Chapter 214 Find a Girl

The next day, he visited his uncle's house for the New Year, and the most frequent topic of conversation was urging Li Jia to find a girl, which made Li Jia feel awkward. Just then, Hai Mingyue called...

The first thing he did upon returning to City B was head straight to Tea Art Alley. Hai Mingyue had told him on the phone that as soon as he came back, he should go directly to the tea house to find her, and she would be waiting for him there.

The sight of several luxury sports cars parked in front of the teahouse made Li Jia frown slightly. After parking her car, she pushed open the door and walked into the teahouse. "Where is Mingyue?"

As soon as Li Jia entered the teahouse, she asked, "What did you do to Mingyue?" The two beauties in cheongsams, Bai Zirou and Wang Yuying, whom she hadn't seen for many days, immediately came out of their resting room and glared at Li Jia with unfriendly expressions.

Faced with their questions, Li Jia was a little confused. "What did I do to her? No? Where is she?" Li Jia's answer did not satisfy Bai Zirou and Wang Yuying, but Hai Mingyue's voice from behind her came to Li Jia's rescue.

"Zi Rou, Yu Ying, it's none of his business, let him in." Hai Mingyue's voice sounded very tired, and Li Jia walked into the room as Hai Mingyue's voice rang out.

"Mingyue, what happened?" Li Jia couldn't help but feel a pang of concern when she saw Hai Mingyue's slightly tired face. Her heartfelt concern made Hai Mingyue's expression look much better.

Hai Mingyue didn't speak, but instead took out the crescent-shaped pendant that Li Jia had given her. The pendant was broken in two, and the green crescent was now lying quietly in Hai Mingyue's palm. "What happened?"

Li Jia knew something must have happened, so she took the two halves of the crescent pendant, looked at them, and then asked.

“That’s not important anymore. I’m in a hurry to see you because I want to know your answer. Do you remember what you said to me before you left?” Hai Mingyue said this, and Bai Zirou and Wang Yuying, who were standing at the door, tactfully withdrew and closed the door behind them. Inside, only Li Jia and Hai Mingyue remained. A subtle atmosphere quickly filled the space. Under Hai Mingyue’s expectant gaze, Li Jia nodded. “I said it. If I come back alive, I will personally return those words to you… Mingyue. I love you!”

After a pause, Li Jia finally uttered the "I love you" that Hai Mingyue had been waiting for. At that moment, chaos erupted in the room next door. Just as Li Jia and Hai Mingyue were about to begin their kiss, the door to the next room opened, revealing several foreigners with grim expressions. Standing at the outermost edge of the group was Hai Mingyue's older brother.

"Mingyue, is he the reason you've always refused to date me? Haven't you always admired heroes? Is this the hero in your heart?" The blond, handsome man at the head of the group was tall and imposing. However, the fierce aura between his brows was so heavy that it made his otherwise not-so-unpleasant face look hideous.

Hai Mingyue nodded slightly. Her persistence hadn't been in vain; she had finally heard Li Jia's words. The man before her was someone she had met during her trip to the United States over the Chinese New Year, arranged by her older brother. Unexpectedly, this man harbored ill intentions towards Hai Mingyue, trying to arrange a hotel room meeting the very next day. When Hai Mingyue's older brother found out, he didn't say anything more. The man was her brother's boss. After her attempts to dissuade him failed, Hai Mingyue had no choice but to explain that she already had a boyfriend. Finally, she returned to City B and waited for Li Jia's answer. Fortunately, Li Jia did not disappoint her.

“That’s right. My hero is Jia. Now you can give up, right?” Hai Mingyue nestled in Li Jia’s arms, all the weariness on her face gone, and her voice became more confident.

However, Hai Mingyue's words clearly did not dissuade Horton Charles, who had traveled a long way: "In Diamond, who doesn't know the name Black Wolf? Among all the bodyguards, my mission completion rate is top-notch. I'm also the one who has killed the most intruders!"

After mentally assessing his own performance, Horton Charles stared at Li Jia's faintly smiling face and said, "I challenge you to a duel! In a manly way!"

Standing at the back of the crowd, Hai Mingyue's older brother watched his little sister's happy expression. He couldn't help but regret bringing her to meet his captain, Horton Charles. As for the man beside his sister, it was obvious without a closer look that he was no match for the captain. Horton Charles was a full head taller than Li Jia, with explosive, powerful muscles. Standing next to Li Jia, he looked like a giant tree next to a blade of grass.

When Horton Charles challenged Hai Mingyue to a duel, Hai Fei, Hai Mingyue's older brother, wanted to say something, but Li Jia's faint smile made him give up the idea. "If even the captain can't handle my little sister's boyfriend, then my little sister has serious problems with her judgment!"

"Alright, tell me, how do you want to compete?" Li Jia knew exactly how to make these big, simple-minded guys who only thought of solving problems with force back down. Although it was the Lunar New Year, Li Jia didn't mind stretching his muscles at this time, considering it a free performance for everyone.

"A man's way is to fight! This is China, guns aren't allowed here, so fight me. If you beat me, I'll leave immediately. If you lose, Miss Mingyue belongs to me!" After Horton Charles finished speaking, Bai Zirou and Wang Yuying all curled their lips and laughed disdainfully. This kind of thing is typical of brainlessness. Just based on what he said, Hai Mingyue's choice is right, even though Li Jiu'ai really doesn't seem to have any sense of security.
