Chapter 78 Ancestor Worship Crisis

The next morning, he gently stroked my cheek, waking me from my sleep.

"Get up! We're going to pay respects to our ancestors today!"

He wore a black suit, impeccably tailored, dignified and imposing, as if every line had been meticulously designed to showcase his unique charm and charisma.

What he prepared for me was a simple black dress. The dress didn't have too many complicated decorations, but it perfectly outlined my figure, making me look elegant and graceful.

Afterwards, we got into the Rolls-Royce Phantom and slowly drove towards the distant Qin Family Ancestral Hall.

It took about half an hour to drive there.

The car stopped in front of a magnificent circular open-air building. This Qin Family Ancestral Hall was imposing, magnificent, and awe-inspiring.

Stepping inside the ancestral hall, rows of neatly arranged memorial tablets come into view, giving one a strong sense of awe.

Beside the memorial tablets sat several highly respected and virtuous monks, their eyes closed and palms clasped together, chanting mantras. The sound of their chanting rose and fell, echoing throughout the ancestral hall.

Qin Shisheng stepped forward and knelt respectfully at the front, with Qin Hai and Qin Shan kneeling behind him in turn.

He carefully picked up a thick stack of paper money, placed it in the iron basin in front of him, and then gently lit it with a match. The flame rose up and illuminated his handsome profile.

In the firelight, his features appeared even more defined and distinct, and his already serious expression looked even more solemn and dignified.

I, along with my aunt and Xue Yu, knelt silently in the last row.

Looking at this scene, I couldn't help but sigh: They really pay too much attention to these traditional etiquettes.

The solemn and dignified worship ceremony finally came to a successful conclusion.

Qin Shan carefully supported his elderly father, Qin Hai, as they walked slowly ahead, each step appearing exceptionally steady.

Just then, a soft voice called out from behind: "Husband~"

Qin Shan turned around upon hearing the sound, his gaze immediately falling on his wife, Xue Yu.

At the same time, a well-trained subordinate quickly stepped forward and took over from Qin Shan in supporting his father.

Then, Qin Shan turned and walked in the direction his wife was.

As he approached, Xue Yu whispered to him, "Honey, the baby in my belly is kicking me!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shan quickly shifted his gaze to his wife's slightly protruding belly.

She was very thin, but unless you paid close attention, it would be hard to tell that she was pregnant.

Qin Shisheng gently took my hand, and we slowly walked outside together.

On the other side, his subordinates had already respectfully opened the car door, ready to welcome Qin Hai onto the bus.

However, at this seemingly ordinary moment, suddenly, a deafening roar resounded, followed by a dazzling light that pierced the sky.

In the blink of an eye, Qin Shisheng, with his sharp eyes and quick hands, grabbed me tightly beside him and pressed me down onto the ground.

In an instant, the surrounding air seemed to be torn apart by an incredibly powerful force, forming an extremely violent shockwave that spread rapidly in all directions.

Wherever the shockwave passed, sand and dust flew everywhere, and even the withered branches and leaves nearby danced wildly in the air.

The whole scene was chaotic and terrifying.

With a deafening roar and the impact of the shockwave, the car that had been parked on the spot instantly turned into a fireball, its fragments scattering in the flames.

The surrounding subordinates and bodyguards were terrified by this sudden turn of events.

Some people covered their ears tightly and lay on the ground like ostriches.

Others were covered in blood and lay motionless on the ground like a pile of mud.

"Dad!" Qin Shan's deafening roar rang out.

Qin Shisheng was extremely annoyed.

She first asked me with concern, "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine!" My voice trembled slightly.

Qin Shisheng instructed, "Don't move, I'll go check!"

Then he walked over and called out, "Jiang Zhou!"

"President Qin, I'm here!" Jiang Zhou's clothes were covered in dust, and his face was ashen, looking utterly disheveled.

"Contact Lin Zhibai, I need to know who did it immediately!" His voice was strong and powerful.

"President Qin! Okay!" He picked up the phone and started contacting Lin Zhibai.

Qin Shan and his aunt ran over excitedly, crying and screaming loudly, their voices heartbreaking.

Only a few remaining remains could be seen on the ground, faintly visible in the firelight.

Qin Shisheng yelled at the dumbfounded bodyguard beside him, "Call an ambulance!"

"Don't get near the car! We don't know if there are still bombs!" Qin Shisheng warned calmly and decisively.

At that moment, another car exploded, the sound of which was deafening.

I heard a ringing sound in my ears.

It made a buzzing sound.

He clutched his ears in pain, slumped to the ground, and his hands trembled uncontrollably.

Qin Shisheng was knocked to the ground by the shockwave, then he quickly got up and ran towards me.

They held me tightly in their arms, comforting me.

"Don't be afraid!" His voice was gentle yet firm.

In a daze, I looked up at the wreckage of the exploded car. It swayed precariously in the flames before finally turning into a pile of scrap metal and collapsing.

He picked me up tightly and walked into the ancestral hall, each step firm and steady.

They gently placed me beside the seat inside and touched my back to comfort me.

"Wait for me here, don't move around or run around~"
