"Old Stone, this time we're really in big trouble. Heh, it seems that young man's identity is not simple. I hope Xiao Chuan can find out the truth." Jiang Songbai put down the envelope that the servant had just retrieved from outside and said with some emotion.
"Old man, what's this?" The old man sitting on the other side of the sofa took the envelope from Jiang Songbai's hand, tore it open without any politeness, and took out a purple card with a ferocious-looking black mole on it.
Jiang Songbai raised his wrist to check the time; it was exactly eight o'clock. He recalled Li Jia's words once again: "If nothing unexpected happens, you will receive another card within twelve hours. At that time, things will really be in big trouble."
"Hyena? Mole?" The old man in military uniform said in a low voice after taking the card. Clearly, he knew the connection between hyenas and moles. Putting down the card, he looked at Jiang Songbai. "Old blockhead, it seems you're really in big trouble. Luckily, I brought some men with me. Don't worry about that for now, let's have a drink, brothers. Leave the matter to Xiao San and the others." After saying that, the old man picked up his wine glass from the coffee table. The young man behind him had already left the villa with the card, along with three of his eight bodyguards.
“Let’s drink. I don’t believe it. If even an old stone like you can’t handle this, then there’s nowhere in this world that can. Hehe.” Jiang Songbai seemed to have complete confidence in the old man, so he temporarily put the matter aside and started drinking with him.
After leaving, Li Jia sent Jiang Ling a text message with only two words: "Good luck!" Li Jia didn't say anything more. "Since someone really wants to compete with that mangy dog, let him be." He drove away from the heavily guarded villa. The Barrett M82A1 sniper rifle lens on the rooftop in the distance followed Li Jia's car until it disappeared. Only then did the eye behind the crosshairs give up tracking and turn its attention to the area around the villa.
At that moment, Jiang Ling was chatting with her mother. She didn't pay much attention to the text message from Li Jia, because she knew how prominent and influential her grandfather's old friend was. With him here, there was no need to worry about those things.
Jiang Ling's prediction seemed to be entirely correct. Within twenty-four hours of receiving the third card, the mole seemed to have lost interest and showed no signs of contact. Meanwhile, Jiang Songbai's company continued to operate normally, with no new technologies being exported.
"It seems this mole isn't as difficult as the legends say. Hopefully, this matter can be put behind us." Although the old man in military uniform spoke lightly, the worry in his eyes could not be hidden from Jiang Songbai.
"Report! Situation detected. Someone has entered the Songbai Company's confidential archives center. When we found them, they had already begun to flee. Please provide instructions!" A bodyguard who had been on guard outside walked in and reported to the elderly man in military uniform.
"Pursue! We must bring that bastard back to me!" The old man in military uniform shouted the order, while the other four men, led by Xiao San, quickly chased after the fleeing figure.
Jiang Songbai glanced at the old man he called Old Stone. "I didn't expect they would actually dare to come again. Let's go, let's go to the company and see. I'm also very interested in seeing just how the legendary mole is so ubiquitous."
After speaking, the two elderly men stood up. Accompanied by six bodyguards, they left the villa, got into two cars, one after the other, and drove straight to the Songbai Building.
It's 8:30 PM. Aside from the security guards on duty every day, everyone else at the Songbai Building has already left. Xiao San, leading three others who are part of the building's security team, was patrolling the confidential archives center when he sensed someone inside. However, there were no visible signs from the outside. The subtle noises inside prompted this seasoned veteran to immediately go in and investigate.
Upon entering, he saw a dark figure jump out of the open window. By the time he reached the window, the figure had already landed on the ground. He immediately took out his walkie-talkie and notified the two men on patrol on the first floor who had come with him. He then quickly reported to the elderly man in military uniform. Upon receiving the message, the two soldiers on the first floor rushed out of the building, keeping a close watch on the dark figure and giving chase.
After a ten-minute chase, the distance was finally reduced to within twenty meters on a street ahead. The dark figure knew he was being pursued, and when he escaped into a secluded alley, he suddenly stopped, turned around, and stared at the two pursuers with a cold smile. "Tired, aren't you?" The dark figure's words startled the two soldiers who had come up to him, and their anger flared up again. "Attack!"
As soldiers, they knew they had to complete the mission assigned by their leader. So when the shadowy figure stopped, they immediately attacked. The two of them suddenly pounced on the shadowy figure, who seemed to have been prepared. He slung the cloth bag he was carrying behind his back and then swung his fists at the two soldiers.
The two warriors' attacks were incredibly fierce. The shadowy figure only managed to parry their first wave of attacks before one of the warriors kicked him in the abdomen. The figure groaned and lowered his head, while the two warriors quickly subdued him and ripped the cloth bag off his back.
The ending was unexpected. The shadowy figure turned out to be an easy target, and was subdued by the two soldiers in just a few moves. At the same time, Xiao San and another soldier arrived at the scene, along with several security guards from the building. They all rushed to the two soldiers who had arrived earlier, panting.
"Third Brother, we have fulfilled our mission." The two warriors in black stood at attention and said to Xiao San.
