Chapter 344 It's Too Late

When Lu Baofei got home, she didn't see her mother, so she asked Wu Ma to make her a cup of coffee before going upstairs.

Lu Yi's suggestion was very appealing to her, but Lu Baofei couldn't quite figure out whether it was his own idea or Huo Jingxi's.

Standing at the top of the stairs, I first sent a message to my secretary.

[Wei An, please find out which companies have hydrogen energy projects and provide me with a list and brief introduction.]

They quickly agreed.

Looking down the silent corridor, Lu Baofei walked and opened the doors of each room.

The eldest sister's room is near the stairs, and she comes home at any irregular time.

Sometimes in the middle of the night, sometimes in the early morning, sometimes at noon, the first thing I do when I get home is either take a shower or go to sleep.

The third sister loves beauty, and her room walls are covered with her own photos and posters.

The dressing table is filled with a dazzling array of cosmetics and jewelry. Most of the time at home is spent applying face masks and exercising.

Fourth Sister Bao Yun's room is filled with all kinds of books, magazines and comics.

On the easel at the foot of the bed, on the rug, lies an unfinished painting.

It was a cat, entirely black except for its four white paws. It was lying prone as if about to jump, and its head was only an outline with no facial features.

Go further inside, and you'll find Lu Han's room.

The glass cabinet was filled with all sorts of game consoles, figurines, and a jumble of books.

Most of them were still unopened.

Lu Baofei remembered that Lu Han had pestered Bao Yun to buy these books, saying that she loved reading the most.

She casually put the book back in its place, her knee bumping against a cabinet door below.

The spring loosened, and it opened by itself.

Seeing a blue woven bag open, revealing a corner of the bag, her hand involuntarily reached out.

The bag tipped over towards the door, and a dozen jewelry boxes rolled onto her feet.

There were also a few crumpled pieces of paper mixed in, and a bag that she herself had forgotten where she put...

What are all these?

Lu Baofei opened the jewelry box in disbelief, only to find it empty.

She squatted down excitedly and opened everything... her mind went blank for a moment.

When Qin Fengying got home, she saw Wu Ma carrying coffee upstairs. She asked her a question, and when she heard that Baofei had returned, she took the coffee from her.

"Aunt Wu, it's rare for Baofei to come back, so go and prepare a few more dishes... Oh, and have Lao Xu go and buy a grouper, Baofei loves it!"

Seeing that her mother was in a good mood, Wu Ma smiled and agreed, then turned and went back to the kitchen.

"Baofei, where are you...?"

Qin Fengying pushed open the door, placed the coffee on the table, and frowned as she looked like no one was coming back.

Standing in the corridor, looking at the other open doors, she went from room to room.

Finally, it stopped in front of Lu Han's door.

"Baofei, what are you doing in Han'er's room!"

Looking at the empty boxes, bags, various torn books, and Lu Zhengming's favorite collectibles scattered on the bed, she was speechless for a long time. "This is..."

Lu Baofei choked back tears as she touched her brow.

"Mom, we always thought that Han'er was someone we had watched grow up and wouldn't do such a thing, and we even let him throw mud at Yi'er. But as it turns out, we were so wrong!"

Qin Fengying shook her head repeatedly.

I picked up a jewelry box that I thought I had lost and examined it over and over again.

"Could there be a mistake? Before Yi'er left..."

Seeing that she still dared not face reality and still wanted to bring up Lu Yi, Lu Baofei suddenly stood up and threw her most important contract in front of Qin Fengying.

"Mom, look at this! This contract caused my company to lose a huge amount of money!"

Back then, she had just signed a big deal and excitedly hosted a family dinner at home.

But after that day, the contract disappeared.

Coincidentally, the company was moving and some archived files were lost, and the contract happened to be on the lost hard drive.

Losing the contract wouldn't normally be a big deal, but the other party insisted on producing their own copy, claiming that Lu Baofei Company had tampered with it and that the terms of the two copies of the contract differed.

Unable to produce the original documents, Lu Baofei found herself in a passive position. In order to settle the matter peacefully, she had no choice but to renegotiate the price and start negotiating from the materials themselves.

As a result, all the previously purchased parts became useless.

Lu Han insisted that Lu Yi had taken the contract, and she gave a very detailed account.

Lu Baofei couldn't remember how she scolded Lu Yi at the time, she only knew that Lu Yi stood in the heavy rain for more than an hour that day.

Qin Fengying turned to the last page, glanced at the date, and slumped down on the edge of the bed.

Lu Baofei opened the crumpled paintings; they were all cats that Baoyun had drawn for Lu Yi.

"Mom, I know you treat Han'er like your own son, but you never care who his biological parents are!"

"Yi'er's excellence is obvious to all. Do you still stubbornly believe that Han'er is better than Yi'er?"

This was the first time the mother and daughter had spoken so directly. Qin Fengying stroked a bright orange glass bottle and fell into deep thought.

This bottle is about the same height as a mineral water bottle, with a round belly and a narrow mouth, and it's not worth much.

But this was a gift that Lu Zhengming bought for Qin Fengying. That day, she discovered that the bottle was missing and asked Wu Ma and the others, but she couldn't get any answers.

At the dinner table, she complained that Lu Han said she saw her brother go into their mother's room...

Lu Zhengming, who was already annoyed by company matters, seized the opportunity to snatch Lu Yi's chopsticks and kick him out.

At this moment, all the grievances Lu Yi had suffered became tangible.

"Consort Bao, my birthday is in a few days. Do you think we could hold a banquet and invite Yi'er over as well?"
