Chapter 18 Now Wealthy

Chapter 18 Now Wealthy

Xiao Linyuan's heartfelt words, "I cannot express my gratitude for such a great kindness," still echoed in the quiet alley.

Shen Yuepo touched the five-yuan bill in the pocket of his Taoist robe.

Without any formalities, she looked directly at Xiao Linyuan and said frankly, "No need for thanks. Just give me the money."

Xiao Yizhou's tightly pursed lips curved upwards into a clear arc, a rare occurrence.

This Shen Yuepo is surprisingly honest and interesting.

Xiao Linyuan was also taken aback, but then he realized what was happening and quickly spoke up:

"Of course! Of course! We'll transfer the money to your card later and have Yizhou hand it over."

"Miss Shen!"

Just then, Su Wan broke free from Xiao Linyuan's support and stumbled to Shen Yuepo's side.

Her face was still streaked with tears, and she clutched tightly to the sleeve of Shen Yuepo's Taoist robe, her voice trembling with sobs as she pleaded:

"Miss Chen, please, please come with us to the hospital to see Xiaoman. I'm scared, what if she... what if she left something behind...?"

She dared not utter that terrible word; overwhelming fear rendered her incoherent:

"You're very capable; I'll only feel at ease if you go and see for yourself! Just one look will suffice!"

Shen Yuepo was silent for a moment, his gaze sweeping over Su Wan's hand clutching his sleeve.

Silently remind yourself: Endure! They've already taken the money.

"Let's go." She said calmly, and walked towards the Bentley at the alley entrance first.

The VIP ward on the top floor of the Xiao family's private hospital.

The atmosphere remained tense and heavy, with the smell of disinfectant permeating the air.

Xiao Xiaoman lay on the large hospital bed, connected to various sophisticated monitoring instruments that showed stable vital signs.

Her face was pale, and her breathing was even, as if she had fallen into a deep sleep.

Several serious-looking experts gathered around the bed. When they saw Xiao Yizhou and the others bring in a girl dressed in a strange Taoist robe, a hint of surprise and confusion flashed in their eyes.

Su Wan rushed to the bedside, wanting to touch her daughter but not daring to, and could only call out tremblingly:

"Xiaoman? Xiaoman? Mommy's here..."

Shen Yuepo walked straight to the bedside.

She ignored the experts' gazes and focused her attention on Xiao Xiaoman's sleeping face.

"You all get out."

Xiao Linyuan immediately waved his hand, and everyone withdrew.

Su Wan didn't want to leave, but Xiao Linyuan helped her out of the ward.

The ward door was gently closed, isolating the patient from all outside sight and sound.

In the large, luxurious ward, only Shen Yuepo and Xiao Xiaoman, who was fast asleep on the bed, remained.

Shen Yuepo stood in front of the bed, his gray-blue Taoist robe looking somewhat out of place in the cold light of the sterile ward.

Her gaze was calm and serene as it fell upon Xiao Xiaoman's pale face.

Shen Yuepo extended his right index and middle fingers, but the fingertips did not touch Xiao Xiaoman's body directly. Instead, they hovered in the air about three inches away from her forehead.

A moment later, the golden light at Shen Yuepo's fingertips quietly faded. She opened her eyes, her gaze filled with understanding.

She walked to the door and opened it.

Su Wan and Xiao Linyuan, who were waiting outside the door, squeezed in almost immediately.

Xiao Yizhou followed closely behind, and all three of them stared intently at Shen Yuepo's face, their eyes filled with urgency.

“Miss Shen! Xiaoman, she…” Su Wan’s voice was choked with sobs.

"It's alright."

Shen Yuepo interrupted her, her voice clear and steady, "Your soul is stable, and your physical body is unharmed. You will recover to normal after a few days of rest."

Overwhelmed with joy, Su Wan's tense nerves collapsed, and her legs went weak.

They almost collapsed to their knees, but Xiao Linyuan held them firmly, and tears of relief welled up in both of their eyes.

“However,” Shen Yuepo changed the subject, her gaze sweeping over the three of them, “the reason why her soul left her body has been found out.”

"Please enlighten me, Miss Shen," Xiao Linyuan said in a hoarse voice, still shaken.

“This child,” Shen Yuepo’s gaze fell back on the sleeping face on the hospital bed, “has an extremely weak birth chart, making the connection between his innate soul and body weaker than that of ordinary people, and he is easily disturbed by the outside world.”

She paused, as if recalling the images she had captured during her earlier investigation:

"Just recently, did this child visit a place with a heavy yin energy? Such as a cemetery or a large mausoleum?"

Xiao Yizhou and Xiao Linyuan exchanged a glance, and instantly realized something.

"Yes!" Xiao Linyuan's voice was strained.

“Three days ago was the anniversary of the death of an uncle from a collateral branch of the Xiao family. Our whole family went to Xishan Cemetery to pay our respects. She was fine when we came back that day, but she started to look a little listless in the evening.”

“That’s right.” Shen Yuepo nodded. “In cemeteries, yin energy gathers, and there are many wandering ghosts and spirits.”

For ordinary people with abundant Yang energy, this is not a major problem. But for a child like her with a weak birth chart, it's like walking on the edge of a dark abyss.

Her voice was slightly low: "She must have been there, and unintentionally saw some wandering remnant souls, perhaps a scene of yin and evil resentment gathering together."

The immense shock instantly shattered her already fragile soul connection, causing her soul to leave her body and become lost.

Su Wan felt a chill run through her body as she listened, tightly clutching her husband's arm as if she were reliving that terrible loss all over again:

"Then...then from now on..."

"Try to avoid taking her to places like this in the future," Shen Yuepo instructed.

Su Wan nodded repeatedly, tears welling up in her eyes again: "Thank you, Miss Chen! Thank you..."

Shen Yuepo said no more.

She reached into her sleeve again, took out a talisman, and walked up to Su Wan.

"Have her wear this talisman close to her body or place it under her pillow. It can stabilize her spirit."

Su Wan carefully accepted it, "Thank you! Miss Shen, you are truly a great benefactor to our Xiao family!"

Su Wan sobbed uncontrollably, clutching the talisman tightly.

Shen Yuepo nodded slightly and said no more.

"Miss Shen!"

Xiao Linyuan stepped forward, "Whether it's Wanxing's matter or Xiaoman's matter, the Xiao family will forever remember your great kindness!"

He took out a bank card from the inside pocket of his suit jacket; it was one he had just had prepared.

He presented the item to Shen Yuepo with both hands, his attitude extremely respectful:

"A small token of my gratitude. The password is six zeros. In the future, if Miss Shen needs anything, as long as it doesn't violate morality, I, Xiao Linyuan, will go through fire and water for you!"

Shen Yuepo looked at the card, then touched the pitiful five yuan in her sleeve pocket, and without any politeness, readily reached out and took it.

"Okay. Thanks."

Her voice remained calm, as if she had only received an ordinary piece of paper.

However, the moment she lowered her eyes, the corners of her mouth on her cool and jade-like face turned up almost imperceptibly.

They've made money.

Xiao Yizhou looked at Shen Yuepo's slightly pale yet still aloof profile, his eyes deep and unfathomable.

He spoke solemnly again: "Miss Shen, the Xiao family owes you far more than just a card."

Shen Yuepo merely glanced at him indifferently, as if to say: The money in the card is enough.
