“Moon…” Li Jia didn’t say anything more, but tightened her grip on Hai Mingyue’s arm a little, which was a clear answer to Hai Mingyue.
The next morning, the two woke up from their dream and went outside. Looking at the neatly arranged items on the floor, Li Jia smiled and said, "Yue'er, go take a shower. Today we're going to have a training session specially designed for you. Tonight we're going to pick up your older brother's body and take it to the crematorium, so time is tight." After saying that, Li Jia started packing up, putting all the items into canvas bags.
After thinking it over all night, Li Jia made a decision that would allow him to do things without any worries or burdens.
At Davs Hill in San Francisco, Li Jia, carrying a canvas bag, pulled Hai Mingyue to the top of the hill. "Yue'er, I've decided on something very important. Your mission tonight is this!" After a short rest, Li Jia took out a gun case from the canvas bag!
"AUGA1, 5.56mm caliber, 30-round magazine capacity, two spare magazines, modified high-precision sniper scope, the gun weighs 3.6 kg, which is a little over 7 pounds. Compared to those genuine sniper rifles, this is much lighter. Most importantly, this is a high-performance suppressor from Scorpion, which can perfectly cover up the gunshot to avoid revealing your position. More importantly, this suppressor has been specially treated to basically eliminate the muzzle flash of the bullet. So, this is what you will be familiarizing yourself with today!" Li Jia said as she assembled the rifle, and finally, an ultralight sniper rifle appeared in Li Feng's hands.
Hai Mingyue was no longer surprised by the abilities Li Jia was demonstrating, because if what Li Jia had told her yesterday was true, then what she was showing now was just the most basic skill.
"Moon, this gun is your weapon tonight, and as for the pistol, you can practice here as much as you like. I've prepared ten magazines of bullets for you; keep three for tonight. You can use the rest. I'll go mark some marks for you so you can familiarize yourself with the gun." Li Jia handed the gun to Hai Mingyue and then carried a large plastic bag of empty cans away. Within a 50-100 meter radius, there were dozens of empty cans.
More than half an hour later, Li Jia returned to where Hai Mingyue was. Then, pointing to the aluminum cans arranged in a fan shape on the hillside, he said, "Two hundred bullets. Clean them all up. Are you confident?"
"Okay!" Hai Mingyue nodded, then raised the gun and set it up on the rock in front of her. Li Jia pointed out the things she needed to pay attention to from time to time. Only after Hai Mingyue understood the basic characteristics of the gun did he say to her, "Try firing a shot."
"Whoosh! Snap!" As Hai Mingyue pulled the trigger, a soda can flew out of the distance. "Yes! Good luck for a newbie!" Hai Mingyue muttered to herself before starting her training, while Li Jia took out her laptop and logged into her email.
Every three days, Li Feng would receive an email from the same address, which he would always read immediately before deleting. Today, there were many emails in his inbox, so Li Jia opened them one by one and read them carefully.
Time passed as the number of spent bullet casings piled up around Hai Mingyue, while Li Jia worked rapidly on her computer, organizing some things. It wasn't until noon that Li Jia put her laptop aside, then reached out and patted Hai Mingyue, who was still working hard. "Yue'er, it's almost time to eat."
"Okay! Eleven left. I think I'll master this gun soon." Hai Mingyue wiped the sweat from her forehead, took the drink Li Jia handed her, and took a small sip.
"Hehe. I placed a few cans in tricky spots, maybe only a little bit is showing, but I believe you can still clean them all up." Li Jia looked at the nearly one hundred bullet casings around Hai Mingyue and was somewhat surprised. On average, five or six bullets could hit one can. This result should be considered barely acceptable for Hai Mingyue, who was handling a gun for the first time.
After a quick lunch, Hai Mingyue resumed her practice, while Li Jia was writing and drawing in her notebook, preparing for the evening's plans.
Finally, as dusk approached, Hai Mingyue completed her task. She had knocked away all forty-four aluminum cans that Li Jia had placed there, and there were four and a half magazines left. One magazine contained sixteen bullets that hadn't been used, the other two magazines were full, and there were sixty bullets in the box.
Li Jia stretched languidly, and then, with her joints cracking all over, said, "Finally, it's all done!"
"Jia, what's done?" Hai Mingyue disassembled the gun with clumsy but correct movements and put it into the gun case next to her. Then she turned around and came to Li Jia's side. After lying here for so long, Hai Mingyue's skin, which had never suffered before, felt stiff and numb like never before.
"The route, the plan, and the specific action schedule... Take a break. I'll explain everything to you in detail after you've rested." After saying this, Li Jia stood up and did a few stretches, her joints cracking. She finished a short, noodle-like breakdance and returned to her computer. "What's wrong?"
Looking at Hai Mingyue's incredulous expression, Li Jia suddenly remembered that she had just habitually performed her own unique breakdance-like training moves. Looking at Hai Mingyue's expression, she immediately understood. "Hehe, you danced pretty well, right? I'll teach you sometime!"
