A week later, on a ship bound for Rome, Italy, Emily sat in her room, holding the jade gourd pendant around her neck, recalling the explosion seven days earlier…
When the explosion stopped, Li Jiu'ai's back was covered in bright red blood from the flying stones, while he himself was unharmed in his arms, even Angel had suffered considerable external injuries.
"Emily, are you alright?" Li Jia's smile remained unchanged, as if the injury on her back wasn't even on her own body; her thoughts were entirely focused on Emily.
"I...I'm fine, Brother Li...how are you?" Emily looked at herself, still shaken, and answered haltingly.
"What's this?" As Emily spoke, she noticed the emerald green jade gourd pendant around Li Jia's neck and immediately focused all her attention on it. Just as she reached out to take it in her hand to examine it more closely, Angel spoke up expressionlessly from the side, "Master, we'd better leave here first!"
"Okay! Let's get out of here first!" Li Jia said, pulling Emily up and running quickly away. Ten minutes later, a dozen or so police officers from the island arrived at the scene. When they saw the sight before them, they were immediately thrown into chaos...
"Miss, it's time for dinner." The voice from outside the door interrupted Emily's reverie. She straightened her clothes and replied softly, "Okay, I'll be right out."
Emily glanced at the sea outside the window, then looked at the jade gourd pendant on her lips once more. She took a few deep breaths, put on a slightly stiff smile, and then got up, pushed open the door, and went out.
The restaurant on the second floor was already quite crowded. Six expressionless men stood around a seat near the window; it was one of the better seats in the restaurant. "Uncle Liang, let them leave. It's just a meal, no need for such formalities."
Emily glanced at the people around the table, waved wearily, and spoke to a burly middle-aged man beside her.
"Yes, Miss, you may all disperse." Uncle Liang waved his hand, instructing the people standing there to disperse and sit down, while he himself stayed close to Emily. "Li Jia, help me investigate what happened to Xiaoyue. I'll be there soon." In a small clinic in Fukuoka, Li Jia, with Angel's help, finished treating the wound on her back. Thinking about what Emily had said, she still felt uneasy, so she instructed Angel to go to Italy immediately to investigate whether what Emily had told her was true and whether she hadn't hidden anything.
"Yes, Master, what should we do with that Japanese guy inside?" Angel pointed to the doctor who was tied up in the inner room.
"Whatever you want! I'm leaving now, remember what I said." Li Jia finished speaking, put on her newly bought tracksuit and the Adidas basketball shoes Angel had just bought for her, and then left the small clinic… We'll arrive in Busan, disembark there, and then take a plane back to Florence. Everything is ready.” Uncle Liang, standing to the side, checked the time and then whispered to Emily, who had finished her meal.
"Okay, Uncle Liang, I really want to know what exactly happened. Could you explain it to me more clearly?" After Emily finished speaking, she stood up and walked towards the deck of the ship. Uncle Liang followed behind her, pondered for a moment, and then slowly began to speak.
"The main reason for this is that the Dragon Dance Party's power has begun to threaten the status of the Florentine Caman family. Those notorious culprits are capable of anything. This assassination attempt on the Dragon King and the young lady was clearly meticulously planned."
"If the Dragon King were truly dead, the Dragon Dance Party would be leaderless. As the Dragon King's only daughter, Miss would likely be thrust into the position of heir to the Dragon Dance Party—a tradition and rule of the party. If they succeeded, the Dragon Dance Party's status and safety would be severely threatened. Fortunately, Miss is alright, and the Dragon King… also survived in the hospital." Uncle Liang organized his thoughts and slowly revealed his ideas.
"Hmph! Dassler. That fat pig, Kaman, is really going too far!" Emily cursed angrily after hearing Uncle Liang's words, but in her heart, she thought of Li Feng, who claimed to be her older brother, and how he had risked his life to save her several times just because she also had a pendant that was exactly the same as the one he wore around his neck. "Could it be that he mistook me for someone else?"
"The first person the Dragon King wanted to see when he woke up was you, so we rushed over immediately after receiving your message. Thankfully, Miss is safe and sound," Uncle Liang said with a relieved expression, looking at the deep blue sea in the distance.
"Safe and sound? I hope I'm really safe and sound! Someone saved my life three times. Without him, I think I would be dead by now!" Emily's mind kept replaying Li Jia's words to her. She couldn't help but see Li Jia's smiling face and hear his words, "I'm your older brother! Your older brother!" which kept assaulting her senses.
“Uncle Liang… I…” Emily turned around and looked at Uncle Liang standing beside her, then hesitated.
"What is it, Miss?" Uncle Liang looked at Emily with deep affection in his eyes.
"N-nothing, I'm tired and want to go back to rest. Call me when you get there!" Emily hesitated for a moment, then walked back to her room with a complicated expression. She sat down, took out the green jade gourd pendant around her neck, and put it in front of her eyes, falling into deep thought once again.
In Busan, South Korea, the ship docked at the port, and a convoy of Cadillacs was parked on the shore. Emily, under the protection of Uncle Liang and six others, disembarked and got into a black extended Cadillac.
