, "What are your plans?"

"I don't want to get married, nor do I want to manage the Wang family's business. The Li family is the Li family, and the Wang family is the Wang family." Li Rongsen answered coldly.

Mrs. Li was shocked and immediately looked at Mr. Li's expression, which was indeed not looking good.

Wang Lina was about to lose her temper, but she held it back and said, "What do you mean? Our engagement was arranged by Grandpa. Are you going to rebel against his decision?"

"I have the final say on my marriage. I won't marry you, not now, not in the future, and never." Li Rongsen looked at Wang Lina calmly, then stood up and said to Old Master Li, "Even if you ask me to leave the Li family, I won't regret it."

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and An Yan walked in from outside and said, "Sorry, I'm late."

Everyone looked at her, surprised, wondering what she was doing there.
