Chapter 52 The Feng Shui Trap of Qingchuan's Old House: Shen Wangchuan Escaped
When Shen Yuepo walked out of the room, her face regained its usual coldness.
Downstairs in the lobby, Butler Wang was directing the servants to wipe the stair railings.
Seeing Shen Yuepo come downstairs, he immediately stopped what he was doing, his face showing undisguised surprise:
"Young Miss, when did you return? Would you like breakfast prepared for you?"
The guard at the gate last night clearly stated that the young lady had not returned home.
Could it be that the young lady can not only tell fortunes but also scale walls?
"I returned last night." Shen Yuepo said calmly, walking straight to Old Wang. "No need to prepare breakfast."
She paused, then added, "Butler Wang, could you please have someone change the sheets in my room when you have time?"
A hint of surprise flashed in Old Wang's eyes.
Changing the sheets? This is something the cleaning maid usually takes care of; why would the young lady specifically mention it?
But he was extremely professional, showing no sign of it on his face, and immediately replied, "Yes, Miss. I'll arrange for someone to go up and handle it right away."
"Hmm." Shen Yuepo nodded, her gaze sweeping across the empty hall, and asked seemingly casually, "Do you know where Shen Yichuan is?"
Old Wang's heart tightened. Had the second young master offended this troublemaker again?
He replied after careful consideration:
"Reporting to Miss, the Second Young Master accompanied Miss Yu Rou out early this morning. He said he was going to the hospital for a follow-up check-up and wouldn't be back until around noon."
Go to the hospital for a follow-up examination? Shen Yuepo sneered inwardly.
Shen Yurou's pitiful appearance completely captivated Shen Yichuan.
It's good that she came back at noon, so she doesn't have to go looking for them one by one.
Her face remained expressionless; she simply gave a faint "hmm" to indicate that she understood.
Shen Yuepo carried the old cloth bag and walked straight to the entrance.
Sunlight streamed through the tall French windows, illuminating her slender, upright figure, yet it seemed unable to dispel the chilling, austere aura emanating from her.
Old Wang stood there until Shen Yuepo's figure disappeared outside the door before he finally let out a long sigh of relief.
He dared not delay, and immediately summoned two quick-witted servants, whispering his instructions:
"Go to the young lady's room and change the sheets. Be gentle and careful. Don't look at what you shouldn't see, and don't ask what you shouldn't ask!"
As soon as Shen Yuepo stepped out the door, she bumped into Shen Wangchuan, Chairman Shen, and Madam Shen, whose eyes were visibly red and swollen, who had just returned from outside.
The atmosphere froze instantly.
Shen Wangchuan is in extremely poor condition.
His expensive suit was wrinkled, his face was frighteningly pale, and his lips had lost all color.
Her usually meticulously combed hair was now disheveled and plastered to her forehead, making her look disheveled and weak.
His gaze toward Shen Yuepo was extremely complex.
Chairman Shen's expression was also unusually solemn, his brows furrowed into a deep frown.
Madam Shen, standing to the side, instantly filled her already swollen eyes with tears the moment she saw Shen Yuepo clearly.
She had clearly heard from Chairman Shen and Shen Wangchuan about Shen Yuepo's words about "severing ties with family."
Seeing her daughter, whom she had lost and then regained, only to be so estranged from her now, made her almost lose control of her emotions. Her lips trembled, and she barely managed to hold back her tears.
Shen Yuepo paused only slightly, her gaze lingering on Shen Wangchuan for less than a second before she understood.
It seems he didn't take his warning seriously yesterday.
“Moon Soul…” Chairman Shen spoke first, his voice tinged with an unmistakable hoarseness.
He stepped forward, trying to block Shen Yuepo's path. "Do you have time? Let's talk."
Shen Yuepo's gaze swept over him calmly and without wavering, as if he were looking at an insignificant stranger:
"If it's about severing ties with family, I'm available. If not, then I'm not available."
After saying that, he turned to the side, preparing to walk around them.
"Moon Soul!"
