Chapter 120 Assassins Appear

As soon as Li Jia spoke, a splash of mud and sand rose from Meng Yao's feet. Meng Yao screamed, covered her head, and ran a few steps to the car. Li Jia squatted behind the car, opened the back door, and let Meng Yao climb in. Then, looking towards the distant sea, she saw two people holding black hands with silencers, walking towards where Li Jia and Meng Yao were.

"Lie down in the back and don't look up." After saying this, Li Jia immediately opened the car door and started the car. Once inside, a smile appeared on Li Jia's lips. Not far behind the two armed assassins, a black Honda minivan was parked. Obviously, after seeing Li Jia's car start, the Honda also started and chased after Li Jia's Passat.

The smile on Li Jia's lips made the two assassins somewhat relieved. Li Jia wasn't driving in another direction, but rushing towards them. Inside the car, the seemingly refined man still had a faint smile on his face. "Is he crazy?" The two men exchanged glances, their eyes conveying the same message.

Seeing the two of them raise their hands at the same time, Li Jia's smile widened, and she suddenly slammed on the accelerator! The Passat accelerated abruptly, and the mud and sand splashing from under the wheels created a sandstorm in front of the two men, who instinctively covered their eyes with their hands.

Li Jia's car had already reached the two men from the side. With a bang, the two men were sent flying into the sea by Li Jia's car. A splash of water erupted, and the hands in their hands were nowhere to be seen. Li Jia stopped the car, looked at the two assassins who were climbing out of the water and looking around for their hands, and then started the car and drove towards the Honda minivan that was driving towards him in the distance.

The two cars were about 200 meters apart. Meng Yao, who had almost bumped into the car door because of the swaying earlier, had just adjusted her posture, reached out and grabbed the door handle, and sat in the back seat.

"Sit tight!" Li Jia whispered to Meng Yao in the rearview mirror, her driving movements quick and powerful. She gripped the steering wheel tightly, her eyes fixed on the Honda speeding towards her, calculating the distance between the two cars and their next route.

One hundred meters, eighty meters, fifty meters… just twenty meters to go! Li Jia jerked the steering wheel sharply, the Honda narrowly missing him. Sweat poured down the Honda driver's forehead; the two cars had almost collided. His limbs felt numb, and for a fleeting moment, he imagined a fatal crash. The despair he felt made his heart pound, almost suffocating. After all, he was just a driver, not a hitman. If he hadn't taken a large sum of money from his boss, he wouldn't have come all this way with those two.

The car stopped a short distance away, panting heavily, until the two men got into the car and took out two more spare Type 54 pistols from the trunk. Only then did the Honda start again and chase after the Passat. This time, the driver stayed by the sea. He was there to monitor the situation, not to die. It was better to leave murder to the professionals.

Li Jia looked at the Honda in the rearview mirror, a smile never fading from his lips. Those who knew Li Jia well knew that this was a sign that he was about to get angry; the wider he smiled in this situation, the more terrifying his temper would be.

Reaching into the car ashtray, Li Jia pulled out a small, matchbox-sized object—a pre-made plastic bullet that she had deliberately placed in the car. Holding the bullet in her hand, Li Jia slowed down. Within five minutes of entering the outer ring expressway, the distance between the Honda and the Passat had shrunk to twenty meters.

The Passat slowed down, and as it passed the East Outer Ring Road, Li Jia opened the window and threw a thin white object onto the ground. The twenty-meter distance was covered in the blink of an eye, and the white object stuck precisely to the wheel of the Honda.

Li Jia smiled and took out a black plastic box about the size of a matchbox. The red button on it made Meng Yao suddenly understand something. Li Jia smiled and gently pressed the red button. About fifty grams of plastic pellets on the Honda's wheel exploded instantly.

The car, which was traveling at high speed, was suddenly blown apart by an explosion, destroying its front wheels and the engine above them. The Honda screeched to a halt, then rolled over on the side of the highway, smoking. The car was destroyed, and the two bodies inside, their hands still clasped tightly, were unrecognizable. A considerable distance after the Passat had driven away, the Honda exploded again. This time, the already smoking car was completely engulfed in flames. By the time the flames subsided, Li Jia had already returned to the dry cleaners, taken a shower, and was calmly chatting with Meng Yao on the sofa.

"Do you have a lot to say?" Li Jia knew that Meng Yao would definitely have a lot to ask about today's events, but Meng Yao just shook her head slightly, then sat quietly on the sofa with Li Jia in her arms. After a long while, she said to Li Jia in a low voice, "I never thought he would do such a thing. It's ridiculous that I still held onto a sliver of hope."

Meng Yao's words made Li Jia nod slightly. "I knew this wasn't as simple as I thought. Turns out there was a backup plan. Luckily, I got back in time. I'll handle this. You should rest at home. It's safe here now, okay?" After saying that, Li Jia looked at Zhou Xiaoyu, who was peeking out from the bedroom doorway. "Come out. Were you scared by what happened today?"

“Brother Li, it’s alright. I’m more worried about Sister Mengyao. Yesterday, Chen Yi’s father came to our house and took her back. Sister Mengyao and I couldn’t stop him. This morning, Sister Mengyao was taken away by someone. I’m so angry. If only I were as powerful as 007, I would definitely put those bastards in jail!” Zhou Xiaoyu said, sitting next to the two men, her magnificent chest heaving.
