"Okay!" Li Jia agreed and went into the bathroom. After a quick shower, she came out wearing only a pair of shorts and sat down next to Meng Yao. The TV was showing Pierce Brosnan's version of 007: The Choice to Die Again.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you resting so late? Are you waiting for me?" Li Jia dried her slightly messy hair, which she had just washed, and looked at Meng Yao's eyes, which were focused on watching TV.
"Well, I just wanted to sit with you for a while and watch a movie. That's all." Meng Yao finished speaking and continued watching TV until the movie ended. Then, she turned to Li Feng and smiled, "Okay, the movie's over. You can go rest now. Goodnight!" After saying that, she got up and gracefully walked into her bedroom, leaving Li Feng alone. He said "Goodnight" in a daze and stared at the end credits on TV for a long time.
"Go to sleep! Tomorrow is a very important day! I must be well-rested!" Li Jia said to herself, got up, turned off the TV, and went back to her room to sleep soundly.
June 6th marked the day when high school seniors across the country headed to their exams. Early that morning, Li Feng arrived at Li Xiaotong's house to help check the necessary items. Li Xiaotong was assigned to the seventh examination room at No. 14 Middle School in City B. Two girls from her class were with her. The exam was scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., but by 9:00 a.m., the area in front of No. 14 Middle School was already packed with people. Countless parents were taking good care of their children, hoping that their children would perform exceptionally well in the exam and get into a prestigious university to bring honor to their families.
Li Jia parked the car some distance away, helped Li Xiaotong carry her bag, and walked towards the entrance of No. 14 Middle School. "Relax! Teacher Hai said you'll be fine!