Madam Shen finally couldn't hold back any longer, and cried out in a sobbing voice, tears streaming down her face.
"Yu Rou has promised Mom that she would get along well with you. Mom begs you, let's have a good talk, okay?"
She subconsciously reached out, as if to grab Shen Yuepo's arm, but then timidly stopped under Shen Yuepo's cold gaze.
Looking at his mother's grief-stricken state and recalling his own experience yesterday, Shen Wangchuan was overwhelmed with immense guilt and remorse.
He took a step forward and spoke in a hoarse voice:
"Moon Soul, thank you for reminding me the day before yesterday."
He pointed to a jade Buddha pendant on his chest that was charred and deformed, almost unrecognizable from its original form:
"Yesterday afternoon, I was inspecting the project progress at the construction site by the West Lake when, for some reason, my foot slipped and I fell into the lake."
That water was really strange; it felt like it was trying to pull me down, and I couldn't struggle at all. Just when I thought I was going to die…
He picked up the jade Buddha on his chest. "Fortunately, it was a jade Buddha that I had obtained from Mount Wutai. It emitted a faint golden light that lifted me up, and the people on the shore were able to pull me up in time."
He recalled the suffocating feeling that was dragging him, and his body shivered uncontrollably.
However, Shen Yuepo's expression remained unchanged after hearing this.
She simply gave a faint "hmm".
"I understand." Her tone was flat and even carried a hint of urging. "Move aside."
This extremely cold response was like a bucket of cold water poured on the hearts of the three people.
Chairman Shen felt a wave of powerlessness wash over him as he looked at Shen Yuepo, who remained unmoved and determined to leave.
He opened his mouth, but in the end he could only let out a heavy sigh.
Shen Yuepo took a few steps, then suddenly stopped and looked back.
The morning light slanted across her cool profile. "Shen Wangchuan escaped the feng shui trap of the old Qingchuan mansion."
A barely perceptible smile curved her lips. "He's lucky."
Shen Yuepo turned away, leaving only her last words drifting on the wind:
"The next person to face this calamity..." Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a suffocating chill, "...maybe they'll have such good luck again."
After saying that, she strode away.
The three people standing there all changed their expressions.
Shen Yuepo's words lingered in the minds of the three like a curse, bringing a chilling sensation.
Shen Wangchuan looked down at the charred and deformed jade Buddha on his chest, his eyes deep and unfathomable.
A moment later, he raised his head, his face regaining its usual composure, though a hint of solemnity lingered between his brows.
He looked at Chairman Shen, "Dad, there's no time to lose."
"The day after tomorrow, I will invite all the renowned masters in the field of metaphysics and feng shui in the capital to Qingchuan. With so many people working together, we will surely be able to find a way to break the ominous situation of the ancestral home."
Chairman Shen took a deep breath, his eyes sharpening. "The day after tomorrow, I will go to Qingchuan with you."
He must personally oversee the operation. The Shen family's century-old legacy must not be squandered under an unseen and ominous situation.
"I'm going too!"
Madam Shen suddenly raised her head, tears welling in her eyes, but her tone was unusually firm, "This time, our family will face it together. If the old master is watching from heaven, he will protect the Shen family and help them overcome this difficulty."
Although she was terrified, she didn't want to lose Shen Yuepo, nor did she want anything to happen to the Shen family.
Chairman Shen looked at the determination in Madam Shen's eyes and did not object. He simply squeezed her hand back silently, which was taken as tacit approval.
Meanwhile, outside Shen Yuepo's room.
Old Wang, accompanied by two servants, carefully pushed open the door.
The sight that came into view made them gasp.
Large patches of dark red and black bloodstains were visible on the off-white bed sheet.
A young maid couldn't help but gasp, but was silenced by Old Wang's stern glare.
"Hurry up, be quick, change it. Wrap the old sheets carefully and get rid of it. Keep everything you saw and heard today to yourself."
Butler Wang suppressed the turmoil in his heart, his voice stern, his palms sweating profusely.
Miss... what exactly happened last night?
