"Li! You're right on time!" Tina arrived at the hotel entrance, her gaze sweeping over the Passat next to Li Jia before finally settling on Li Jia's face as she spoke.
“As always, please.” Li Jia said, opening the car door and placing one hand on the top edge of the door frame to prevent people from bumping their heads while getting in. She let Tina and another woman who hadn’t spoken to her before into the car, then gently closed the door, turned and got into the driver’s seat. “Deyuelou, the most authentic and traditional Chinese cuisine,” she said softly, starting the car and driving away from the hotel.
In the private room of Deyuelou Restaurant, Li Jia finally heard the first words spoken by the woman who had been silent all along: "The food is excellent! It's just as good as Japanese specialties."
A typical Tokyo vibe, the Japanese woman put down her chopsticks and gave Li Jia a slight nod, a formal greeting. Then she continued to pick up her chopsticks and taste the dishes on the table, albeit somewhat awkwardly. Tina, sitting next to her, glanced at her with a slightly surprised expression. "Koyama Masari, you actually spoke? Hehe, now we have some gossip to brag about!"
Li Jia was puzzled by Tina's strange behavior, but Tina's explanation made him understand the reason immediately. It turned out that Xiaoshan Yali was a senior staff member of the headquarters' health department. In the headquarters, she would never speak to people she didn't know, even if you were the president or a general.
Moreover, Koyama Masari has a severe case of mysophobia and feels uncomfortable when she is near men. Therefore, she has a separate office space at the headquarters, and almost no men approach her. Even if they do, they either leave the headquarters or resign shortly after getting close to her. As a result, Koyama Masari has become one of the iconic figures at the headquarters of the Comfort Dry Cleaning International chain.
Li Jia was the first person to prompt her to speak, even if the content of her conversation had nothing to do with Li Jia. This was enough to satisfy Tina's gossipy nature.
After dinner, Li Jia escorted the two women back to their hotel. She then prepared to visit Tianxiang Garden, where her three younger siblings had already returned home. In a few days, Li Xiaotong would be starting school in M City. Before the start of the semester at her own school, Li Jia decided to take Li Xiaotong to the art academy in M City to register. This way, she could familiarize herself with the school environment beforehand, and she could also spend a day or two in M City before the semester began.
Driving to Tianxiang Garden, Li Xiaoqing and her two siblings were playing cards at home. As soon as Li Feng entered the house, he immediately joined in and started playing with his three younger siblings.
At 9:30 p.m., just as Li Jia was having a great time playing with her younger siblings, her phone rang. She glanced at the number; it was Hai Mingyue. Li Jia picked up the phone and answered, "What is it?"
"Someone's trying to pick me up. Need a shield. Got some time?" As soon as Hai Mingyue finished speaking, Li Jia tossed the playing cards aside. "You guys keep playing, but get some rest." After saying that, she put on her coat and went out. "Where? Tea Art Alley? Where's the Beast Girl? Okay, I'll be right there." After hanging up the phone, Li Jia started the car and left Tianxiang Garden, heading straight for Zhongzhou Road.
In front of Qingyi Tea House, two extremely flashy Ferraris were parked, their colors strikingly similar. Their fiery red bodies flaunted their luxury under the lights. Li Jia parked her car on one side of the entrance to Qingyi Tea House, got out, locked the car door, and stepped into the tea house.
"Finally here. You two should give up now, right? This is Li Jia, the protector of Mingyue! Young Master Zhang, you already know her, but you don't seem to know this Mr. Mister. Let me introduce you, Mr. Mister. This is Li Jia, the protector of Mingyue. Li Jia, this is Mr. Mister." Bai Zirou wasn't in the shop today. Only Wang Yuying was left, which is why Young Master Zhang Xiaogang dared to linger. And the handsome foreigner next to him, if Li Jia wasn't mistaken, was Italian.
“Hello, Mr. Silly.” Li Jia generously extended her hand as she saw Wang Yuying almost laughing. “Hello! I am Mr. Silly, from Italy. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” The two hands clasped together warmly for a long time, but Li Jia’s unwavering smile eventually made Mr. Silly release his hand with an ugly expression, leaving a row of clearly visible bruises on his hand.
"Young Master Zhang, I think I see Zi Rou has returned. Are you still going to wait for Ming Yue to come out?" Wang Yuying, still dressed in extremely tattered clothes, stared at Zhang Xiaogang, who was smiling to the side, and said slowly with a smile.
"Huh? Hmph! I don't believe you. My cousin went home to celebrate my uncle's birthday today, how could she be back?" Just as Zhang Xiaogang finished speaking, the door of the teahouse was pushed open, and Bai Zirou, dressed in a long dress, walked in with light steps. "The birthday is over, so I came back. It seems some spendthrift wrecked a Porsche and then bought a Ferrari. Is that car in front yours? Well done! You've gotten quite capable! You know how to call for help. Two Ferraris are parked in front of my door. Looks like I'm going to make some money today."
Bai Zirou's voice was like a spell, causing the once arrogant Zhang Xiaogang to immediately shrink back and slip away without saying a word. He drove off in his car and sped away from Qingyi Tea Heart. The remaining Mr. Mister glanced at Bai Zirou and shook his head, "Still a bit lacking."
"Hehe, sir, are you waiting for someone here? My teahouse has a minimum charge, you know?" Bai Zirou walked gracefully up to Mr. Mister and said softly.
"Hehe, I have money. Here's a thousand yuan, that should be enough for the minimum charge. I just want to make friends with Ms. Mingyue, that's all. Please forgive me, beautiful lady, could you please ask her to come out for a moment?" Clearly, this Mr. Mister had put in a lot of effort, actually managing to speak a broken sentence in Chinese. After speaking, he took out a stack of RMB from his pocket and placed it on the table, staring at Bai Zirou with a faint smile.
