Chapter 510 Received a Letter

Chapter 510 Received a Letter

"I'm not that evil, and I haven't done anything. It's unfair for you to convict me like this." Kong Yun still felt wronged. He blamed himself for being too frank. It would be better for him to refuse to admit it. They couldn't do anything to him.

An Yan's attitude was very indifferent. She just said, "Go back."

"City Lord, I have no intention of disrespecting you." Kong Yun wanted to defend himself, but An Yan gave him a cold look, forcing him to shut up. He didn't dare to say anything else and just strode out of the house.

The old man frowned and started cursing: "I'm so angry! Who is this person? He actually has such a plan. He must be a real jerk."

"Give him back what he deserves. Don't accuse us of going back on our word. Just prepare some gold or something to give to him. Don't be stingy. It's better to give more." An Yanqing gave the order coldly and sorted out the herbs on the table.

"I think we should kick him out. He shouldn't stay in West City anymore." The old man felt that this was the only way to be safe.

An Yan said, "Whether he wants to go or stay is entirely up to him. Why should we interfere? There's no need to chase him away. He might not be able to stay any longer."

The old man was just angry. He really didn't like people who were scheming.

But An Yan was thinking about something else. She said, "He's really capable. How did he achieve immortality?"

"He's different. He's the descendant of NĂ¼ Huo, and he has something special that no one else has. That's why he looks down on Mr. Li. I'm afraid he doesn't even take me seriously."

"You're almost there, right?"

"I dare not." The old man shook his head slightly, and then said, "It would be very boring if only one person lived."

An Yan glanced at the old man and asked him, "You've never looked for her?"

The old man continued to shake his head and said, "She can't remember anything. I don't want to disturb her. Just miss her for a while."

An Yan didn't say anything more. She knew that this was the old man's sad story. She just said, "I'll go back and eat."

"City Lord." The old man suddenly called out to An Yan.

An Yan looked over to him and asked, "What's wrong?"

"If one day I'm no longer in West City, I hope the City Lord will take care of me." The old man said this while bowing respectfully to An Yan. He didn't trust anyone else but An Yan.

An Yan was confused and chuckled. Then she said to the old man, "How can you say such things to me? You have lived longer than me."

The old man also laughed and said, "Everything has exceptions. Who knows what will happen tomorrow?"

"I understand what you mean. If you want to go find her, go ahead." An Yan said to him generously, and added, "I will wait for you to come back."

"Not yet." The old man said with his eyes lowered.

An Yan smiled slightly, then walked out of the house and returned to her place.

Li Rongsen and Yan Qingqiu were waiting for her to come back, and the table was already filled with a sumptuous dinner.

An Yan walked into the house and asked, "Haven't Meidie and Beifeng returned yet?"

"He just came back and said he would eat in his own room and not come to our room." Yan Qingqiu picked up the chopsticks and said, he could hardly hold back.

But just as he finished speaking, Meidie and Beifeng walked in together.

Mei Die sneered at Yan Qingqiu and said, "Don't make up stories about us. You're always talking nonsense."

Yan Qingqiu glanced at her and said, "I'm just guessing. It doesn't matter if I'm wrong."

Bei Feng sat next to Mei Die and said to An Yan, "We have already taken back all the ballots from the city over there. We will see who they choose soon."

An Yan nodded, picked up the bowl, and said, "Eat first."

Li Rongsen picked up some food for An Yan and asked her, "Did Kong Yun go back?"

"When we got back, we made it clear to him that he would never come to the inner city again." An Yan explained to him to prevent him from having any wild thoughts.

Li Rongsen was naturally happy with the result, and his mood became cheerful.

Yan Qingqiu chuckled awkwardly. He was making fun of Li Rongsen, who was indifferent to everything else but couldn't control his emotions towards An Yan. Mei Die seemed to have noticed something and said, "Just now I saw that Mr. Li looked unhappy, but now he has changed."

"That's right. Didn't you see who was talking just now?" Yan Qingqiu continued with a smile.

"How are the people in the city over there? Are they all fine?" Li Rongsen changed the subject at the right time to avoid Yan Qingqiu laughing at him again.

Bei Feng said, "That's all fine. They've been shouting about coming over to thank the City Lord, but I told them it's unnecessary. They can just live well and peacefully. West City will not treat them unfairly."

Meidie smiled and said, "I found that I am not as good at speaking as Beifeng. I made them feel relieved."

"There are still some people from that side in the city. We should send them all back someday," said An Yan.

"This is easy, the old man will arrange it. I'm just afraid that some people don't want to go back and insist on staying in West City." Yan Qingqiu said.

"No, people who are used to living on the water cannot live without water. They will definitely have to go back, but I'm afraid they can't live at home anymore." Beifeng signaled him not to worry about this matter.

"Don't worry if we can't live in it. We can just find someone to help repair it." An Yan replied.

"I'll arrange it." Li Rongsen replied. He didn't want her to worry about everything.

An Yan nodded and chuckled, then picked up a piece of food and put it into his bowl.

Meidie sighed and said, "I miss the day when we ate on the boat. It was so romantic."

"You're too greedy. How can you be romantic every day? It takes so much effort." Yan Qingqiu said, then realized what was going on and said to Beifeng, "I almost didn't understand the deeper meaning. She was talking to you, not us."

Bei Feng immediately laughed and said, "Okay, I'll remember that."

"Oh, are you stupid? Don't believe his nonsense. That's not what I meant." Mei Die snorted at Yan Qingqiu.

"Oh, you're still shy? You've already said it, why are you changing your words?" Yan Qingqiu just wanted to tease her and said, "You should be frank and generous. Don't be so secretive."

"I don't want to bother with you." Meidie couldn't argue with him so she just stopped talking.

At this moment, something flew in from outside and headed straight for Li Rongsen. He reached out to take it. It was a scroll of brocade. He said, "It's a letter from Linghai."

"What's going on with him?" Yan Qingqiu asked.

"Is Lingxian's funeral over?" An Yan asked Li Rongsen.

"It will take 49 days to complete." Li Rongsen replied.

Yan Qingqiu was surprised and blurted out, "What is he going to do? He doesn't have to be so affectionate. Seven days is enough."

Meidie's expression changed immediately and she just lowered her eyes to eat.

Beifeng also noticed her abnormality, but did not ask. He just picked up some food and brought her some soup, pretending to know nothing.

Li Rongsen opened the brocade and read it. He said, "It's a letter from Uncle Wang. He said that grandma is in poor health and he's at a loss as to what to do. He wants you to come over and take a look."

An Yan frowned and quickly took out the silk to read it again. On it was Uncle Wang's note about grandma's illness and symptoms.

"We have to go and take a look." An Yan said. She had a special feeling for the old lady, and she couldn't just stand by and watch her die. She planned to go and treat the patient.

"It's too late today, let's set off early tomorrow morning." Li Rongsen said.

Fortunately, the old lady's illness wasn't too serious. An Yan carefully analyzed the symptoms Uncle Wang had written down, but there was still something that puzzled her. She said, "This symptom looks like a Gu." After that, she handed it to Yan Qingqiu and said, "Take a look and see if this is the case."
