Chapter 9 We Meet Again
An Yan thought that she could easily deal with these people, but when she heard that An Yichen was in their hands, she decided to endure it for the time being, so that no one would harm him, and she took the initiative to get into the car.
I heard the car door slam shut, and then the car started.
On the other side, An Yichen was sitting in a large office.
The most prominent feature here is not the desk, but the two large bookshelves against the wall. The floor-to-ceiling bookshelves are filled with books without any gaps. The shelves are separated by a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing sunlight to shine in unimpeded and illuminate the entire room.
Sitting opposite An Yichen was Li Rongsen, who was saying to him, "You just started college and you're still a minor."
"I'll officially be an adult in three months."
"Then you should study hard instead of looking for a job."
"There is no conflict between studying hard and finding a job." An Yichen's eyes were full of stubbornness. He didn't want his sister to work too hard. He thought that since he was almost a man, he should shoulder the burden of the family and it was necessary for him to earn more money.
Li Rongsen checked his watch and asked, "Does your family know?"
"This is my own business, and of course I have to make the decision myself."
"No law firm in the world would hire an underage student."
An Yichen frowned. He had always wanted to join the top law firm here, but he ended up being brought here because he couldn't reach an agreement with the boss there. He was also annoyed by the questions and said, "If you don't want to hire me, why did you ask me here? Besides, you're not the head of that law firm."
"I think you should tell your family about this." Li Rongsen stood up and pressed the phone on the table, asking, "Have they arrived?"
"Already here." It was the voice of the robot from before.
The door opened and An Yan walked in. When she saw An Yichen, she immediately walked up to him and looked him over, asking, "What's going on? Did they bully you?" Then she looked at Li Rongsen and asked, "Excuse me, what does this mean?"
"Sister." An Yichen was incredulous. She looked towards Li Rongsen again and said in a bad tone, "You shouldn't be like this. This is my own business."
"What happened?" An Yan asked again.
"He's a minor and wants to work in a law firm." Li Rongsen said, and signaled his assistant to pour tea.
An Yan was puzzled when she heard this and said to An Yichen, "Your most important task now is to study, not work. Your sister will take care of the money-making."
"I'm not just doing this for the money. I want to go to a law firm to study earlier. This is also my major." An Yichen tried his best to make his words sound better.
This reason was not wrong, but An Yan thought it was unnecessary to work so hard and said, "Let's do it later. There's no need to rush at this moment."
"I just want to go." An Yichen also had a willful temper. He said to Li Rongsen, "This person is also weird. He is obviously not the head of the law firm, but he brought me here and said he would find a solution for me. In the end, he told you the whole thing. It's really inexplicable."
An Yan frowned. When she looked at Li Rongsen, she felt that his attitude was softer today. She heard him say, "I asked you to come here today for two reasons. One is about your brother's job at a law firm. The person in charge is my friend. As long as you agree, I can be a guarantor for your brother and let him go to gain experience."
"Really?" An Yichen's eyes lit up when he heard this. He quickly pulled An Yan's arm, signaling her to agree quickly.
How could An Yan not feel sorry for her brother, especially since he wanted it so much? But she owed this man a favor, so she was a little hesitant.
But An Yichen was anxious and had already started to make promises, saying, "I promise I will never delay my studies, and look..." He opened his schoolbag, took out a test paper, handed it to her, and said, "This is my first class placement test, and I got first place in the whole school, with a perfect score. No one has ever gotten a perfect score before."
An Yan had no choice but to follow his lead and said to Li Rongsen, "Thank you for your help. I'll thank you later."
"That's not necessary. It's just a piece of cake." Li Rongsen gestured for them to sit down and said, "I also want to thank you."
"What do you mean?"
"You saved a lady on the road yesterday. That was my mother."
"You got the wrong person, it's not me." An Yan objected.
"It's definitely you." He pushed a bank card over and said, "This is your reward. Thank you for your help. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to see my mother."
"No need. I didn't save her for money."
"Of course I know, but you deserve it."
"Unless I negotiate a deal with a clear price, I won't care about the money." Although An Yan needed money, she knew in her heart that not everything in this world had to be exchanged for money. She added, "My brother and I should leave too. We'll meet again if we're destined to."
When Li Rongsen saw them turning to leave, he said, "Since you don't want to accept the money, then accept my mother's kindness."
"You don't have to take it to heart." An Yan said lightly.
"My mother longs to see you. Would it be okay if you could come home for some tea?" Li Rongsen asked in a more polite tone than before.
An Yan thought about it for a moment, and finally agreed, saying, "Okay."
"I'll pick you up the day after tomorrow night, so you should prepare well." Li Rongsen smiled contentedly, the curve of his mouth dyed clean and confusing by the sunlight.
An Yan took An Yichen's hand and left. After they left, she said to him, "You are a little brat. I have enough money to support you and dad. Just focus on studying hard."
"I'm an adult now, and I want to be a man." An Yichen said to her with a smile, and whispered in her ear, "That man just now was quite handsome."
"how?"
"I always thought I was the most handsome, but I didn't expect that he was several levels more handsome than me." An Yichen praised seriously.
But An Yan didn't know what he was thinking. She said, "Because he helped you, you are praising him so self-deprecatingly?"
"No way! If someone like this were my brother-in-law, I would have nothing to say."
"What nonsense!" An Yan sneered and pressed the elevator button.
The two of them went to the first floor lobby together.
A woman came over from the front, the sound of her high heels was like rhythmic music. She was tall, and the tight dress made her exquisite figure more prominent. The look in her eyes was equally arrogant, and she looked around with disdain, as if everyone was just insignificant dust.
An Yan brushed past her, but she grabbed her arm and she heard her say, "Who are you? Is this your first time here?"
"What's up?"
"There are never strangers here, especially women." Her face darkened as she asked, "Are you here to see Rong Sen?"
