Chapter 149 Attack

After making her decision, Li Jia immediately used the shadows to reach this side of the natural ravine and looked down into its depths. It was pitch black; she couldn't see the bottom. But as Li Jia searched around, she discovered a spot about a hundred meters from the villa entrance. The trees on both sides of the ravine were almost intertwined. It was definitely a good place to cross.

Upon discovering this place, Li Jia immediately quickened her pace, quickly reaching the top of the abrupt thicket of trees, and then slowly climbed down the steep slope. It took her five minutes to finally stand on one of the more prominent branches.

The branch stretched diagonally towards the opposite side, becoming very thin after about three meters due to its forking. From this point, there was only one tree on the opposite side that could be barely reached. However, Li Jia would need to leap more than five meters into the air to even touch the sturdier branch on the other side.

Fortunately, this slanting branch didn't have many branches; only a few thin branches suddenly branched out at the end. Moreover, the angle at which the branch extended was relatively even, without a noticeable upward slope. This made Li Jia secretly feel lucky.

Adjusting her breathing, Li Jia cleared away all the small branches from the tree trunk. Then, she cleaned up the last few thin branches as well. A tree trunk resembling a narrow bridge appeared before her. After estimating the distance, Li Jia suddenly sprang into action without hesitation. With the trunk shaking violently, Li Jia's body, propelled by the trunk's momentum, flew out with a "whoosh!" towards the distant, arm-thin tree trunk.

"Bang! Whoosh!" He firmly grasped his target without a doubt. The tree trunk he grabbed shook violently from the impact. However, on this night with the sea breeze howling, the noise Li Jia made went unnoticed by anyone.

Grabbing the tree trunk with both hands, Li Jia flipped himself up. His figure then slid down the trunk to the other side of the ravine. Looking back at the short distance, Li Jia turned and headed towards the villa complex. Tonight, he was determined to find out if Hiromoto Ichiro was here. If so, why was he so eager to get his hands on that land? Did he also know its secret?

These questions swirled in Li Jia's mind, but she didn't notice that a thin fiber rope beneath her feet had been snapped by her kick. The slight noise jolted her awake. A figure appeared before her eyes, flashing past to her left. Meanwhile, three black shuriken hurtled towards her eyes and throat.
