Chapter 33 Ex-Wife~

It was already late at night, and the darkness was as deep as ink.

I sat on the soft, comfortable leather sofa, feeling so sleepy I was almost falling asleep, and my body gradually relaxed.

Just then, a warm and strong hand gently wrapped around my waist.

I slightly opened my eyes and saw him looking at me with concern. He asked softly, "Are you sleepy?"

I nodded groggily and responded with a lazy "Mmm~".

His breath gently brushed against my face, bringing a warm and ticklish sensation.

He said gently but firmly, "Then let's go home."

Upon hearing this, I nodded again without hesitation.

So he put his arm around my waist, carefully stood up, and walked step by step toward the door.

We stepped into the elevator together, and as it slowly descended, my drowsiness became increasingly blurred.

However, the moment the elevator doors opened, the scene before me jolted me back to reality.

Huang Wen and a group of fierce-looking thugs, armed with gleaming machetes and terrifying explosives, stormed into the Golden Red Gate Hall and caused trouble.

Before they could even detonate the explosives, the well-trained bodyguards swiftly moved and pinned Huang Wen to the ground.

At the same time, Lin Zhibai and Xu Wei rushed out, followed closely by a row of imposing bodyguards.

These bodyguards were agile and swift, and easily subdued the group of thugs wielding machetes in just a few moves.

"I'm going to die with you all!" Huang Wen, pinned to the ground, roared angrily, his eyes bloodshot and his face contorted with rage.

Standing to the side, Qin Shisheng simply tilted his head casually, a disdainful smile curving his lips.

His eyes revealed an air of superiority and authority as he coldly said, "Oh! You dare to cause trouble on my turf? It seems the Huang family has truly reached its end..."

His tone was incredibly relaxed, as if he were talking about something trivial, like praising how bright the stars in the night sky are.

"Yes, Brother Qin, leave this matter to me!" Lin Zhibai said respectfully, bowing slightly and displaying a very humble attitude.

Qin Shisheng nodded expressionlessly, then reached out and patted Lin Zhibai's shoulder forcefully.

At the same time, a ruthless glint flashed in his deep eyes, as if he were sending a message to Lin Zhibai, sending a chill down one's spine.

Then, Qin Shisheng turned around, put his arm around my waist, and slowly led me towards the door.

Just as we took a few steps away, a miserable scream came from behind us. The sound was like the painful scream of someone being tortured, which sent chills down our spines.

My instinct was to turn around and see what had happened, but my body was controlled by fear and I couldn't move an inch.

So, I could only nestle tightly in Qin Shisheng's broad, warm embrace, close my eyes, and try my best not to think about those terrible things.

One step, two steps, three steps... Finally, we walked out of the main gate of the Golden Red Gate.

At this moment, night fell and the cold wind howled, making me feel cold all over.

Perhaps sensing my trembling, Qin Shisheng stopped and gently leaned close to my ear, saying softly, "It's getting cold, remember to wear more clothes next time."

After saying that, he took off his black suit jacket without hesitation and carefully draped it over my shoulders.

I gently stroked his coat with both hands, feeling the lingering warmth of his body on it.

However, even so, I still felt incredibly cold inside.

Just now, I witnessed his murderous gaze firsthand, a look that sent chills down my spine. Only now did I truly realize how terrifying this man was.

So it turns out a single glance can kill...

Just then, Jiang Zhou's familiar face appeared before them. He quickly walked to the back door and respectfully opened it.

Inside the car, I remained nestled in Qin Shisheng's arms, pretending to be fast asleep.

The next day, as dawn broke, the sunlight streamed through the window and onto the dining table.

Qin Shisheng and I were quietly enjoying breakfast, the air filled with a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Just then, the light sound of high heels approached from afar, breaking the tranquility.

A woman in her thirties, dressed in an orange cheongsam, gracefully entered.

The cheongsam was well-tailored, perfectly outlining her graceful figure; its unique design further highlighted her elegant temperament.

A gentle and charming smile appeared on her lips. Her gaze first fell on me, then lingered for a moment before turning to Qin Shisheng.

Qin Shisheng put down the napkin in her hand, gently wiped the corner of her mouth, then raised her head and looked at the uninvited guest with a cold gaze.

"Ah Sheng..." the woman called his name softly, her voice gentle and melodious.

Qin Shisheng replied expressionlessly, "Speak." His tone was icy.

The woman seemed to be used to his attitude. She slowly walked to his side and sat down gracefully.

Then, she shifted her gaze to me, a hint of hesitation in her eyes, as if she didn't want me to hear what she was about to say.

Seeing this, I quickly stood up, ready to tactfully leave this place of trouble.

However, just as I took a step, Qin Shisheng suddenly reached out and grabbed my wrist, pulling me forcefully to make me sit down again.
