Chapter 10: Rage
A middle-aged man in a dark purple robe strode into the study with an extraordinary bearing.
The tyrant called him "Yafu", so he was the regent with great power.
Shen Tingyu became more curious about him because the regent was the one who would betray the tyrant in the future.
He was a man of cunning judgment, a man of cunning tact, the last remaining fence-sitter who sided with the Eleventh Prince and overthrew the tyrant. Those who could secure the position of Regent as a king of a different surname were all ruthless.
Xin Hongying said gently, "Father, there's no need to be so polite."
Gao Tang slowly served a pot of hot tea.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." The Regent stood up with Xin Hongying supporting his hand.
He picked up the teacup offered, took a sip, and praised, "Good tea! Your Majesty's tea is more comfortable to drink."
He gently put down the teacup and casually said, "Your Majesty must have known why I came."
He had a worried look on his face, and his whole person looked a little vicissitudes of life. "Let me be frank. The crime committed by Concubine Yu is particularly serious. I have no children, only this adopted daughter, whom I raised with great difficulty."
"For my sake, Your Majesty, please spare Concubine Yu."
Understanding this, Xin Hongying's smile instantly faded, and she said calmly, "Father, there's no need to plead with her. The Dali Temple has already investigated the matter, and we have both witnesses and evidence. If I let her go easily, everyone in the harem will secretly follow her example."
The Regent said, "But the Dali Temple is not an ordinary place. She has already realized her mistake. Your Majesty grew up with her, so how could he not know that she..."
Bang!
Xin Hongying put down the teacup in her hand and interrupted him directly, her expression gradually colder, "I have made up my mind."
"If you are here just to plead for Concubine Yu, then please leave."
The Regent was slightly surprised. Unknowingly, the young emperor had secretly grown wings and even started to disobey him. For the first time, he felt out of control and thought he had miscalculated.
"His Majesty……!"
The Regent still refused to give up his persuasion, and the two eventually parted ways unhappily, neither of them staying for dinner. Shen Tingyu sat in the corner, openly eating melons.
As the book said, the tyrant regarded the regent as half his father, and the relationship between the two was like that of a subject and a father.
Xin Hongying touched the jade pendant tied around her waist with a slightly irritated look, her face clearly unhappy, and the air pressure around her dropped a few degrees. Shen Tingyu didn't intend to go out and offend anyone, so she quietly chatted with the system.
Shen Tingyu: "Xiao Qi, what happened to the tyrant? Why did he suddenly get angry? "
Human emotions are too complex for Xiao Qi to understand. Even the host doesn't know, let alone Xiao Qi.
Gao Tang asked, "Your Majesty, would you like to have dinner?"
Xin Hongying waved her hand, Gao Tang smiled slightly, and quickly instructed the palace servants to bring the food.
The palace maids served the food one after another, and the last eunuch brought a bowl of warm lotus seed soup.
Gao Tang saw it with his sharp eyes, thought to himself, "Oh no!", and gave the young eunuch a look.
Half of his body blocked the young eunuch, and he whispered angrily: "Who told you to bring this up? Take it away quickly."
Unfortunately, it was too late. Xin Hongying had already seen the bowl of lotus seed soup. He said slowly, "Wait, bring it up."
Gao Tang closed his eyes, and when he looked at the little eunuch again, his eyes had turned into pity.
Xin Hongying gently stirred the bowl of lotus seed soup with a spoon, snorted coldly, and slammed the spoon down heavily: "Father-in-law is really good at this. This bowl of lotus seed soup must have been made by Concubine Yu."
The spoon hit the table, bounced from the corner of the table onto the head of the little eunuch who was kneeling on the ground and huddled up with his head down, then fell on the ground covered with a thin blanket and rolled several times.
Xin Hongying pressed his fingers between his eyebrows, the veins in his hands popped up, his facial expression became ferocious, and he suddenly dropped the bowl of lotus seed soup to the ground.
He let out a low roar of anger.
He covered his head, as if enduring some unbearable pain. A few red bloodshot veins appeared in his eye sockets. His eyes suddenly became angry and he half fell on the stool.
