Chapter 103 Getting Beaten Up~

I strolled leisurely through the Jin family's spacious and tranquil courtyard, surrounded by blooming flowers and shady trees.

The faint fragrance of flowers drifted in the air like a wisp of smoke, immersing my mind and body in a state of pleasure and relaxation.

Just as I was enjoying the beautiful scenery, I glanced around and was surprised to find that Brother Jin Buwei was sitting in a wheelchair, slowly walking along the winding path next to him.

However, for some reason, he suddenly lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground, chair and all.

Seeing this, my heart tightened, and I hurriedly ran over.

"Brother, are you alright?" I asked with concern as I quickly reached out my hands to help him up from the ground.

Unexpectedly, he suddenly raised his head.

He glared at me fiercely and roared, "Get away! Don't touch me!"

Faced with his cold attitude, I was momentarily stunned, but quickly recovered and said, "Then...then I'll call a maid to help you!"

After all, seeing him lying on the ground in such a sorry state was truly pitiful.

“No need! I can do it myself!” he replied stubbornly, while trying to get back into his wheelchair using his own strength.

However, no matter how hard he tried, he failed.

"How can you be so ungrateful! I just wanted to help you when I saw you fall down!" I said, both angry and anxious.

He growled coldly, "I don't need your pity!"

"I only helped you because you're not acting in the name of our elder brother. I wouldn't bother with anyone else!"

After saying that, without waiting for his objection, I reached out and grabbed his arm, using all my strength to finally help him steadily back into his wheelchair.

Just then, he suddenly blurted out, "My second brother isn't exactly a good person, both inside and out. I hope you won't be like him, only doing superficial things to please others."

After saying that, he turned his wheelchair around and left without looking back.

I was left standing there dumbfounded, completely bewildered by his nonsensical words, feeling utterly lost.

When I returned to my bedroom, I heard familiar footsteps coming from the doorway.

The moment the door was pushed open,

To my surprise, I discovered that it was Jin Buwei who had returned.

I ran over hurriedly with my bare, snow-white feet.

His face was covered in wounds, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and his clothes were disheveled.

My gaze was instantly drawn to the streaks of bright red blood at the corner of his mouth, and several other visibly swollen wounds, which looked shocking.

"No! What happened to your mouth? And your face..." I was so heartbroken I could barely speak, my hands trembling uncontrollably.

He didn't answer me, but quickly stretched out his strong arms and pulled me into a tight embrace.

I could feel his body trembling slightly...

"I'm fine! I just really wanted to come back and see you. I was worried he might do something bad to you." His voice was low and hoarse, with a hint of undisguised pain.

"How could he beat you like this?" My heart ached as if it were being torn apart, and tears welled up in my eyes.

I gently raised my hand and carefully stroked his injured cheek. Every time I touched a wound, he would wince slightly in pain, but he remained silent.

"I'm really okay! Don't worry," he reassured me, forcing himself to endure the pain.

Seeing his battered and bruised appearance, I could no longer control my emotions, and tears welled up in my eyes: "It's all my fault. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have suffered like this."

My voice choked with sobs, filled with self-blame and guilt.

At that moment, he slowly reached out his right hand and gently stroked the corner of my eye, wiping away the tears that had fallen from my eyes: "Sui Sui, my wife, it's all worth it for you, don't cry."

Hearing his heartfelt words, I felt a mix of emotions.

I took a deep breath, turned around, and picked up the medical kit that was placed next to the bed.

Then, I took out the iodine solution and began to carefully treat his wound.

I used a cotton ball to apply a small amount of disinfectant and gently wiped the wounds on his face. With each wipe, my heart ached as if it were being pricked by needles.

Looking at those deep and shallow purplish-blue marks, my tears flowed uncontrollably again, dripping onto his clothes.

"Sui Sui! Don't cry!" He reached out and gently wiped away my tears.

He pulled me into a tight embrace.

I sobbed, my body pressed against his chest. "It's all my fault for dragging you down with me!"

"Sui Sui, as long as you're by my side, this little injury is nothing!"

He reached out and stroked my head.

A sharp "snap" shattered the tranquility of the room.

With that loud crash, he didn't hesitate to throw all the neatly arranged tea sets on the table onto the ground.

The objects that had been thrown out scattered all over the ground, making a crackling sound; shards of glass, like the anger in his heart, flew everywhere.

This also prevented him from venting his anger.

Qin Shisheng was furious, veins bulging on his forehead, his once mature and handsome face now appearing somewhat distorted and ferocious due to his anger.

The raging fire within him showed no sign of abating; on the contrary, it burned even brighter, his face flushed red, and his eyes blazing with fury.

He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, muttering to himself, "Jin Buwei, how dare he so blatantly compete with me for a woman! He has no idea how he's going to die!"
