Li Jia stayed overnight at a hotel in City C and took the train back to City B the next morning. The day after Li Jia returned to City B, the TV news repeatedly broadcast the news of Wu Xinfei, the owner of Qianshi Club in City M, committing suicide. In his suicide note, he stated that he would leave all his assets to his ex-wife Meng Yao, an act that earned him the reputation of a good man.
Upon seeing the news of Wu Xinfei's suicide on TV, Meng Yao's eyes were fixed on Li Jia, who was drinking morning tea and watching the news. "He's dead? You knew, right? It has nothing to do with you, does it?"
"Hehe, what does that have to do with me? I was sleeping soundly at home when he died. You don't think I have the ability to be in two places at once, do you?" Li Jia smiled, put down her teacup, and handed the newspaper to Meng Yao.
"Uh, I don't know, but something just feels off. He's dead, and the statement in his suicide note couldn't possibly be something a person like him would write." Meng Yao looked at the newspaper report, carefully read through the contents of Wu Xinfei's suicide note published in the newspaper, and said with certainty.
"Don't think about these things anymore. The lawyer is probably looking for you everywhere right now. Get ready and go back to M City. There's a lot of follow-up work that you'll need to handle," Li Jia said to Meng Yao with a smile.
Meng Yao didn't reply. Instead, she stared blankly at the newspaper report for a while before getting up, taking the newspaper, and going upstairs. Clearly, she was still having trouble accepting the matter.
Li Jia watched as Meng Yao silently walked upstairs, then casually picked up the tea on the table and took a small sip.
Just as Meng Yao was about to leave the store for a walk, two tall, imposing foreigners entered. They immediately saw Li Jia sitting in the lounge area. They walked up to Li Jia and greeted him with fluent Mandarin. Li Jia was somewhat surprised, and nodded to the two unfamiliar foreigners. "Yes, I am. Is there something you need?"
"Our boss wants to see you, but he's not feeling well and has some difficulty moving around. So we'll have to ask Mr. Li to come with us." Seeing Li Jia's questioning expression, the man quickly explained, and then took out a custom-made Vacheron Constantin watch. In the morning sunlight, a triangular logo—three narrow, serrated leaves connected end to end—was clearly visible on the inner case surface under the sunlight.
"Hehe. Is this old Bolon?" Li Jia asked casually, looking at the watch and logo the newcomer displayed.
"You'll see when you get there, please." After saying that, the man stepped aside to let Li Jia go first. "Hehe, since I'm here, I'll go take a look." Li Jia smiled, got up, took a pair of colorful jade balls, and followed the two foreign men out of the dry cleaner.
The Lincoln quickly took Li Jia to the seaside resort hotel. With its blue ocean ambiance, it was the only hotel in City B built right on the beach, exuding high-class luxury. The price was considerable. Two foreigners led Li Jia to the door of the hotel's presidential suite and then gently knocked.
"Come in." The voice from inside was in Spanish. Hearing the aged voice, Li Jia confirmed the person's identity, pushed open the door, and went inside.
“G. It really is you. My friend, I’m so glad you’re still alive.” Inside the room was an elderly Black man. He had a bald head, wore a loose-fitting plaid pajama set, and his dark face showed a hint of surprise. Upon seeing Li Jia enter, he immediately went up to her and gave her a warm hug, repeatedly saying how happy he was that she was still alive.
“Old Bolun, I told you we would meet again, so I will live.” Li Jia’s words were brief. After hugging her old friend, she sat on the large sofa in the room, holding the stone ball she had bought in M City, and slid it around in her hand a few times as if it were a steel ball.
“Not long ago, a kid said he saw my clover logo in China. If he hadn’t actually drawn it out for me, I would have thrown him into the lake to feed the fish. There are only two unnumbered clover logos in the world, one is with me, and the other is with you. So I thought of you. After his description, I even had the urge to fly to China right then and there.” Old Boren put his watch on his wrist and showed it to Li Jia.
"Hehe, yes, I only remembered this by chance. I didn't expect you to have such a big reputation. I doubt anyone in Spain doesn't know that you only have six clover pieces, but I'm afraid no one but yourself knows exactly who has them. I don't even know myself. Whether it was right or wrong for me to come to see you is not the right thing to do. But since I'm here, I'll repay the favor I owe you. Tell me, what do you want me to do for you?" Li Jia looked at Old Bolun's face and said slowly.
“G, I came here to see you to see if you’re really alive. As for that favor, I won’t let you pay it back so easily. I’m probably the only one in the world who can make the famous G owe me a favor. So, I want to preserve this honor. If one day I really have to come to you, it means my days are numbered… Alright, today it’s been confirmed that you’re still alive, so I think I can leave now. I know your rules; no one else but me will know you’re here. However, Misha seems to have disappeared not long after you. Do you want me to help you find out where she is?” Old Bolon said to Li Jia with a smile, holding a glass of champagne.
"No need, I'm in a good state right now, you understand what I mean, right?" A cold glint flashed in Li Jia's eyes, but the smile on her face immediately reappeared. She picked up the champagne that Old Bolun had prepared for her and gently clinked it with his glass.
