Chapter 3: How exactly did his adoptive parents raise him?

Passersby gathered around in layers, pointing and watching the spectacle.

But no one dared to step forward and lend a helping hand.

Lu Baoyun clenched her fists and pounded the steering wheel a few times before opening the car door and angrily walking towards the person lying on the ground.

"Don't you have eyes? You damaged my car, can you afford to pay for it?"

She kicked the bicycle angrily and cursed the victim to calm her inner turmoil.

Lu Yi tried to move his legs and secretly rejoiced that he had dodged in time and had not been run over by the car wheel, otherwise his future life would have been in trouble.

Wait a minute, that voice sounds so familiar...

Lu Yi turned his head slightly and saw a face he never wanted to see again through the stray hairs on his forehead.

"Young lady, you hit someone with your car, how can you be so self-righteous!"

"Exactly, rich people these days are getting more and more arrogant."

"She's so fierce at such a young age, whoever marries her is doomed."

"Look at that car, it's probably some rich kid showing off his superiority!"

"She didn't even know to call 120 to save the person first, and instead came to cause trouble for the victim. I really don't know how her parents raised her?"

"You should avoid girls with no manners like that from now on!"

Everyone was chattering away, completely disregarding Lu Baoyun's feelings.

She was so ashamed and indignant that she stomped her feet, but she was speechless.

It wasn't until the traffic policeman emerged from the crowd that she thought to call an ambulance, but in that instant of looking down, she also saw the face of the person on the ground.

Lu Yi?

"Brother, are you alright?"

Before anyone knew it, Lu Han, who had been hiding in the car, ran over, grabbed Lu Yi's arm, and made a very strenuous expression.

Upon seeing the traffic police, he deliberately raised his voice.

"Fourth sister, brother just learned to ride a bicycle, and you came to find him because you were worried... Luckily we arrived early."

Lu Han gripped Lu Yi's arm tightly, but she didn't actually intend to help him up; she was just putting on an act for everyone.

Lu Baoyun's mind doesn't work that fast.

He stared at Lu Han with a bewildered expression.

I simply don't understand what he's trying to say in such a roundabout way.

"Sis, come lend a hand! Brother seems to be injured. Let's get him to the hospital quickly!"

Those watching the commotion were stunned by Lu Han's words.

Some shrugged awkwardly and left, thinking, "Oh, we're all family!"

Some looked on with disdain and immediately changed their tune: "Running away from home is unacceptable. This kind of brat deserves to be taught a lesson!"

"What era are we living in? People eat and drink what their parents provide, yet they don't know how to be grateful. It's not a bad thing if they learn a lesson!"

"Let's call it a day. That kid can't even get up. I think he's ruined!"

Lu Baoyun blushed and reluctantly helped Lu Yi up.

When I saw the wound on his arm, my scalp tingled and my whole body broke out in goosebumps.

Lu Han spoke fluently, explaining the relationship between the three to the traffic police.

"Uncle, we're really sorry to have troubled you. We'll call Mom and Dad right away, and they'll take care of all the losses."

Seeing that Lu Yi remained silent, the traffic police did not ask too many questions.

This matter was treated as a routine accident.

Before leaving, seeing that Lu Yi was sweating and his lips were pale, and that Lu Baoyun and Lu Han, who were not very old, seemed to be quite frightened, they took the initiative to call an ambulance for them.

The doctor's initial diagnosis: a fracture in the left arm.

Without saying a word, they lifted Lu Yi into the ambulance and drove him to the hospital, repeatedly instructing his family to follow.

After everyone left, Lu Han returned to her harmless and obedient demeanor.

"Fourth sister, brother must know he was wrong and is afraid of being scolded by Mom and Dad, so he deliberately crashed into your car to create an accident and gain sympathy... Let's tell Mom and Dad!"