He raised his leg and kicked the young eunuch who was kneeling on the ground, "Everyone else, get out of here!"
"Get out!"
The other palace servants who were kneeling on the ground rolled out as if they had been pardoned, except for the young eunuch who collapsed on the soft ground in despair.
When Xin Hongying stood up again, her eyes were red and the veins on her forehead were bulging, which were particularly obvious on her fair face.
He drew out the long sword hanging on the wall, his eyes filled with anger, and walked step by step towards the trembling eunuch who could not speak a word clearly.
"Your Majesty, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me, forgive me, forgive me."
"Don't, don't kill... me!"
Shen Tingyu's eyes suddenly widened. The young eunuch just served the wrong dish. He wouldn't be killed, would he?
A tall, tilted shadow slowly approached, and she subconsciously turned sideways to hide.
The next second, a shrill scream sounded, followed by the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground. Shen Tingyu trembled for a moment and turned his head to look.
With a swing of the long sword, the little eunuch's throat was immediately cut. Blood spurted out and continued to flow from his neck, instantly staining the thin blanket on the ground red.
Growing up under the red flag, she had never seen such a scene. The greatest bloody excitement in her life was watching the uncles and aunts in the supermarket killing fish with her own eyes.
The long sword was as sharp as a blade, reflecting the light, and the blood on the sword kept dripping down, with blood beads constantly forming.
The tyrant blinked his cold eyes slightly, raised his hand to wipe away the blood that splashed on his face, and scarlet bloodshot covered his eyes.
He took out a clean white handkerchief from his arms and slowly wiped the blood off his face. Unable to suppress the violence in his heart, he stepped on it. The spoon on the ground broke at the handle with a crisp sound of ceramic cracking.
Shen Tingyu was so scared that she didn't dare to go out. She complained madly to the system, feeling a little scared: "Xiao Qi, I think I came at the wrong time."
"A tyrant is indeed a tyrant. He will kill anyone who makes him unhappy."
"I actually thought he was kind of gentle last night. What gentleness? It was all my damn illusion."
Shen Tingyu shuddered, and then thought of something and said, "If he knew that I had seen him kill someone with his own hands, would he kill me too to silence me?"
[Host, this is ancient times, not modern times. He is the emperor, and there is no price to pay for killing. He will not silence the host~]
Shen Tingyu was not comforted, but felt her legs become even weaker!
[Don't be afraid, the system and the host share weal and woe, Xiaoqi will definitely protect you]
Gao Tang led the palace servants to skillfully clean up the messy scene. Shen Tingyu tried her best to hide herself so that no one would find her.
Gao Tang glanced at Xin Hongying with some concern, then spoke carefully. He said slowly, "Your Majesty, does your head still hurt? I'll go summon the imperial physician."
"I'm fine." Xin Hongying closed his eyes, his fingers continuously pressing on his solar plexus. The veins in his hands were throbbing. He waved his hand, "Everyone, go out. I need some quiet time alone."
He glanced at Gao Tang and said in a low voice, "You get out too."
"Yes." Gao Tang responded and left with a worried look on his face.
After everyone left, he sat down alone, frowning slightly, and wiped the sword in his hand with a handkerchief without saying a word.
The expression on his face was cold, and his complexion seemed to have suddenly become much worse. Coupled with the cruelty that had been suppressed in his eyes for many years, he looked a little haggard.
He seemed to be enduring great pain, trying his best to suppress his mania. He looked extremely divided, with ferocity and fragility merging into one at this moment.
He kept wiping it, even though the blood on the sword had been wiped clean long ago, he still kept wiping it, over and over again.
Finally, his fingers loosened, and the blood-stained handkerchief slipped from the sword and fell to the ground.
It landed accurately not far from Shen Tingyu’s side, and a cold gaze fell on the ground.
Shen Tingyu hugged his knees and huddled together, trying to shrink his body as much as possible. His whole body suddenly tensed up, ready to escape at any time.
Is he going to discover her?!
