Qin Fengying was so anxious at home that she paced back and forth, her hands trembling so much that she could barely hold the phone while dialing.
"Honey, I can't get through to Han'er on the phone. Have you tried contacting him?"
Lu Baofei acted first and informed Huo's family later, merging her company into Huo's. When Lu Zhengming found out, he was furious and smashed his house to pieces.
After driving away, he never returned to the Lu family home.
During such a crucial period of transition, Lu Zhengming never dreamed that the first person to betray him would be his most prized daughter!
Upon seeing this, the shrewd shareholders of the Lu Group abandoned the company without a second thought.
If it weren't for a few close friends supporting him, Lu Zhengming, who was so angry he looked like a pufferfish, would have preferred to just self-destruct!
He really couldn't bear the shame!
Qin Fengying was completely kept in the dark. As she watched the expensive furniture riddled with holes, and Lu Zhengming, slumped among them, recount the hardships of starting a business, word by word.
Only then did they realize that Lu Baofei had created such a huge hole in the Lu family's empire.
But now she can't get in touch with Lu Han, which is a matter of life and death for the Lu family. Right now, she has no choice but to ask Lu Zhengming for help.
Upon hearing Lu Zhengming's drunken voice on the phone, Qin Fengying burst into tears.
“I also called his school, and the school said he had taken leave.”
"I... I've heard that Han'er often contacts a close friend in China. After thinking it over, I can only think of the Lin sisters."
"But Lin Mengmeng said she hated Lu Han to the core, and Lin Xiaoya's phone was completely unreachable."
"Zhengming, call those friends and ask them to help find your son!"
The string was still in his hand, but the kite had already disappeared into the fog.
This feeling of uncertainty made Qin Fengying feel flustered and at a loss.
She dared not imagine how she would live the rest of her life if Lu Han disappeared silently on the other side of the ocean!
"Why are you wailing so early in the morning!"
"Even if my son doesn't die, he'll be sent to his death soon by your wailing and howling!"
Lu Zhengming let out a burp, sounding like the storm had passed and his mood wasn't as bad as before.
Qin Fengying was stunned for a moment. A glimmer of hope ignited in her heart.
He quickly pulled out a few napkins from the cracked cardboard box next to him and wiped his face a few times.
"So, you know where your son is?"
Because she was excited, she spoke in a high-pitched voice, which startled Aunt Wu who came over to clean.
Aunt Wu frowned in shock. "Madam, what's wrong with Young Master Yi?"
"Who asked him? I was asking Han'er!"
Qin Fengying blurted it out.
His expression changed only when he heard the sound of the broom falling.
Did she subconsciously treat Lu Yi as a son, as she claimed?
"It was my fault for being so talkative..."
Aunt Wu lowered her head, picked up the broom, and went upstairs.
A few playful laughs came from the other end of the phone.
"Mom! Can you recognize who I am?"
"Mom...are you listening?"
Lu Han called out to Qin Fengying several times before she came to her senses.
"Han'er, how... how did you end up with Daddy?"
She stammered as she asked the question, finally finding her voice. Overwhelmed with surprise and joy, tears welled up in her eyes.
"My dad came to see me and gave me such a big surprise!"
Lu Han playfully pushed Lu Zhengming's arm.
The father and son both drank alcohol last night and slept soundly. Lu Han's phone had been bombarded with messages long ago and had to be turned off.
If Lu Zhengming hadn't just turned on his phone, he wouldn't have received Qin Fengying's call.
"Is your dad...is he alright?"
Qin Fengying clenched her fists and placed them in front of her chest, her back sweating profusely with nervousness.
She never dared to confront Lu Zhengming head-on, and she could never win an argument with him.
He was furious that day, so there was no point in arguing with him. Qin Fengying could only deal with him cautiously, and she didn't utter more than ten words.
She spent several anxious days and nights trying to persuade Lu Baofei to give a proper explanation.
Unexpectedly, this man with a temper as fierce as a raging torrent secretly went to visit his son.
"He's fine, he just looks really tired!"
As she spoke, Lu Han lowered her voice, "Mom, did you two have a fight? My dad cried his eyes out last night and said a lot of strange things."
Qin Fengying sighed softly.
I don't know how to begin.
After a moment of silence, she finally told the truth, feeling wronged.
"It's all because of your second sister. I don't know what she was thinking, but she joined the Huo family's gang!"
"As you know, the domestic real estate industry is booming, and everyone is making a fortune. So many people are jumping in blindly, and the shareholders of Lu's Group have been itching to get in long ago!"
"If your second sister sets such a precedent, will they still be willing to work with the Lu family to earn that hard-earned money?"
Lu Han already knew.
He has informants in the country too.
That biological mother was good for nothing else, but she was a master at gathering bits and pieces of information.
Lu Han not only knew that Lu Baofei had boarded the Huo family's ship, but also knew that Lu Yi had almost died from serious injuries.
Originally, he had persuaded his mother to find a way to infiltrate the Huo family to work and monitor Lu Yi.
Unfortunately, his own mother was unhelpful; she used her face too many times and ended up on the Huo family's old butler's blacklist.
But that doesn't stop anything.
Because Lu Baoqi frequently visited the Huo family's residence and often made phone calls to Du Guanglong on set without regard for others.
When Lu Han's biological mother was working as an extra, she struck up a conversation with Lu Baoqi every few times.
She calls herself "Cuihua".
The director saw that she had good speaking skills and was serious about acting, especially when she played a vicious old woman or a rogue daughter-in-law. Her eye acting was also more outstanding than others, so he kept her on the team.
