Chapter 37 Minor Trouble

Soon, cheerful music came from the TV, interspersed with the energetic voice of a girl shouting, "A quick way to learn dynamic street dance!"

"Huh?" Li Jia was slightly annoyed when she saw the scene on TV. "What's going on?" she asked, looking at Meng Yao with a smile on her face.

"We still have an afternoon left. I hope I can be of some help to you. Since you promised Xiaoyu, you can't let her down, don't you think?" Meng Yao said with a smile, looking at Li Jia's puzzled expression.

"You mean, you want me to learn street dance from this?" Li Jia asked uncertainly, but Meng Yao nodded solemnly. "That's right, hurry up and learn, just don't let Xiaoyu find out. I'm going downstairs to work now, you hurry up and learn!" After saying that, Meng Yao turned around and went downstairs. Before going downstairs, she didn't forget to lock the door so that Zhou Xiaoyu wouldn't accidentally run up and find Li Jia trying to learn.

Li Jia watched the performers jumping around on the TV screen with some emotion. She was touched by Meng Yao's behavior. This almost perfect woman made people feel her goodness at all times, but did Li Jia really need this?

After turning off the TV, Li Jia stretched her joints and then performed a difficult Thomas Flair in the living room. After spinning dozens of times, she jumped up and shook her head without changing her expression. "I really can breakdance!" she said, then pushed open the door and walked out.

Upon arriving at the shop on the first floor, I saw Meng Yao attending to a couple of customers. Since I rarely come out, it would seem inappropriate not to go up and say hello. So, I adjusted my facial expression and went to the rest area. "Hello, I am the owner here. Come here and entrust your clothes to Shu Family Dry Cleaning. You will receive a comfortable service."

"You're the boss? That's perfect, I happen to have something to discuss with you." The woman sitting on the sofa seemed a bit suspicious. Beside her was a foreigner who was staring intently at Meng Yao's chest.

"Oh, is something the matter?" Li Jia noticed that Meng Yao's expression wasn't quite right, but her good manners prevented her from leaving and she remained seated.

"I've got my eye on your shop. Name your price! My boyfriend's got plenty of money!" The woman finished speaking, glanced at Li Jia, and seemed to recognize her somewhere before. She stared at Li Jia for a long time before asking, "You are... that pretty boy from the rice noodle shop?"

"It's you? No wonder you looked familiar. What? You're not hanging out with the thugs anymore?" Li Jia remembered that this woman was the one she had met at the Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles shop on the snack street a while ago, and she had even taught her a lesson.

"Hmph! It's none of your business who I follow. It's just that this shop is yours, but I don't like taking over a shop from a gigolo. John, let's go!" A hint of fear flashed in the woman's eyes. Li Jia had left a very deep impression on her. Just thinking about how Li Jia smashed that sturdy chair into pieces on someone made Zhang Yueying feel uneasy.

"NO, NO, NO, Yueying, I think this place is great, I really like it, so I'm taking this shop." John, the foreigner next to Zhang Yueying, immediately shook his finger after hearing her words, uttering a string of standard Mandarin. After speaking, his eyes remained fixed on Meng Yao, whose face was somewhat angry, and he kept glaring at her.

"Meng Yao, why don't you step aside for a moment? I need to talk to this gentleman." Seeing that Meng Yao was on the verge of anger, Li Jia got up and escorted Meng Yao upstairs. She then returned and sat down opposite the two men once more.

Seeing Zhang Yueying, who was already showing signs of backing down, Li Jia smiled. "You know my habits. I hate it when people disturb my meals. Actually, I have an even worse habit: I hate it when people take my job." After Li Jia finished speaking, Zhang Yueying's face changed. "You... what do you want?"

"Hello, my name is John, and I'm from Spain." John didn't even look at Zhang Yueying at the moment, but kept glancing upstairs. After seeing Li Jia sit back down, he stood up and introduced himself.

"Li Jia!" Li Jia's introduction was extremely brief. Standing in front of John, who was at least two meters tall, Li Feng, who was 1.8 meters tall, looked somewhat thin.

When the two men clasped hands, it felt like an adult shaking hands with a child, because John was not only tall but also very strong. He was a substitute rugby player for the Barona club in Spain, and his trip to China was purely for sightseeing.

“I want this shop. No matter how much you spent, I’ll pay double. How about that? Sounds tempting, right? But I have one condition: you have to keep all your employees, including… that beautiful lady from earlier.” John released Li Jia’s hand, took out a checkbook from his pocket, and looked at Li Jia’s face, seemingly waiting for her to make an offer.

“Spain is a nice place. May I ask what Mr. John’s profession is?” Li Jia ignored John’s waiting and sat leisurely on the sofa. She lit a Blue Classic and took a deep sip before speaking slowly.

“I am the owner of the Barona Football Club in Spain, and I also own several clubs and hotels throughout Spain. If you have ever been to Spain, you should know the famous Green Shirt Hotel, which is also owned by me!” John said with a proud look on his face.

The woman next to her, Zhang Yueying, gritted her teeth and remained silent. John was very generous; she had only been with him for about a week and had already received $20,000 from him. So, she chose to endure it because she knew she couldn't stay with John forever. Therefore, she would take whatever benefits she could get!
