Half an hour later, Li Jia met with the top figure in the Florence police department at a club.
Hai Rui is said to have retired from the Navy Special Operations Team, but that's just hearsay. Nowadays, apart from his still sharp eyes, Hai Rui's increasingly spherical physique no longer bears any resemblance to his former role in the Navy Special Operations Team.
"Chief Hai Rui, this is Li Jia... Li Jia, this is Chief Hai Rui. You two chat, I'll go out and arrange the activities for later." Su Heyu paused for a moment when introducing Li Jia because he couldn't find a suitable way to address Hai Rui, so he simply introduced the other party by name and then turned and left the private room.
"Hello, Sheriff, I'm Li Jia, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Li Jia smiled, looking at Hai Rui's sharp eyes and the slight disdain twitching beneath his hooked nose, and naturally extended her hand.
Out of politeness, and considering the Dragon Dance Club's attitude towards Li Jia, Hai Rui shrugged, extended his hand and shook hands briefly with Li Jia, then sat down opposite Li Feng, picked up the already filled wine glass on the table, and took a big gulp. "You're in such a hurry to see me, what's the matter? Just say it, I don't want to waste time."
Clearly, Hai Rui had been quite annoyed lately, giving everyone the cold shoulder, especially Li Jia, who had dragged him out of bed so late. If Su Heyu hadn't given him a large sum of money and promised him a good time tonight, he probably wouldn't have had time to deal with Li Jia. "Hehe, I know Chief Hai Rui seems to have some worries lately. You know the nature of our Dragon Dance Club; there are many things we're good at and most comfortable doing." Li Jia had obviously done her homework on Hai Rui, knowing that this chief hadn't been promoted in almost ten years, which was probably the biggest worry for this top figure.
"What do you mean by that? Are you investigating me?" Hai Rui's face immediately turned cold upon hearing Li Jia's words. His hand went straight to his waist, where he kept his police M9 pistol, which had served him for many years.
"Hehe, Sheriff, don't be angry. I just did some research, it's hardly an investigation. == The reason I'm in such a hurry to meet you today is because of this matter. I wonder if you'd be interested in hearing what I have to say?" After Li Jia finished speaking, she relaxed completely. She picked up her glass and took a small sip. Li Jia didn't particularly like the taste of whiskey.
Influenced by Li Jia's relaxed demeanor, Hai Rui gradually relaxed as well. This person must have something to rely on to come see him. Well, there's no harm in listening. "Alright, I'll give you two minutes." The disdain on Hai Rui's lips had long since vanished. Although this was his first meeting with Li Jia, the fact that he could get an elder from the Dragon Dance Association to act as a go-between clearly meant he wasn't an ordinary person.
“Sheriff, I know your home is in Rome, and your wife hasn’t had much time to come here to be with you for over a decade. Now there’s an opportunity. It can help you get back to your wife. Of course, if you like it here, then just pretend I didn’t say anything.” Li Jia finished his drink, then poured himself another, tossing out another bait.
All of Hai Rui's family members lived in Rome, and for over a decade he had been trying to get them to move to Florence. Unfortunately, his two elderly parents were extremely stubborn. Furthermore, his wife was very devoted to her family, taking care of the children's schooling and the elderly, so they also refused to move to Florence. This is the reason why Hai Rui, despite his seemingly successful life, was actually deeply troubled.
A month ago, the two elderly people issued an ultimatum: if he didn't transfer back to Rome within six months, they would lose their temper completely. As the saying goes, when the old man gets angry, the consequences are severe!
Hai Rui, this filial son, was already at his wits' end. If he didn't get promoted soon, he'd have to retire and collect his pension. So, although Li Jia's words alarmed him, Hai Rui, trusting the Dragon Dance Association, chose to believe the man before him.
"So, what do I need to do?" Hai Rui saw Li Jia's sincerity and raised his wine glass to Li Jia.
"Hehe, of course, all I need to do is be a good policeman! I think my chance will come soon!" Li Jia finished speaking, lightly clinked her glass against Hai Rui's, and then tilted her head back to drink it all in one gulp.
"Chief Hai Rui, how did it go? The conversation went well. Everything's ready." At this moment, Su Heyu walked in from outside, casually putting his phone into his pocket, seemingly having just finished a call.
“Li Jiaren is nice, but we don’t seem to have much to talk about. Well, I think I’ll go up and try my luck!” Hai Rui finished the rest of his whiskey, glanced at Li Jia, and then followed Su Heyu out of the private room. Li Jia held an empty glass with a cryptic smile on her face.
After sitting in the private room for a while, Li Jia got up and left the club. The first step of the plan was basically agreed upon; now it was up to Li Jia to devise the next steps. ^^^^
A few days later, Li Jia received the first news at the Dragon Dance Club: one of the club's clothing companies had been attacked. The number of dead and injured was not large, but many people had been kidnapped. Of course, all the kidnapped people were women, and young women at that. Upon receiving this news, Li Jia immediately summoned several elders.
"Elders, you must all know that the Hanmoli family bastards have already made their move. They've brazenly kidnapped dozens of young women right here in our factory. As for why they kidnapped these women, I think you all know perfectly well." Li Jia paused here. "Find a way to resolve this immediately. Brother Wang, I'm leaving this to you. I think they must still be in Florence, on our territory. Finding them shouldn't be difficult. Rescue our people as quickly as possible, and while you're at it, eliminate every single one of the Hanmoli gang members you can!"
