With a slight effort, he snatched the knife away.
"You're asking for trouble!" he roared, his eyes wide with rage, veins bulging on his forehead.
"How dare you slap me and even point a knife at me! You really don't know your place!"
I retorted without backing down, my eyes burning with fury.
"So what? That's right, I'm tired of living! I'm utterly disgusted with you!"
"Hmph, you don't hate him?"
Do you think he's sincere towards you?
With a scoundrel like him who only cares about profit, let's see if he'll still have the arrogance to talk to me when he sends you to another man's bed like a piece of merchandise!
Why would you abandon my perfectly good woman and willingly let yourself be manipulated by other men?
His words undoubtedly struck a nerve, and the response I had just forgotten surged back into my mind like a tidal wave.
"Shut up! Shut your mouth right now!" I screamed hysterically.
She covered her ears tightly with both hands, trying to block out the offensive words.
However, those words kept echoing in my mind.
I still can't believe Jin Buwei would do such a thing...
Absolutely impossible! It can't be like that...
The immense pain made it impossible for me to support my body any longer. My body went limp, and I fell heavily onto the cold, hard ground.
My lips trembled slightly with grievance, and tears streamed down my cheeks. I had never cried so miserably before, and a trembling sound came from my throat from time to time.
For a moment, even breathing felt desolate.
I tried to regulate my breathing, but it was all in vain.
Qin Shisheng walked over worriedly, wanting to help me up.
"What's wrong with you? Why are you so agitated? Did he send you away?" The last sentence was delivered with a roar.
His yelling snapped me back to reality.
Reason returned instantly.
"You are the culprit! You are the root of all my suffering! It's because of you! Otherwise, I wouldn't need him to help me escape—even if he does send me away one day, it's because you forced me to!"
My voice became hoarse with extreme grief and indignation.
My body began to tremble uncontrollably, and I curled up helplessly on the cold floor.
Seeing how disheveled I looked...
A pang of heartache welled up in Qin Shisheng's heart.
He slowly reached out his arm, trying to pull me up from the ground.
"Don't sit on the ground anymore, you'll catch a cold!"
But I didn't want to get up at all, and I desperately tried to avoid his approach.
Seeing this, Qin Shisheng sighed helplessly, then strode forward, picked me up without saying a word, and carefully placed me on the seat.
My face slowly darkened.
I felt depressed.
We both fell silent for a moment.
The air around me felt incredibly oppressive.
I slowly raised my head and my gaze fell on him.
He sat quietly in the chair, his right hand hanging limply at his sides, bright red blood dripping from his fingertips and pooling on the ground in a shocking puddle.
He reached for the cigarette case on the table with his other hand, gently pulled out a cigarette, but stopped abruptly when he saw the crimson stains on his hands.
He tilted his head back slightly, a cold and bitter smile appearing on his lips: "You're simply sent by God to torment me!"
I took a deep breath
Try to calm yourself down.
After a long while, she managed to squeeze out a few words through gritted teeth: "My brother and Xiaohua... are they alright?"
"Still alive."
I breathed a slight sigh of relief, but then anger welled up inside me.
"Qin Shisheng, if you're even a man, stop making things difficult for my brother and Xiaohua. It's my fault for not liking you! What does it have to do with them? Can you please stop pressuring me like this!"
My voice was almost a shout.
He was taciturn, opened his mouth as if to say something, but then stopped.
"Calm down first!"
He tried to calm me down!
I slowly stood up from the chair and said.
"If all you want is to possess me, then I'm sorry, all I can offer you is a cold corpse!"
My eyes were filled with despair.
Without further hesitation, he turned and ran wildly toward the tall stone ornament in the corner of the wall.
Upon seeing this, Qin Shisheng's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly got up to try to stop me, but it was already too late!
With a muffled thud, my forehead slammed heavily against the hard stone.
In an instant, blood gushed from the wound like a fountain, blurring my vision, and the whole world gradually went dark before my eyes...
Just then, the door to the room was suddenly pushed open forcefully, and Lin Zhibai rushed in. He immediately saw me lying in a pool of blood, and his eyes widened in shock.
The next second, he clenched his fist tightly, his knuckles turning white from the excessive force.
"Call an ambulance!" Qin Shisheng shouted at Lin Zhibai, his voice filled with anxiety and fear.

I slowly woke up, and the first thing I smelled was a strong, almost pungent, odor of disinfectant.
The smell seemed to penetrate everywhere, entering my nasal cavity with my breath and stimulating my olfactory nerves.
He moved his fingers slowly and laboriously, trying to break free from his confused state of mind.
When I finally managed to open my eyes, the first thing I saw was a clean white ceiling.
