Chapter 165 The Underworld?

Before we knew it, it was the next day.

As soon as I stepped into the hospital, my colleague Liu Jiajia excitedly came up to me.

"Wow, you're famous now! Did you know that?" Liu Jiajia looked at me with a mysterious expression.

I was completely confused by her and had no idea what was going on.

"I'm famous? Why?"

"You don't know yet? The little girl you saved yesterday wasn't an ordinary person!" Liu Jiajia deliberately kept them in suspense.

"Who is it?" I asked anxiously.

"She is Zhou Yifeng's daughter!" Liu Jiajia finally revealed the answer.

"Zhou Yifeng? Who is he?"

"Oh my, you don't even know Zhou Yifeng? He's a powerful underworld boss in our cloud circle who can control everything!" Liu Jiajia seemed quite surprised by my ignorance.

Upon hearing this news, my eyes widened in shock.

"There are gangsters here?"

"There are gangsters everywhere!"

"Isn't it normal to save his daughter? I'm a doctor!"

"Her daughter was on the verge of death yesterday, and it was because you accurately judged that it was not a minor injury that you saved her!"

I nodded.

"And another thing! Dr. Li was fired, the one who judged the little girl's injury as minor!" Liu Jiajia whispered again.

"Maybe he was just busy yesterday... and got fired?"

"Yes! Zhou Yifeng is all-powerful here. Nobody dares to offend him. Even the dean personally takes care of his daughter," Liu Jiajia continued gossiping.

"It has nothing to do with me!"

Subsequently,

I quickly changed into my pristine white lab coat, ready to get to work.

Just then,

A figure rushed toward me. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was the head of the department.

He stopped to catch his breath, then said, "You're the new intern, Yao Qianqian, right?"

I nodded quickly. "Yes, Director, is there something you need from me?"

The director smiled and told me, "The father of the girl you treated yesterday wants to thank you in person! Why don't you go over there now?"

Upon hearing this, I couldn't help but hesitate.

I looked troubled and said to the head doctor, "Director, I have a lot of patients waiting to be treated, and I'm not very good at communicating with others, so I was thinking... could I not go?"

The director reached out and gently patted my shoulder.

She said to me earnestly, "Qianqian, as doctors, we not only need to have excellent medical skills, but we also need to understand human relationships and social customs!"

The person who came to express their gratitude is a very important figure. Since they specifically requested to see you to express their thanks, you absolutely have to give them that face. Hurry up and go over there!

After hearing the director's words, although he was still somewhat unwilling,

Not wanting to refuse any longer, he could only nod in agreement.

I quickly put on my mask and then walked towards the ward.

When I entered the ward

I found the little girl leaning against the bed, happily playing with her Barbie doll.

She was wearing a pink princess dress and looked beautiful and lovely.

I had just stepped into the room

My gaze was involuntarily drawn to the man sitting to the side.

He was dressed in a white robe, which looked like a custom design, simple yet elegant, and he exuded a cool and noble aura.

The man sat upright on the leather sofa next to him, his legs crossed. He wore gold-rimmed glasses, behind which were a pair of bright, almond-shaped eyes. He had jet-black hair and a refined, gentle face.

It gives people a kind and approachable feeling.

All that could be heard was the head doctor introducing Yao Qianqian, an intern at our hospital, to the dean and the man: "This is Yao Qianqian!"

The dean and the man both turned to look at me.

He looked at me with deep gratitude.

He said sincerely, "Thank you!"

I responded with a smile.

"I'm a doctor, it's my duty to treat and save lives! You're welcome!"

He waved to his subordinates.

The burly man behind me walked over and handed me a check.

"Take it!"

"This is not in accordance with regulations."

I couldn't help but think to myself, "Is this how you express your gratitude?"

The dean is still sitting.

He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses with his fair fingers.

Turning his head, he saw the dean and instantly exuded a strong sense of pressure as he spoke, "Isn't this against the rules?"

The dean gave an awkward smile. "It meets the requirements..."

He waved to me, signaling me to quickly take the check.

I reached out and took the check.

I glanced at it.

I can't help but marvel at how many zeros there are on top!

Just then, the little girl ran over.

She hugged my legs and looked up at me.

"Are you the pretty lady from yesterday?"

I gave an awkward laugh, squatted down, and started talking to her.

"You're beautiful too!"

I saw her reach out and open my mask.

Then, with delight, she exclaimed, "It really is you!"

I thought she was really mischievous.

She turned to look at the man beside her.

"Daddy, this girl is so pretty! I like her so much!"

"Be good, Xiao Jiu! Your sister is working!" He reached out and stroked the girl's hair, his eyes full of affection.

I think he really is a different kind of wealthy person. So far, he seems like a nice guy! He's polite, knows his place, and knows how to raise his daughter.

He looked up, but his gaze remained fixed on my face.

"Miss Yao looks familiar!"

"I guess I have an average face! If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now, I won't bother you any longer!"
