Chapter 82 The Art of Bombs

As soon as Zhou Xiaoyu returned to the dry cleaner, she called out, "Brother Li, where have you been? Did you go into a cave? You're covered in dirt."

Li Jia held a plastic bomb wrapped in black tape in her hand, looked at herself, and said, "Oh, the car broke down halfway. I didn't go into the tunnel, I went under the car instead. Take this off and wash it for me later!" After saying that, Li Jia took the things and went upstairs.

Meng Yao had just come out of the bathroom when she saw Li Jia's dirty figure walk into the study. She felt a strange sensation in her heart. Li Jia had only been gone for two days, but Meng Yao felt as if he had been gone for a while. With a smile, Meng Yao went to the door of the study and gently knocked on the door frame. "You're back? Were you tired on the way?"

The Li family put the plastic bomb in a drawer, then looked up at Meng Yao and smiled. "Yes, I just got home. How's business at the shop these past few days?"

"Not bad. Zuo Long's customers have started coming over. They've had a batch washed and the satisfaction level is very high. Also, your batch of clothes is all sorted out. Find some time to deliver them to the customers. And Zhao Fei, that little girl, has come looking for me a few times these past two days. Give her a call if you have some free time!" Meng Yao said with a smile, then turned and left the study. With Li Jia back, the emptiness she had felt for the past two days disappeared, and a smile returned to her face.

"There's been a lot going on since I got back," Li Jia muttered with a smile. She got up and went to the bedroom to change out of her dirty clothes. After changing into casual clothes, Li Jia carried the filthy clothes downstairs. "Xiaoyu, these are for you. Wash them and iron them properly for me." She then handed the clothes to Zhou Xiaoyu.

"Don't worry! Leave it to me!" Zhou Xiaoyu said loudly as she took the clothes.

"I'm going out for a bit, let's have lunch together." Li Jia said goodbye to Meng Yao and Zhou Xiaoyu and left the store. It was Monday, and Li Jia naturally wanted to go to B University to check on Li Xiaoqing. Huang Likai had taken sick leave and she didn't know when he would be back. It was best to find a chance to resolve that kid's issue, otherwise he would always be around Xiaoqing. She was very worried.

Li Jia drove to the gate of B University, parked her car, and easily found her way to the history department's teaching building. She went up to the third floor and arrived at Li Xiaoqing's classroom. There was no teacher in the room. The students were all engrossed in their books. Li Jia stood by the window, observing the students in the classroom.

Li Xiaoqing was engrossed in her book, but Huang Likai was nowhere to be seen in the classroom. Just as Li Xiaoqing was about to leave, a teacher's voice came from behind her, "Young man, who are you looking for?"

Li Jia turned around and saw that the speaker was an elderly man around fifty years old, dressed simply, holding a thick academic notebook in his hand, and looking at her happily not far away.

“Oh, sir. I’m Li Xiaoqing’s older brother. I had some things I wanted to talk to her about today, but I saw she was studying, so I didn’t want to disturb her. I was thinking I’d go find her after class.” Li Jia felt a great deal of goodwill towards this elderly man and replied politely.

"Oh, Li Xiaoqing is a good student. She studies diligently and has a strong work ethic. Not bad! Not bad!" The old man finished speaking and went into the classroom. A moment later, Li Xiaoqing came out of the classroom. "Brother Li, what brings you here?"

"Nothing much, I just came to see you. Huang Likai didn't come to class, did he?" Li Jia said with a smile, looking at Li Xiaoqing's delighted face.

"Well, it seems he's applied for another leave of absence." Li Xiaoqing paused here, then looked at Li Jia somewhat shyly and said, "Thank you, Brother Li."

"Why are we talking about this? Hehe, alright, go back to class. Remember, if Huang Likai comes to class, notify Brother Li immediately. That kid has some serious problems." Li Jia instructed before patting Li Xiaoqing on the shoulder.

"Okay, I will. Brother Li, I'm going back to class now. If you have time, visit Xiaotong at home; she misses you a lot." After saying this, Li Xiaoqing returned to the classroom with a happy smile to continue her lesson. Li Jia, on the other hand, put her worries aside and strode downstairs.

Li Jia drove back to the shop. As soon as she entered, her phone rang. She took it out and saw the number was Yan Ruyu. This charming young woman was quite interested in Li Jia. "Ah Jia, are all my clothes washed? When are you going to deliver them to me?"

A somewhat cloying voice came through the phone. Li Jia couldn't help but feel helpless listening to Yan Ruyu's words. In just a short while, they had become "A-Jia" and "Sister." At this rate, who knows what kind of relationship they would develop into before long.

"Yan...uh...Sister Ruyu, I just got back from out of town, how about I bring it to you this afternoon?" Before Li Jia could even call her President Yan, Yan Ruyu's coquettish scolding left her speechless, so she had no choice but to bite the bullet and call her Sister Ruyu.

"Then bring it over tonight. I don't have time during the day. You bring it to your sister tonight, and she'll treat you to dinner, okay?" Yan Ruyu's tone and manner made Li Jia increasingly annoyed. How could this woman be so unrestrained towards him? Li Jia was, after all, a grown man nearing thirty.

"Okay, but I don't need to eat. I have something to do. I'll call you back tonight!" Li Jia hung up the phone with a sullen expression, which puzzled Meng Yao, who was standing next to her. "Li Jia, what's wrong? I rarely see you like this!"

"Hehe, yeah, met your match, huh?" Li Jia finished speaking and was about to put her phone back in her pocket when it rang again. This time it was an unfamiliar number, and it was an international call. "Hello, who is this?" Li Jia asked as she pressed the answer button.

"A bomb, is it?" The voice on the phone was as clear and melodious as if it came from the Himalayas. Hearing that voice address her, Li Jia immediately knew who it was. "It's me!"

"Three weeks from now, the 29th stop of the Victoria Orchestra's world tour, City B, China. Don't be late!" The voice on the phone hung up after saying that, and Li Jia heard LIANNA's voice for the first time, that heavenly sound from the snow-capped mountains.

This time, Li Jia put the phone in her pocket and looked at Meng Yao, who looked puzzled. "It's a friend. I'm going upstairs first. You guys go ahead with your work. We'll go out for dinner later." After saying that, Li Jia walked past Meng Yao and went upstairs.

Seeing Li Jia's sullen expression disappear immediately after finishing the call, Meng Yao thought to herself, "This man is really hard to figure out." After muttering to herself, she turned around and went about her own business.

After Li Jia arrived on the second floor, she closed the study door, took out the plastic bomb that weighed about 100 grams, took out a small knife from the drawer, and began to fiddle with the plastic bomb.
