Chapter 13: Boy with a Girlish Appearance
Ignoring some strange noises, Shen Tingyu climbed the stairs, like a breeze slowly coming from the snow-capped mountains. She nodded to the tyrant, bowed slightly and said, "I greet your majesty."
An extremely obscure eye contact, and an instant understanding.
The corners of Xin Hongying's mouth curled up slightly, and the secret feeling between the two of them was like a feather fluttering in her heart.
Shen Tingyu had an indifferent expression and walked neither humbly nor arrogantly. Even when he was in the Zhenghe Hall and met the emperor, his knees were still straight, which was simply a contempt for the emperor and a challenge to the imperial power.
The ministers looked at each other, observing the emperor on the high throne. A smile appeared on his usually cold face. Everyone was very familiar with this smile. It was the smile that His Majesty would smile when he saw a dying person.
She's dead!
Everyone was puzzled by her disrespectful behavior and frowned slightly.
Where did this crazy woman who doesn't care about her own life come from? Everyone thought to themselves, she simply doesn't know whether she lives or dies. When she dies, don't let her blood splash on me.
Even Gao Tang, who was standing by the throne waiting on her, couldn't help but sweat for her. "My little ancestor! What kind of place is this... Zhenghe Hall? Even if she's being spoiled, she should consider the occasion. What if His Majesty gets angry..."
“Bold!”
A minister in scarlet clothes shouted with great force, his beard blowing in the wind, and stood up, angrily scolding her: "How dare you not kneel before the emperor?"
"Kneel down quickly."
Shen Tingyu glanced at him with an indifferent look, "I have achieved semi-immortality and have already left the mortal body. I only kneel before heaven and earth. The tedious formalities of the mortal world are useless to me. Your Majesty is not angry, but you are angry for your Majesty first."
The more times you lie, the thicker your skin becomes. You can say anything outrageous and sound very confident, as if it were true.
"Half-immortal... you." The bearded minister snorted coldly and glared at him angrily: "How dare you speak nonsense."
"No problem, I allow the Imperial Master not to kneel before the Emperor."
As soon as the tyrant said this, the hall was finally in an uproar. What an honor it was to meet the emperor without kneeling.
The officials standing side by side looked at each other in confusion, their frowns so tight that they could kill a fly. They couldn't understand the deeper meaning of His Majesty's move, but they didn't want to be the first to make a scene.
Countless eyes were focused on her, some were suspicious looks, some were sticky malice, but Shen Tingyu ignored them. She was not a pushover.
Back then, because she beat up the teacher of a lewd classmate, she was forced to read the insulting letter of apology in front of all the students in the school, and received no less malicious looks than this.
Xin Hongying didn't care whether she knelt or not, but was rather curious as to why she had suddenly come to the main hall. His eyes flickered slightly, "Grandmaster, why did you suddenly come to the court?"
Shen Tingyu's sight fell on a dusty soldier. He looked a little disheveled in his armor, and was extremely conspicuous among the ministers in the court.
She approached the exhausted soldier step by step and said in a cold voice in the hall: "I have observed the celestial phenomena and predicted the will of heaven. I have calculated that the Hantian Dynasty will face a disaster today, so I have come to help."
"The soldier who delivered the letter is an imposter. General Luo's life is in danger, and the border is unstable."
"What!"
The faces of the ministers in the hall suddenly changed, their hearts sank, and they all took a breath of cold air. If what she said was true, then the border...!
The light in the Regent’s eyes changed slightly, and he looked at Shen Tingyu for a second longer, memorizing her appearance in his heart.
The soldier's expression changed slightly. He quickly bowed his head and knelt respectfully on the ground, proclaiming his loyalty. "This letter was written by General Luo himself and handed to me. The handwriting on it is genuine. Your Majesty, please examine it carefully."
The Regent turned sideways and glanced at a minister.
The red-robed minister with the rough voice jumped out again, "As you said, do you have evidence? This palace is not a place for you women to make empty claims."
Chen Tingyu looked up, meeting Xin Hongying's eyes full of amusement, and said firmly: "I have no evidence. As the national teacher, observing the celestial phenomena is my duty. If the celestial phenomena are true, what I say is the evidence."
The red-robed minister received the look and was displeased because Shen Tingyu had confronted him before, and he was convinced that she must not have any real ability.
"You two each hold different opinions. The messenger has General Luo's handwriting as proof. Imperial Master, please demonstrate your true abilities and convince us."
Xin Hongying jokingly said, "I believe in the Imperial Master's abilities, but the ministers don't. Why don't you show me something?"
Although Shen Tingyu had no evidence, she bet that the tyrant would believe her and stand on her side, but she didn't expect that Xin Hongying just wanted to watch the show.
She was suddenly put on the stand, and everyone was waiting to see her show. If she didn't show her true ability, she would be torn to pieces by them with every word.
Shen Tingyu knew the danger of her rashly rushing to the court, but she still wanted to save the Northern Border Army to comfort the tears she shed for General Luo and his soldiers defending the border city to the death.
"Whatever."
She gathered herself, looked at the relentless minister in red, and slowly asked, "What is your position? What is your name? I can use my magical powers to tell you a fortune."
The minister swung his sleeves and sneered, "I am Feng Ruonan, the Minister of Rites."
"National Master, let's count it!"
The corners of Shen Tingyu's lips curled up slightly, and she thought to herself, "I didn't expect him to come to her on his own. She's safe."
She circled around him, snapping her fingers constantly, and in a place where the tyrant and his ministers could not see, she rolled her eyes elegantly at him and mouthed the words: "fool", "pervert".
Feng Ruonan was stunned. After seeing what she was saying, he became angry: "You..." After realizing something, he suppressed his anger, sneered, and murderous intent was hidden in his eyes.
"What has the Imperial Master figured out?" Xin Hongying asked impatiently.
Shen Tingyu stopped pinching his fingers, stood still and nodded, and a cold voice rang out: "Your Majesty, I have figured it out. The hexagram shows four words..."
She deliberately kept it a secret, paused slightly, and looked at Feng Ruonan beside her.
Those sharp, cold eyes seemed to see through him. Feng Ruonan felt a sense of unease. He asked nervously, "Which four words?"
The curiosity of the ministers was piqued. They looked at the two of them strangely, quietly waiting for her answer.
Shen Tingyu's face showed a slight look of disgust, and he uttered four words word by word: "Boy with a girly look!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the ministers burst into laughter, and unpleasant noises continued to come.
"The Imperial Master's divination is not accurate at all."
"Lord Feng has a rugged and masculine appearance, not some playboy. How could he look feminine?"
"What kind of imperial tutor is this? He's probably just some country swindler! He's so bold that he even dared to deceive His Majesty."
"You're really asking for your life..."
"Hahaha... I'm afraid only her face is real!"
Feng Ruonan also followed suit, pulling up the corners of his mouth, with a forced smile, but there was no smile in his eyes, and even a slight fear, and his body leaned back and tightened unnaturally.
“Bold!”
The laughter in the room stopped abruptly.
The Regent suddenly spoke out, "She actually made such outrageous remarks and attempted to dictate the course of battle. She deserves death. Come, arrest this woman immediately!"
