Hospital ward.
Lu Baozhi slowly woke up.
The sight of pure white jolted her awake, and she struggled to her feet, crying out, "Yi'er, Yi'er..."
"Big sister, how are you feeling without Yi'er here?"
Lu Baofei gestured to her third sister, Baoqi, to call the doctor, while she held down her eldest sister's hands to calm her down.
"Is Yi'er alright?"
Lu Baozhi's memory was still stuck on the moment the tire exploded, and she had no idea what happened afterward.
She doesn't even remember how she was taken to the hospital.
She tapped her forehead, trying hard to recall.
She could only vaguely recall Lu Yi holding her face and telling her to hold on.
Lu Baofei glared at her and complained, "Big sister, aren't you worried about yourself? You have time to worry about him?"
"When I arrived, he was sitting outside, looking much more energetic than you!"
Lately, she has been spending most of her time at home.
It was thought that the Lu family would have some peace after Lu Gengsheng's death.
Who would have thought that such a huge incident would occur in less than 24 hours?
Fortunately, the eldest sister woke up. If she had been in a coma for as long as she was a few years ago, the Lu family would have become the laughing stock in the industry again.
"Full of energy?"
Lu Baozhi stared at her second sister in surprise and suspicion, "He was in the passenger seat when the car overturned, how could he be completely unharmed?"
"Where is he now? I want to see him, I must see him..."
Lu Baoqi arrived with the doctor and entered the ward one after the other with Qin Fengying.
Seeing Lu Baozhi's panicked appearance, Qin Fengying froze on the spot, her voice trembling as she said, "Baozhi, don't scare your mother, what's wrong with you?"
Lu Baozhi pulled the needle out of the back of her hand, stepped barefoot onto the ground, grabbed Qin Fengying's arm and shook it, pressing her for answers.
"Mom, where's Yi'er? He's the one who rescued me. Did you rescue him?"
"Tell me, is he injured? Where is he? Tell me..."
Lu Baoqi had been living in agony these past few days.
I'm afraid to be alone once it gets dark.
Last night, she went to her fourth sister Lu Baoyun's room and squeezed into the same bed with her before she could get a good night's sleep.
Startled by her older sister's words, her heart raced, and endless despair filled her eyes. She involuntarily backed away down the corridor.
If the nurse hadn't caught her, she would have wanted to find a crack in the ground to hide in.
"Miss, the corridor is crowded, please be careful!"
After the nurse finished speaking, she also went into the ward.
"Dr. Lu, the tall boy who was brought to the hospital with you is fine and has already left."
The doctor in the white coat observed Lu Baozhi's reaction.
Seeing that she had calmed down and turned to look at Xiao Meng, her actions and demeanor were normal, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a great weight lifted from his shoulders. "Xiao Meng, do you two know each other?"
Meng Jie nodded and said, "Director, this is Dr. Lu, my former colleague. We haven't seen each other for a long time. I didn't expect this..."
Lu Baozhi released Qin Fengying and asked incredulously, "Meng'er, you really saw him?"
Meng Jie smiled and helped her onto the hospital bed. She waved for the others to go out with the doctor first, then pulled over a stool and sat down.
"I've not only seen him, I've also... I've even examined his body!"
"You have an open wound in your abdomen and have lost a lot of blood. It's much more serious than his wound. Are you in pain now?"
Perhaps because she had fully regained her senses, Lu Baozhi felt a pulling sensation in her abdomen, and when she moved her arm, she gasped in pain.
She gently pressed on the bandaged area to get a general idea of her injury.
He frowned and asked, "Did I get another blood transfusion?"
Seeing that her thoughts were flowing smoothly, Meng Jie was certain that the injury to her head had not caused any serious consequences, so she got up and took the discarded IV bag from the shelf.
"The blood loss is close to 1,000 milliliters. How can we not get a blood transfusion? But it's quite a coincidence..."
Meng Jie wrapped the IV tubing around her neck and placed it on the tray, suddenly remembering Lu Yi's resolute gaze.
He changed the subject abruptly, saying, "The blood bank happened to have some, so I used it on you right away. Okay, you rest for a while, and I'll go get the medicine and re-attach the IV!"
As she walked out of the ward, Meng Jie patted her chest.
Luckily, I didn't speak too quickly, otherwise I would have felt bad for Lu Yi.
Qin Fengying stopped Meng Jie anxiously, "Nurse, how is my daughter?"
Meng Jie gave a professional smile. "Auntie, Dr. Lu is out of danger. You don't need to worry. You can go in and see her now."
Lu Baoqi stared blankly at the ground, and at the slightest sound, she would hug herself and hide to the side.
The psychologist said that apart from being a little anxious, she had no other illnesses.
All you need to do is adjust your mindset.
But she herself felt that what she saw and heard was different from before.
When asked to describe it, she couldn't.
Just like last night, she stammered and explained a lot to Baoyun, but Baoyun treated those nonsensical things as a lullaby and fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.
"sister……"
Lu Baoqi tried taking a few deep breaths and slowly lowered her arms.
The sudden shout from the stairwell caught her off guard.
Her pupils dilated in fright, her hands were spread wide and pressed against the wall like some kind of animal's suction cups, and she trembled all over.
"Third sister, why are you all outside? Didn't eldest sister wake up?"
Seeing that the speaker was Lu Han, Lu Baoqi opened and closed her mouth, silently protesting.
The next second, she became furious and turned into a belligerent rooster, roaring at Lu Han.
"Why are you shouting so loudly? I'm not deaf, humph!"
Just then, Lu Zhengming arrived.
Old Wang, following behind him, was carrying a heavy fruit basket.
